EV Training on Evolutions and Pre-Evolutions

I'm not entirely sure if this is the place to post it, but, if it isn't, maybe someone'll have the answer anyways.

Does it make a difference if you EV train on the evolution or pre-evolution of the pokemon you intend to use? For instance, would I see any difference in stats if I EV trained my Scyther and then evolved it? For that matter, would I see any stat difference if I simply level trained it as a Scyther or if I first evolved it and then trained it?

Welcome to Smogon, this actually belongs in the Simple Questions/Simple Answers thread.

To answer your question it makes no difference if you EV train before or after your pokemon evolves.

It does not make a difference, as long as both methods end up at the same level.

Example:
A Scyther given 252 Speed EVs and then evolved to Scizor at Level 50, would have the same stats as a Scyther evolved to Scizor first, then given 252 Speed EVs at Level 50.

any EP's on a pre-EVO = ant EP's on an EVO. 4 Effort Points on any pokemon translate to one more point for the intended stat at level 100, be it a stage one pokemon or stage two pokemon.

In short - it doesn't matter or change anything if you EV train and then evolve.

And yes, this isn't the place for this. A moderator will lock this up soon. For the next time, post in this thread: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56879

@EDIT: Wow, I didn't see all of these posts beforehand. oops.
