While most defensive Grass-types are severely outclassed by Tangela, Eldegoss has become increasingly popular as an alternative over the past few months due to its better mixed bulk, which allows it to better handle the metagame's biggest threat in Rotom, and Rapid Spin. Eldegoss's typing lets it force out common entry hazard setters such as Rhydon, Qwilfish, and Alolan Dugtrio. Giga Drain in conjunction with Regenerator greatly increases Eldegoss's longevity, letting it reliably check Volt Switch users like Rotom and Raichu. Pollen Puff targets Grass-types like Tangela, Thwackey, and Shiftry, while Sleep Powder punishes common switch-ins such as Alolan Sandslash, Silvally-Poison, and Skuntank. 96 Speed EVs allow Eldegoss to outspeed Adamant Rhydon. Ice-type wallbreakers like Aurorus and Jynx appreciate Rapid Spin support; in return, they can offset Eldegoss's passivity and deal with bulky Flying- and Grass-types like Altaria, Tangela, and Appletun. Wishiwashi, Qwilfish, and Miltank cover its weaknesses to Fire- and Ice-types.

Actually Stunfisk can afford to stay in and toxic eldegoss because goss is weak and goss hates toxic poison, so i'd change the example. Pollen Puff targets Grass-types like Tangela, Thwackey, and Shiftry, which would other wall Eldegoss, while Sleep Powder punishes common switch-ins such as Alolan Sandslash, Silvally-Poison, and Skuntank. 96 Speed EVs allows Eldegoss to outspeed Adamant Rhydon.
