Kingambit is a powerful setup attacker that you can't so easily check! Swords Dance Kingambit exploits the metagame's lack of viable Dark-type answers, making it a potent sweeper capable of cleaning up games after a boost. Kingambit’s excellent bulk allows it to set up on passive foes such as Cresselia, while its Sucker Punch pressure forces offensive foes into Protect or switching, which also makes for setup opportunities. After Terastallization, +2 Kingambit OHKOes bulky attackers such as Palafin and Heatran with Sucker Punch while forcing a defensive Terastallization from the prevalent Flutter Mane. While Tera Dark bolsters Kingambit’s offensive firepower, it also extends its longevity by dropping key weaknesses to Fire- and Ground-type attacks such as Heatran's Heat Wave and Landorus's Sandsear Storm. Supreme Overlord lets Kingambit avenge its teammates as a potent endgame sweeper, while Defiant makes it impervious to common Intimidate counterplay from the likes of Landorus-T.

the idea of Spotlights is to concisely illustrate a set's power and place in the metagame; why it functions the way it does and how it achieves the things it does. currently this spotlight is too surface level and reads like any other Swords Dance user in any tier. I've already mentioned this on discord but I'll post it here to be more clear:

With Swords Dance and powerful abilities in Supreme Overlord and Defiant, Kingambit is a powerful set-up sweeping attacker that you can't so easily check. This Kingambit set (name Swords Dance Kingambit) aims to exploit the lack of relevant resists to its Dark-type STAB attacks viable Dark-resistant foes in the metagame (atp explain what it does e.g. "being capable of cleaning up games with a Swords Dance boost and forcing Terastallization on prevalent threats such as Flutter Mane and Basculegion"). Black Glasses allows it to gain a consistent boost the damage output of both of its attacks with no drawback (this whole sentence is dex info; tie Black Glasses power boosting elsewhere if need be). Swords Dance (in what positions does Kingambit generate the pressure to freely Swords Dance?) and an offensive Tera-type of Dark (tera Dark is also quite relevant to drop your Steel-type, meaning you turn Fighting coverage such as Iron Hands Drain Punch and Chien-Pao Sacred Sword into 2HKOs, and you turn Heat Wave from Heatran & Volcanion into neutral damage) bolster Kingambit's already good damage output, turning Kingambit into a potent set-up win condition that can do good damage to everything in the tier (such as? what does it OHKO for example?), including most resists to its Dark-type STABs Dark-resistant foes (such as? which resists drop? elaborate). Sucker Punch gives Kingambit a strong priority option to work around its low speed, while Kowtow Cleave is a slightly stronger attack that can be used on opponents that are less likely to attack into it (such as? who doesn't attack into Kingambit? e.g. Cress, Amoong?). Supreme Overlord gives Kingambit a consistent power boost in endgames where when it has multiple fainted teammates, but Defiant can also be used to improve Kingambit's matchup into common Intimidate users such as Landorus-Therian.

after you implemented this we can look for style & rewriting as to stay under the word limit. currently not enough for 1/1

after implementation I find this still lacks the requisite explanation and metagame contextualization we're looking for. you also mentioned on doucord having difficulties with the character limit without rewriting it, so I took the liberty to do that using your base, hereby also implementing parts of my QC check that were omitted. you can copy/paste this for 1/1 and then send it over to the GP Team.

copypaste this for QC 1/1 and then tag GP Team

you have to let me know if you're going to omit parts of my QC check because, whether you disagree with them, struggle to implement them, or have other issues with it, we can discuss that on discord or wherever. writing is difficult but our goal is to help you write a spotlight up to qualitative standards.

a general writing tip for analyses & spotlights is: try to think about what information it conveys that isn't already self-explanatory. how does this specific Kingambit set function in this specific metagame? if you're unsure about something we have so many great players willing to help you, but you gotta ask.

Basculegion is now banned from Doubles OU which this analysis should reflect. rewrite the sentence to

"while forcing defensive Teras from prevalent threats such as Flutter Mane and Basculegion"
to
"while forcing a defensive Terastallization from the prevalent Flutter Mane" or however you choose to apply it

reach out to a GP team member if your sentence passes the grammar check
also fix the thread title & tag
