SV OU Double Body Press Set Up [my first post]

Hiii this is my first time posting here pls be nice. I'm not very good at competitive pokemon, so pls don't judge. I like bulky attackers that can take hits but still do a decent chunk of damage back. So here's a double defence boosting body press team. (Zamasenta + Goodra H)

Zamazenta (Pokémon) - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia

Zamazenta @ Leftovers
Ability: Dauntless Shield
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Crunch
- Substitute

Most EVs put into HP and Def for it to survive. And 168 Spe to still be fast enough to out run almost everything except for dragapult or scarf users. Substitute can also be used to block status and salt cure. And crunch for ghost types that body press can't hit. I would also switch it in against strong physical attackers/dark types that creselia and hoopa can't take. But I also try to use great tusk as a dark/physical sponge, then only ill send out zamazenta so I don't waste it's ability. But in dire situations zamazenta is still rly good at taking physical hits. Steel tera to resist fairy and physic.

Cresselia Pokédex: stats, moves, evolution & locations | Pokémon Database

Cresselia (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 248 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Stored Power
- Moonblast
- Moonlight

Next member Cresselia. Most EVs in Def to suck up strong physical moves, especially to take fighting moves for kingambit and goodra. I'm using a calm mind + stored power set so it also has the potential to sweep. Most EV in def to also be bulky on the physical side and use calm mind for the special side. But in most cases just used to answer great tusk and other physical fighters. Since it also has levitate to help with kingambit and goodra's ground weakness. Moonblast to deal with dark types that are immune to stored power.

File:0720Hoopa-Unbound.png - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia

Hoopa-Unbound @ Assault Vest
Ability: Magician
Tera Type: Psychic
EVs: 76 HP / 120 Atk / 252 SpA / 60 Spe
Mild Nature
- Knock Off
- Drain Punch
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt

Asault Vest Hoopa U to help goodra with sucking up some special attacks. Since other than Hoopa, goodra is the only bulky special mon on my team. 252 in SpA for wallbreaking and to hit hard with psychic. 60 Spe to outspeed no Spe EVs great tusk. Also thunderbolt for coverage and to hit stuff like corv, dondozo and other water types. Knock off and drain punch for physical coverage and also for utility, with 120 in Atk for these moves to still hit hard. Only thing to look out for is fast U-turn users which other team mates can help.

Goodra - #706 - Serebii.net Pokédex

Goodra-Hisui @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 244 HP / 12 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Flash Cannon
- Body Press
- Acid Armor

Goodra H is the main special sponge in the team. And the 2nd body press user. I've been rly liking h goodra for it's bulk and still being able to put out decent hits. Acid Armor to boost def and with it's high Hp, could survive some weaker physical fighters like contrary enamorous. And also has to potential to sweep with acid armor + body press. Since it's special bulk is aldy rly high, boosting it's def would make it harder to kill. Also sap sipper to deal with spore.

Great Tusk | Pokédex

Great Tusk @ Leftovers
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off
- Rapid Spin

I use great tusk as a physically defensive utility mon. With most EVs put in HP and Def to take hits and also help take some hits that cresselia can't take. Also a bulky fighting type, can help zamazenta take hits too, to avoid using it's ability early game. I also wanted a bulky hazard clearer and great tusk fits the spot. To let my other bulky team mates have better longevity. Also the 4 Spe is to outspeed other defensive great tusks. Tera water to resist ice and water.

Kingambit | Pokédex

Kingambit @ Leftovers
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Kowtow Cleave
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head

Last team member. Bulky dark mon to scare off any physic types like opposing cresselias. And steel to threaten fairy types. Most EVs put in HP and ATk and only 4 for Spe since its already slow, not rly a point to try to make it fast. It also has sucker punch, can be used as a revenge killer and the only priority user in this team. Tera fairy to resist fighting, but It's ground and fighting weakness is helped by cresselia.

If there's anyways that I can improve this team, pls do tell, thank you for reading!!

Nice team! I love the inclusion of :goodra-hisui:. Its one of my favorite mons in PLA! However, I notice that your team has little momentum and is pretty weak to volt-turn cores. two of your mons are weak to bug (one is 4x :Hoopa-unbound:). I'm going to make some changes which will hopefully improve you team!

General Improvements:

Set Changes:

Swap :great-tusk: for :cinderace:. Right now, your team is pretty slow and lacks momentum. This swap gives you much more momentum (in u-turn), a higher speed tier and more offensive power. I would recommend the "bulky" pivot set. Here is a quick rundown of the set. :heavy-duty-boots: for infinite pivoting with U-Turn. Pyro ball for a strong stab attack that hits :Gholdengo:, Will-O-Wisp for crippling things like Great Tusk that they can just switch in on a Pyro Ball and U-Turn. Court Change allows :cinderace: to get rid of hazards without anything blocking it (eg Gholdengo's Good as Gold) which is really good in the meta today because there are alot of Hazard stack teams.

Small changes/Notes:

Swap :hoopa-unbound:'s tera from Psychic to Fairy. This improves provides a resistance to bug type moves (u-turn) and is a better defensive type for an AV user.

Swap :cresselia:'s Leftovers for Covert Cloak. Cresselia tends to stay in for a long time before switching out or sweeping. Covert Cloak eliminates the randomness of moves like Shadow Ball or Crunch and also thwarts :Garganacl:'s Salt Cure too. Loosing the passive recovery might suck but Covert Cloak helps way more because it insures that the opponent has to chip you down but you being so bulky doesn't really matter because Cresselia already has good recovery in Moonlight.

Notes:

Your team is partly gets shut down by unaware users. 2/3 of your team is setup mons. Of course there is counter play, but it just makes the matchup alot harder. For example, the two body press users :zamazenta: and :goodra-hisui:'s boosts are ignored by:dondozo: and :Skeledirge: and Skeledirge completely walls your two mons. I suggest that you setup on a mon and predict the switch into Dondozo or Skeledirge and swap into :hoopa-unbound:. This mons is great for the two unaware mons because Hoopa has a way to hit them both with super-effective damage. Make sure to preserve your hoopa through a match and don't let it get chipped down too much. Hoopa is very frail to phys attacks so watch out for :dondozo:.

Your team is also pretty weak to weather. The only mon that can take a bunch of weather boosted attacks is :goodra-hisui: but it doesn't have reliable recovery besides leftovers. Once Goodra goes down then your team gets steamrolled. Also, The cores on sun teams really eat you apart. Most of them run some fighting coverage like :Ceruledge: or :lilligant-hisui:. So your team is kind of in check as the combo of strong weather attackers will shred your team. An idea is to swap :goodra-hisui: for :slowking:/:slowking galar:. They will function is a pivot and will get of weather with Chilly Reception. I would go with :slowking-galar: as its unique typing provides a way to remove toxic spikes which your team doesn't have without spinning and also a good resistance to fairy. It pairs well with :cresselia: as its Levitate ability covers for Slowking-Galar's weakness too ground type attacks.

Thats all! I wish you success on the ladder. Go get em! :boi:
