Intro
Hello again Smogon! It's yo boy Lucien here with another stupid shenanigan that'll make you laugh, make you cry, and most importantly, make you want to stop playing Pokemon. I'm talking about Dig Boom, the hot new trend that is sweeping SkarmBliss VGC PO server like the wildfires in Colorado. Dig Boom started as a joke between some key #seniors members and Maski's dad (Dadski) at Nationals this year until I made a joke team which won a good amount of the time. After some hardcore "I'm jealous of that fucker, he has three dicks!!" Skype call sessions, I made some key adjustments to Dig Boom and I have here one of the final stages of Dig Boom. I hope you enjoy this thoroughly, as I've loved every minute of playing it, win or lose, save for uber hax.
Team Building Process
I knew I needed two things for Dig Boom, a Dig user, and an Explosion / Self destruct user. I'd prefer to have the team be fast, yet still pack a punch so I decided on using Dugtrio and Landorus, due to the possibility of Smack Down Earthquack as well, which was later removed.

After my Dig Boom core was complete, I needed some much needed coverage on those god awful Steels everyone keeps using, like Metagross, Scizor, and Ferrothorn, even though they suck major ass and I 360 kareem style dunk all over your booty hole when you use them. The only viable Pokemon that checks all these noob Pokemon is Heatmor, and everyone should use Heatmor because Heatmor is the best.

Heatmor really rounded out the team, countering Metagross, Ferrothorn, Scizor, Latios and other pathetically weak Pokemon that no one should use ever, but I needed a serious counter to the rest of the stupid metagame, so I instantly thought of Dragonite with it's powerful Power Herb Fly.

After adding Dragonite, Dig Boom remained in its early stages. I played several games, beat some notable players, and continued to make small adjustments to my playstyle. It wasn't until Greysong was talking about how Magneton is gonna be the greatest thing ever on day due to its resistances and Eviolite and logical facts like that that I really considered adding another Pokemon. I decided to ignore Greysong's advice on Magneton and instead added Magnezone, because Magneton has no swag.

Now Dig Boom was only losing to hax and counter-teaming, so I needed a good Safeguard user so I wouldn't lose to Parahax. I read through the list and Meganium was the only viable Pokemon on that list, Cresselia is a piece of shit and no one should use it.

Dig Boom was complete. The team was god like and my prediction skills with it were on Jesus level / Jhud stoned level.

The Team

Landorus (Dugtrio) (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Arena Trap
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dig
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Protect
What's Dugtrio without Dig? A terrible Pokemon. Dig lets me deal minor damage to common Pokemon while shielding myself from an attack and forcing a Protect the next turn. Dig has legit benefits outside of looking stupid and pissing off Ryuzaki when we battle. Earthquake is useful for when not booming as well as disposing of Metagross and Heatran among others, while Rock Slide helps round out with some useful coverage on common Pokemon, namely Thundurus.
I'm thinking of replacing Dugtrio with perhaps Ninjask to help me get an edge on terrible Pokemon such as Latios and Cresselia, but I dunno.

Dragonite (Landorus) (M) @ Normal Gem
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Imprison
- Protect
This is the only set Landorus should be using, period. Normal Gem Explosion dunks on Garchomp's booty hole before it can do anything, while dealing 70% to Cresselia and critting my own Magnezone for a KO. Explosion wins me so many games and getting a clutch Imprison off makes booming more effective. Earthquake replaced Smack Down so Lando isn't so useless.

Meganium (Heatmor) (M) @ Fire Gem
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 84 Atk / 4 Def / 164 SAtk / 252 Spd
Rash Nature (+SpA, -SDef)
- Heat Wave
- Sucker Punch
- Fire Spin
- Protect
Why no one uses Heatmor is a mystery. Heatmor is bulky AF, tanking a

Dugtrio (Dragonite) (M) @ Power Herb
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Fly
- Dragon Claw
- Dive
- Protect
Fly is where it's at. Who doesn't like KOing Hitmontop? Who doesn't like KOing Volcarona? Who doesn't like avoiding Explosion. Idiots. Dive is also great for Heatran, Tyranitar, Metagross, and other standard shit. Dragon Claw rounds out the set with some much needed neutral damage while Multiscale lets me tank any attack and smack back.

Heatmor (Magnezone) @ Electric Gem
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Discharge
- Flash Cannon
- Protect
Magnezone is good for checking stupid Rain Teams and Cresselia. Electric Gem Crit Thunderbolt does like 98% to Cresselia. Discharge is useful for sweet paralysis, via skill, and lets me outspeed stupidly fast Pokemon. Flash Cannon lets me hard counter Terrakion and Tyranitar, two stupidly common Pokemon that are weak to everything.

Magnezone (Meganium) (M) @ Grass Gem
Trait: Overgrow
EVs: 252 HP / 124 SAtk / 132 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Safeguard
- Leaf Storm
- AncientPower
- Protect
Meganium is the glue to this team. Not only does Meganium help make me hax proof, but Meganium lets me dunk all over a bunch ofcommon shit like, Tyranitar, Rotom-W, Rain teams, Sand teams, Volcarona, Terrakion, etc, etc. Safeguard protects me from status moves like Thunder Wave and Swagger, because only I can affect you with Swagger. Grass Gem Leaf Storm is for dunking on booty holes, has a chance to OHKO certain Tyranitars in sand, while AncientPower lets me get 1337 h4x and sweep.
Endtro
Creating a master Dig Boom team is not a simple feat. Dig Boom requires research, long hours, and plenty of losses and team sculpting before you come to a respectable finished progressed. Remember, the shitty the mon is on the outside, the better it is on the inside. Experiment with Pokemon you haven't used and find something that works for you. Minutes and minutes were taken to prepare this master team, but not everyone can find the perfect Dig Boom team like I did. Dig Boom takes time, and I hope to see other Dig Boom teams cropping up in the metagame. I hope you've thoroughly enjoyed reading this SwagMT, and try Dig Boom out.
