Dialga @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Pressure
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 236 SpA / 20 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Roar of Time
- Flash Cannon
- Earth Power
- Trick Room
Dialga finds itself as a notable presence in VGC Series 8 thanks to its typing that gives it key resistances to prominent threats such as Kyogre, Zacian-C, and Regieleki and ability to become a prominent attacker under Trick Room. Roar of Time and Flash Cannon nail Steel-resistant foes such as Palkia and Fairy-types foes such as Xerneas and Grimmsnarl. They also transform into Max Wyrmwind and Max Steelspike under Dynamax, letting Dialga lower the Attack of foes such as Groudon and Ho-Oh and boost its Defense, respectively. Earth Power is crucial to handle Zacian-C and Necrozma-DM, and it becomes Max Quake, which allows Dialga to boosts its Special Defense to better take on threats such as Kyogre and Calyrex-S. Dual screens and Fake Tears support from Grimmsnarl is appreciated, enabling Dialga to successfully activate its Weakness Policy. Grass-types such as Rillaboom and Kartana are also fantastic partners, covering Dialga's weakness to problematic Ground-types like Groudon and Landorus-T.
