Hello! I´m not very experienced in NatDex metagame. Actually, I haven´t really been into mons since gen 6, but SV seemed so fun I just got into it again. I always though Iron Valiant and Mega Gallade looked like the same mon, so I said, fuck it. Let´s build a team with both of them.
My main concern was priority from mons like Scizor and Kingambit, as both of my boys are pretty fast and once they set up, they´re pretty difficult to stop.
Gallade-Mega (M) @ Galladite
Ability: Justified
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Encore
Woooo the star of the team. I actually managed to make a team where the mega is the most useless mon. Its job is usually to deal as much damage as possible before the improved version can actually clean up, but sometimes you can sweep in front of inadverted checks that don´t expect encore on this fella, such as Steal rock lando. Honestly, I wish my guy was better. But he´s not.
Iron Valiant @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Encore
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt
The actual sweeper. There´s not much to be said about this set, classical OU Calm mind + encore Valiant. Electric tera allows you to hit incredibly hard with thunderbolt, avoid being KOd by steel type attacks (mainly BP from Scizor and Mega Medicham). You should keep Valiant until the end of the game, but I sometimes had to use him early against heavy set up teams.
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 196 SpD / 60 Spe
Calm Nature
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
My main answer for steel types. Again, the sets are not the most original ones. Taunt can be useful against set up sweepers, as stall is neither common nor specially threatning against the team. Most of the times I don´t get to set rocks up, but I felt like I still needed that move.
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 244 HP / 252 Def / 12 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Toxic
- Roost
The physical wall, could be Rocky Helmet lando as well, but I prefer the durability from gliscor. My main concern building the team at this point was to get some volt turn going so my valiants could get in safely. It makes a great core along gengar and any water type, XY OU style. It was Swords dance before, but honestly, it was getting too many kills for my liking. This is a Double Gallade team, and the kills belong to them.
Samurott-Hisui @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sharpness
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 Atk / 20 SpD / 236 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Ceaseless Edge
- Razor Shell
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
This guy used to be defog Rotom-W, but I felt like the team needed more power. AV is to give Samurott some durability. This mon´s role is to click Ceaseless edge as many times as possible, but sometimes you should keep it a bit longer to check threats like Dragapult, as you can switch in safely on non specs sets. Most people don´t expect Sucker Punch. You could chage Knock off for Sacred Sword, but I felt like the team didn´t need more fighting type attacks.
Tapu Koko @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Electric Surge
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- U-turn
- Thunderbolt
- Dazzling Gleam
- Hidden Power Ice
And in the end, my boy Koko. I needed some volt turn going, plus the terrain can be really useful for Valiant and to counter the foe´s terrain, mainly rillaboom´s. Koko outspeeds most of the tier and has very few switch ins. I used to run Roost, but the games tend to be fast, so I thought HP Ice was better overall.
In general, it´s a pretty simple team, but also incredibly fun. It´s incredibly weak to fast Specs and Band users such as Dragapult, and one wrong move can make you lose a previously won match. But that´s just pokemon imo. I easily reached the 1400, so I think a skilled player can give it a good use. Any improvements on the team are welcomed, hope you guys have fun with the team!
