End Game.

~END GAME~
Welcome! I'm Oligopoly, an up and coming competitive battler that aspires to be the(very) best. This is my first RMT, and its taken me quite some time to complete-so please enjoy, and feel free to post any constructive comment you can offer. I highly appreciate all the help and the opportunity to share one of my favorite teams ever. On PS i'm at a 1720 rating, after recently having been at 1450-40 battles before making this team. I only lost about 6 battles in that span, and one more because of a destiny bond glitch. The other 33 battles are why I'm here though. I made three team member switches, and after consistent wins and move changes to make battles even easier to handle, my confidence swelled enough to make an RMT. A lot of this team is revenge killing, but the sweepers are really what make this team successful. Lucario, my main sweeper, may be the best pokemon...ever. Period. I'm not trying to be cocky or brag, I'm just saying that Lucario makes me a happy person when i'm down 5-1 and he completely vanquishes my opponent. He was the first member on this team, and by far the most important. With the introduction of Black and White 2's vast changes to the metagame, Lucario is quite a pro at handling it all. The other poke I must mention is Porygon2. A pokemon that cannot be underestimated-ever. A check to the monster that is Thundurus-T(Trace+Volt Absorb), Landorus-T(Trace+Intimidate+Ice Beam), and Heatran...you get the point...Porygon2 is my saving grace. Anyway, lets get on with it.

TEAM LAYOUT:
[pimg]453[/pimg][pimg]286[/pimg][pimg]233[/pimg][pimg]478[/pimg][pimg]373[/pimg][pimg]121[/pimg]

Teambuilding:
[pimg]453[/pimg]
Lucario:
The mighty broom. Extremespeed and Swords Dance are nearly unstoppable. Lucario comes in, the opponent changes his pants, and then you make him bleed. Overall a monster and a pokemon to be feared. Get up stealth rocks, use your team to its potential until an opportunity opens up to Dance and then wreak havoc. Justified has completely ruined teams. If you switch into a dark move, the opponent basically loses.
[pimg]453[/pimg][pimg]286[/pimg]
...Breloom:
WHY?! Look, I hate pokemon like blissey, sableye, whimsicott, and sub toxic gliscor. Oh and breloom. Why? Because they are annoyers. Pokemon is fun for me, and I don't enjoy annoying the shnitzel out of people for a W. I like to win with skill and raw power. Wait...so why did I throw a breloom on my team? Three words. Technician. Mach Punch and Bullet Seed cover a great deal. Throw in a swords dance to ensure destruction. Throw in spore to keep the enemy at bay. Add an expert belt just for the hell of it. Breloom was always on my naughty list, up until he became an elite instrument of destruction. Blissey=dead. Heatran=dead. Jellicent=dead. Wall breaking is Breloom's specialty. I love it.
[pimg]453[/pimg][pimg]286[/pimg][pimg]233[/pimg]
Porygon2:
I have used tons of teams, tons of sets, and lots of different strategies, but if there is a pokemon that has a niche in being able to switch in to ANYTHING its gotta be Porygon2. Terrakions Close Combat and Conkeldurr's Drain Punch can take it out, but thats it. Anything else unboosted is a safe switch in. (I'm sure there are some other obvious fighting moves I'm overlooking but trust me Porygon2 can take 99% of moves in OU.) As stated earlier, the new threats in OU get checked by this duck, and even some older ones like Heatran. Porygon also has Thunder Wave and can cripple stall teams, leaving them to Breloom to finish off.
[pimg]453[/pimg][pimg]286[/pimg][pimg]233[/pimg][pimg]478[/pimg]
Mamoswine:
Stealth Rock. Dragons. Etc. Nuff said.
[pimg]453[/pimg][pimg]286[/pimg][pimg]233[/pimg][pimg]478[/pimg][pimg]130[/pimg]
Gyarados:
Reason: Survive a fighting type move, then hit back hard. I gave Gyarados a scarf and moxie to take care of a lot of the big threats that i have on MY team. Mamoswine, Lucario, Breloom, and other things that I can switch into safely like Jirachi and Heatran.
[pimg]453[/pimg][pimg]286[/pimg][pimg]233[/pimg][pimg]478[/pimg][pimg]130[/pimg][pimg]121[/pimg]
Starmie: When I added a Gyarados, I had an excuse to throw in a spinner. I could survive with stealth rocks up, but when an opponent gets spikes up its just painful. So I added a good spinner. I also hate when Deoxys-D gets spikes up AND SR. Because of that, I put a spinner on my team, and no other spinner works quite as well on this team as Starmie.
[pimg]453[/pimg][pimg]286[/pimg][pimg]233[/pimg][pimg]478[/pimg][pimg]373[/pimg][pimg]121[/pimg]
Salamence:
After reconsidering my Gyarados distaste, Salamence is the answer to my problem. Wonderful power, great coverage, and better stats and typing make Salamence a wonderful replacement. Thanks go to Novaray for the excellent suggestion. After replacing Gyarados, I won 19 battles in a row while the ladder was down before the server crashed:P So I might as well change the thread while I can.
IN DEPTH:

Lucario_by_Shiny_the_phoenix.png

#Swagg(Lucario) @ Life Orb
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Close Combat
- ExtremeSpeed
- Swords Dance

This is the reason my team is called End Game. Late game sweeping is great. Get up SR and do some damage with everyone else and Lucario nearly guarantees the win. Play it right. Start out with a Mamoswine, force a switch and get SR up or take out a pokemon and switch to Porygon2 to paralyze. Get Breloom in, wreak havoc and make smart moves. This team is meant to make tactical moves, and if the opponent makes the switch, you can make an even better one. DO NOT OVERPREDICT. Be smart, don't take too many risks because the team is built to function even after the dragonite gets a dragon dance, trust me.
Breloom_by_FishPhibian.png

Girl Scout(Breloom) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk/ 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Swords Dance
- Spore

I used to hate Breloom. Now he has technician, and can take out walls like its nobody's business. I use an expert belt to ensure that bullet seed takes care of Jellicent before a swords dance, and to guarantee a 2 hit KO on gliscor on a switch in. Also, weather pokemon are immediately taken care of. If your opponent leads with a Tyranitar, Abomasnow, Hippowdon, or even Politoed, a bullet seed or drain punch can end them. Ninetales should just be left for Salamence. Spore helps keep threats asleep while I swords dance and destroy. Lastly, Swords Dance is hella useful. Brelooms attack stat is a work of art. Swords Dance makes Breloom ridiculously powerful. Use it on a switch or after spore and enjoy the destruction. Breloom takes care of stall teams like a pro, so if you ever run into a stall team, take care of the skarmory if they have one, and then breloom can pretty much do the rest.
shiny_porygon2_by_FrozenFeather.jpg

WonderDuck(Porygon2) @ Eviolite
Trait: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 196 Def / 60 SDef
Calm Nature
- Recover
- Thunder Wave
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt

The new threats added with the release of BW2 are monstrous. Thundurus-T scares little children with a base 145 SAtk. Landorus-T is terribly intimidating(see what I did there?:P). Porygon2 can check them quite successfully, and also handle other pokemon like Jolteon, Heatran, Hydreigon, and Volcarona. Eviolite gives Porygon2 wonderful defenses, and thunder wave is a utility move to help the likes of Lucario and Breloom. Porygon2 is great at patching up some holes in the rest of the team. I definitely hate fighting type moves, and I know its a serious problem, but I can handle it. Revenging is a serious asset, and Porygon2 makes it a lot easier with Thunder Wave. Recover allows my duck to stay alive.
Mamoswine.png

Mammoth(Mamoswine) @ Life Orb
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Superpower
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard

The mighty dragon slayer. Switch this baby in on any scale covered fiend and use stealth rocks on the switch out. Or just ice shard and make the fire breather perish. Also great at taking care of Magnezone and Jirachi. Thick Fat makes a lot of fire type moves less painful, and allows a safe switch in for Ice type moves. Scizor is an automatic retreat. Switch out. Lucario and Starmie too. But other than that Mamoswine is pretty solid when it comes to handling so many pokemon and/or just staying in and doing damage. Life Orb makes Mamoswine pretty powerful so don't be afraid to use him offensively.
tumblr_m37wy1mbLR1qgnvhgo1_500.png

Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin

Spinner that can take out a lot of pokemon. Life Orb is too risky, I really need to rapid spin and can't afford to lose him. Leftovers makes this less of a problem. I would love to go in depth about how useful this pokemon is to me, but seriously the first four pokemon take care of so much that Starmie is only a utilitymon. I love having him in the roster, but Starmie just serves his spinning purpose and the task of taking out Infernape if one shows up. Mamoswine too. If anyone wants to make a change to this team this is where you come after gyarados.
underrated_salamence.png

Salamence@ Choice Scarf
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Spd / 4 SAtk / 252 Atk
Naive Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Blast

The missing piece of the puzzle. A quick fix for Jirachi, Dragonite, Scizor, Roserade, Skarmory and more. Moxie can tear teams to shreds if they aren't prepared. In all honesty, I only needed a pokemon to outspeed certain threats, but Salamence is just so much more. A pokemon that can switch in, decimate, then hit even harder and harder is BEAUTIFUL. Its also pretty cool looking. Make sure the SR are out of the way, then feel free to tear people up with this instrument of death:)

LAST WORDS:

Alright guys, thats it. The team has been very successful and I love using it, but I would love to see what could make it better. Its not undefeated, so I know there can be improvements, and I'm open to ALL suggestions. Thanks for everything and here is the importable:
Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin

Lucario @ Life Orb
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Close Combat
- ExtremeSpeed
- Swords Dance

Gyarados @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Spd / 4 HP / 252 Atk
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Ice Fang
- Waterfall

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Trait: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 196 Def / 60 SDef
Calm Nature
- Recover
- Thunder Wave
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt

Breloom @ Expert Belt
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk
Jolly Nature
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Superpower
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard

Hi Oligopoly

Solid team you have here, triple priority between Lucario, Breloom, and Mamoswine is a really interesting concept. I do have some suggestions for your team though. First, I suggest replacing Drain Punch on Breloom with Spore. Spore is an incredible move as it renders a would be counter almost useless, giving you at least one free turn to switch into a check or get up a Swords Dance. Losing Drain Punch does hurt a bit in that you'll lose access to recovery, but a 100% accurate Sleep move is usualy more advantageous. Also due to the more offensive nature of Techniloom compared to Poison Heal Breloom and the fact that Drain Punch does not receive a Technician boost, Spore is more worthy of a moveslot in most instances.

Another change I would suggest is replacing your Scarf Gyarados with a Choice Scarf Moxie Salamence with a moveset of Outrage / Dragon Claw / Earthquake / Fire Blast. Salamence performs much the same role as your Gyarados is performing now, serving as both a revenge killer and late game cleaner. However, Salamence has the extra benefit of having a higher speed stat; sitting at base 100 speed, Salamence can outspeeed +1 Dragonite and Haxorus as well as speed tie with +1 Volcarona and Scarf Jirachi. Outrage is also more spammable than Waterfall as it has better coverage and a higher base power. Fire Blast is used in the last moveslot to wreck Skarmory and Ferrothorn.

Finally, I would place the 4 HP EVs on Starmie, Lucario, Mamoswine, and Breloom into Special Defense. Doing this gives each of these Pokemon an odd HP number, maximizing the number of times they can switch into Stealth Rock. For example, Stamie with 4 HP EVs has an HP stat of 262 which means he can only switch into Stealth Rock 8 times while Starmie with no HP EVs has an HP stat of 261 and therefore can switch into SR 9 times. The EVs are placed into Special Defense so that Pokemon with the Download ability, the majority of which are Special Attackers, will receive a useless Attack boost as your Defense stat will be lower on Starmie as he is base 85 in both defenses.

Hope I helped and good luck with your team!

Set:
Salamence (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Satk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
-Outrage
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake
-Fire Blast

tl;dr
Drain Punch on Breloom ----> Spore
Choice Scarf Gyarados ----> Choice Scarf Moxie Salamence
4 HP EVs on Lucario, Breloom, Mamoswine, Starmie ----> 4 SDef EVs

Thank you very much Novaray! I had wanted to use a ScarfMoxieMence on this team originally and when I had switched team members around I ended up losing the Salamence:/ I'll put him back on! Also, I had NO IDEA about the stealth rock thing, knowing that is a blessing and I'll be sure to do it! Lastly, I will test out Spore on my techniloom, I just didnt want my most useful pokemon to die too easily. This was a HUGE help and I seriously appreciate it thanks so much!

Weakness to Thunder Punch infernape. But, since this kind of Infernape doesnt exist, your team is weak to Choice Band or Choice Scarf Infernape, close combat for porygon, mamoswine and lucario; Flare Blitz for Breeloom; Stone Edge for Gyarados; U-turn for Starmie.

Try using Tentacruel or Gastrodon or something like that...

I've actually been up against scarfape, he cant take out porygon2 in one shot. I thunderwave, then earthwuake with mamoswine. for a banded infernape, i have salamence to earthquake him to kingdom come. Thanks though, I would switch out something but it would open up even MORE weaknesses and i dont want that:)

Hi

This is a nice team, I love Porygon2. However I can see a couple of things that could be changed to make it more effective. First of all, your Lucario carries Bullet Punch for Terrakion. This is nice, but you have two teammates, Breloom and Starmie, who are excellent at removing Terrakion, while Lucario's other counters, especialy Reuniclus and Jellicent, are much more trouble for your team to remove. You are by no means weak to them but you lack an answer as solid as you have for Terrakion. Crunch would probably be much more worth it for your team, even though Terrakion is more common than Jellicent and Reuniclus, because that way you can take off these annoying threats in your sweep while Terrakion is taken care of earlier in the battle by your other teammates.

Another thing you could do is change Starmie's moveset a bit. With Leftovers, Starmie cruelly lacks the power it needs to break through some spinblockers like Jellicent who will be more than happy to get on you when they see your held item. Life Orb allows Starmie to 2HKO Jellicent with Thunderbolt, which is more than great since it turns Starmie into somewhat of an unblockable spinner. If you feel like Starmie's life is very important for you and you don't like it to get it worn down easily, which could cost you the game against Stall teams, you can drop Ice Beam for Recover. You can deal with dragons with Porygon2, as long as you keep it healthy, and it's the move Starmie needs the less.

Still I could see Choice Specs Latios be a pretty big problem for this team, as Porygon2 can be 2HKOed by Draco Meteor if it has taken prior damage, like Stealth Rock, and without Leftovers due to Eviolite this could become dangerous. Not having a dragon resist outside of Lucario I think is not a problem for this team since you have the very bulky Porygon2 and Mamoswine, but Latios is the only one who could cause a really big problem. Basically every times it comes in you'll have to sack something and try to revenge it with Salamence, which is somewhat predictable. I think that running more special bulk on Porygon2 could solve that problem. With more Special Defense investment it can tank Draco Meteors, and allow you to Recover back to full health for the next time they come in. While Porygon2 will then lose some of its ability to tank Physical hits, most physical Dragons will have to lock themselves into Outrage to beat Porygon2 allowing you to Revenge Kill them easily with Mamoswine or to grab a Moxie boost with Salamence.

Here are the sets you should use:
121.gif
@ Life Orb
Natural Cure
Timid
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
-Hydro Pump
-Thunderbolt
-Recover
-Rapid Spin

233.gif
@ Eviolite
Trace
Calm
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 SpD
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
-Thunder Wave
-Recover

Good luck!
