So this team is revolved around this core, where i start out with espeon to set up light screen and reflect, then send in my azumarill to use belly drum and sweep. if azumarill doesnt work then i use swords dance scizor. I have garchomp for stealth rocks and i found that raikou works pretty well on the team. Lastly i have latios for defog. But im still a beginner and i feel like the core is really good but i dont do that well with it. Any tips/suggestions are appreciated.
oh and just a quick note: i got this core from a youtube video so i wont be explaining why i chose scizor espeon and azu. They just cover a lot of each other's weaknesses and espeon gives them a better chance to set up.
Klefki (M) @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 200 SpD / 60 Spe
Calm Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Thunder Wave
- Flash Cannon
My screens setter. First, I set up the screen that corresponds to the Mon that im facing (reflect for machamp, light screen for alakazam) then the next. Sometimes ill use thunder wave, but ill try to switch it out to azu as soon as possible to get it behind the screens as long as possible.
Azumarill (F) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 52 HP / 252 Atk / 204 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Play Rough
- Belly Drum
- Aqua Jet
I almost always send out azu first after ive set up the screens (unless its an unfavorable matchup) because it aboslutely wrecks after it safely sets up BD. I switched brick break for knock off even if its neutral damage, most mon usually have an item. But if every move is neutral, i usually use aqua jet for a guaranteed hit.
Scizor (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Atk / 216 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Swords Dance
- Superpower
- Bug Bite
I also usually try to send Scizor out under the screens, just to give it a chance to set up safely. I usually try to set up SD once then sweep, but if my foe isnt damaging me much, or if i predict a switch, ill do it a second time. Bullet punch is great with technician boost; guarantees hits and does a ot of damage. Superpower is good coverage, especially against other steel types. Bug bite is another STAB.
Gyarados-Mega (F) @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 56 HP / 252 Atk / 200 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
- Ice Fang
- Crunch
I switched raikou for gyarados mega mainly because the person who suggested it made a lot of sense, and i also felt raikou wasnt doing very well. This one, i switch into favorable match ups, predicting a switch, then setting up dragon dance. After one DD, it can pretty much outspeed most mons. Waterfall is great stab, it has a pretty high chance of causing flinch. Crunch is also very good and ice fang is good coverage, esoecially with the large amount of dragon types going around reight now.
Mew @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Spe
Calm Nature
- Heal Bell
- Defog
- Will-O-Wisp
- Psychic
I switched out latios for mew because i needed a cleric (because stall teams destroy this team) that could learn defog, and actually someone i was battling recomended mew/togekiss, and i though mew would be good because it can also learn defog. HEal bell for burns and toxics, defog for if i dont set my hazards up well and they do, will o wisp beacus its really annoying, and STAB psychic so it isnt taunt bait.
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 240 HP / 176 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Fire Blast
Garchomp is my hazard setter. If i set up my rocks and my foe isnt threatening to me, and EQ amd fire blast (coverage) cant do anything, then ill just dragon tail them to abuse the rocks. I also send him out on physical sweepers (especiallly if theyre using recoil moves), because rocky helmet, rough skin and recoil would do a fair amount.
