evo 2009 live stream!

guilty gear was kind of lame thanks to the major lag, maybe ill feel different when we get some lagless rips. tekken was too quick.

doesn't seem laggy to me, screen hasnt froze once. EDIT: "Spoke too soon, starting to freeze like a mother******"

the chat is too funny, very amusing. So many qoutes =p

Most of you noobies have already missed MvC2 finals, don't be a bigger noobie and miss out on SF2HD and SF4 finals. MUST SEE STUFF.

goodnite *wink wink*

EDIT: I apologize for bumping my thread ;_;. I just wanted as many of my fellow smogoners to experience the joy I was witnessing also. I thought I was doing the right thing. Sorry Firestorm =[.

I've been watching like constantly, I missed like a few SC4 matches (even that game was surprisingly interesting to watch though, I think Hilde is fun to watch lol) and that's about it.

really awesome content, but the stream itself is moderately disappointing, especially if you know about the drama with DJWheat who would have arguably at least had a more technically sound setup. oh well.

MvC2 was so crazy. I've never played it, I hardly understand it, and the framerate for the stream is below average which makes it even worse, but god damn it was entertaining. I kind of just like rooting against Wong though >_>

Guilty Gear was pretty cool too, surprised to see Marn go so far actually. I hope they actually show the BlazBlue finals though... they haven't said anything about it on the stream but it's advertised, so...

Wait, so did Justin Wong lose MvC2 finals or was that somewhere along winners bracket? I wasn't at my computer and when I came back some of my IRC channels were going nuts.

Edit: Hot damn. It was finals!

Wong lost to Sanford in Winner's finals, beat Yipes in Loser's, took a set off Sanford in Grand Finals but lost the second set 3-2.

edit: daigo takes justin out of winner's, it just looks like wong doesn't know how to handle him. Apparently Sabin beat Daigo in a money match though, cool. definitely rooting for ed ma.

Sanford's Cammy beating the other japanese player so badly that he'll probably kill himself before the end of the tournament was priceless.

edit2: wow, justin goes through 2 akumas and ed ma counterpicks zangief for some reason, I really wish he would have taken it and gone to the finals. justin's plan b abel failed miserably against daigo so he switched to fucking boxer and almost took it, goddamn this was crazy. Not sure what Justin ever plans to do at SBO when he lacks any modicum of confidence in his main character in these kinds of situations, but good shit regardless at how well he performed, seriously.

Justin qualified with Boxer, so that shouldn't really matter. My laptop burned out right during Daigo's match point, so I went back and watched over the finals again tonight. This game is just too unreal.

Justin Wong vs Daigo Umehara Evo 2009 championships. Shit just doesn't get any better than that. Justin with a surprisingly successful random Balrog switch after losing a game with Abel. He managed to take it to a whole nother round after beating Daigo (Justin was in losers, also due to Daigo). However, Daigo, being Daigo, won with the clutch victory over Justin Wong yet again.

Man, it's gotta suck being Justin Wong. I mean, he's one of the best players in the US (and the best with little to no stretch) but damn he's lost to Daigo a lot. Evo 04, that Gamestop? tournament, one more I'm forgetting, winners bracket Evo 09, and Grand Final II Evo 09. I mean, that's just got to be horrible on the confidence. Hearing that he lost in the 2nd Grand Final of MvC2 doesn't make it seem any easier on him.

Are the final brackets available to the public?

I have to agree, Calciphoce, JWong really was able to clutch it up, but losing AGAIN to Daigo must really suck. And it was pretty much one of the first times people were rooting FOR him. But I just guess Daigo adapted to JWong's footsie-oriented Balrog.

I also enjoyed the Dan matches, even when he got manhandled by Sanford (poor Dan). I really like some of the stuff he does. But I was extremely disappointed in the Choi / Ed Ma match. I wish Choi didn't pull the cord that last set or miss that Ultra.

Last time I checked, the brackets weren't up.

I hope we get some non-shitty MvC2 videos uploaded on Youtube. It's impossible to see what's going on in that live stream that seems to drop 3/4ths of the frames.
