[OVERVIEW]

Dialga stands out as one of the metagame's premier special attackers. Its typing allows it to resist attacks from many of the metagame's common threats such as Kyogre, Zacian-C and Regieleki while it deals good damage in return. It also has access to good Dynamax options, with Max Wyrmwind, Max Quake, and Max Steelspike all bolstering its bulk. The main drawbacks to using Dialga are its reliance on team support in order to mitigate Ground-type hits from threats such as Groudon and Landorus-T, as well as its lack of spread moves, which makes it harder to pin down opposing Pokemon. Its Speed tier is also somewhat crowded at base 90, which is less than ideal for Trick Room.

[SET COMMENTS]

* Roar of Time serves as Dialga's strongest move providing a 150BP Max Wyrmwind. Draco Meteor is an alternative option as it is easier to use outside of Dynamax as it doesn't need a turn to recharge. Either move allows Dialga to hit Pokemon such as Palkia and Reshiram that would otherwise resist Flash Cannon.

* Flash Cannon provides Max Steelspike to boost Dialga's already good Defense and lets it target Fairy- and Ice-types such as Grimmsnarl, Xerneas and Calyrex-I.

* Earth Power gives Dialga coverage to break through opposing Steel-types such as Zacian-C, opposing Dialga, and Solgaleo. It also allows Dialga to use Max Quake to boost its Special Defense when Dynamaxed, allowing it to better stand up to Kyogre and Calyrex-S.

* Protect offers better positioning outside of Dynamax for generally safer play. Trick Room offers a form of speed control for the team if it does not have one already.

* Weakness Policy is the primary item as Dialga boasts a huge amount of bulk when Dynamaxed, so it can take super effective attacks to further boost its already great Special Attack. Life Orb and Adamant Orb can also be considered, as they are generally more consistent damage boosting items, but they offer less of a boost in return. Life Orb comes at the cost of recoil, but it also boosts the power of Earth Power, unlike Adamant Orb.

* 20 Speed EVs allow Dialga to outspeed maximum Speed Timid Lapras as well as Zacian-C and Calyrex-S in Tailwind.

Thunder is an alternative coverage option to better target Ho-Oh, and Kyogre to a lesser extent, although it generally isn't recommended. Dialga already combats Kyogre well due to its high special bulk and Water resistance, and often its Dragon-type STAB move will be sufficient against Ho-Oh. Also not running Earth Power makes Dialga lose access to Max Quake as its primary way to break through Steel-types.

[OVERVIEW]

Dialga is one of the premier restricted Pokemon of the current format, boasting more than adequate bulk and one of the highest Special Attack stats in the game right now (This feels like too much dex info to me, I would probably make this a little shorter). Its typing allows it to resist the STABs of many common metagame threats such as Kyogre, Zacian-Crowned and Regieleki while also dealing good damage in return. It also provides a fairly good Dynamax-friendly movepool, with Wyrmwind, Quake and Steelspike all propagating its bulk. (I would also take a few sentences to explain the negatives of using Dialga (lack of spread moves, crowded Speed tier, somewhat reliant on team support)

- Roar of Time serves as Dialga's strongest move providing a 150BP Max Wyrmwind. (something here about Draco being an alternative. It's way more useable out of Dyna which is a huge advantage).
- Flash Cannon is the preferred second STAB, also providing Max Steelspike to boost Dialga's already good Defense.

(Examples are really important for these broad overviews. Give some context on what you're best clicking Dragon or Steel moves against)
- Earth Power is the preferred third move for Dialga allowing it coverage to break through opposing Steels-types such as Zacian-Crowned, opposing Dialga and Solgaleo. It also allows Dialga to use Max Quake to boost its Special Defense in Dynamax, allowing it to better stand up to the likes of Kyogre and Calyrex-S.
- Protect offers general safety outside of Dynamax allowing for better positioning and safer play. Trick Room offers a form of sSpeed control for the team while also providing Max Guard in Dynamax (Kinda feels like fluff to me given how both of these offer Max Guard, and its common knowledge that this is what TR turns into). However, this is often dependent on the other members of the team to decide whether this option is suitable. In general, teams with slower to middling speed tiers prefer this as a pick. (This kind of reads awkward to me? I'd probably just say Dialga can run protect if the team has other Speed control, and Trick Room if not. IK there are exceptions but more often than not I feel like this is the case)
- Weakness Policy is the primary item as Dialga boasts a huge amount of bulk in Dynamax, and allows it to gain further boosts to its already great SpA. Special Attack. Life Orb and Adamant Orb are generally more consistent damage boosting items, but offer less of a boost in return. (Mention the trade off here between Life Orb's HP loss and Adamant Orb not boosting Earth power).

Thunder is also considered an option for coverage that Dialga may be willing to run, although this generally isn't recommended. Dialga already combats threats such as Kyogre well due to its high special bulk and resisting Kyogre's STAB. This should really only be considered if the rest of the team is immensely struggling against such a threat (Not super necessary here, I'd more so mention this comes at the cost Earth Power -> less effective against Steels).

Bulk Up can also be considered for a more physical Dialga set with good physical coverage with Dragon Claw, Iron Head and Earthquake. This is generally considered less effective than the special sets as it becomes prone to Intimidate as well as not exploiting Dialga's 150 SpA stat. Weakness Policy is already the primary item on this Pokemon, and thus set up sets are generally discouraged. All in all, physical Dialga does bring a fair amount of surprise factor to the ladder which can win games if the opponent is not prepared.
(I'm not big on this at all. It's okay to have a barren OO section if the Pokemon really doesn't have other options. Bulk Up is slow, weak to Intimidate and Reflect, and sort of defeats the purpose of an immediate check to Kyogre/Electrics/Steels).

- Roar of Time serves as Dialga's strongest move providing a 150BP Max Wyrmwind. Draco Meteor is an alternative option as it is easier to use outside of Dynamax as it doesn't need a turn to recharge. (An example or two of what you're hitting with Dragon-coverage would be good. Obviously there aren't really Dragon weak mons currently and in past formats Dialga actually didn't run a Dragon move, so I think this would be helpful. Specificity is really good and I'd say pretty much mandatory for all move options).

- Flash Cannon is the preferred second STAB, also providing Max Steelspike to boost Dialga's already good Defense, as well as targeting down Fairy- and Ice-types such as Grimmsnarl, Xerneas and Calyrex-Ice. (These are two different points so I think they should be two different sentences)

- Earth Power is the preferred third move for Dialga allowing it coverage to break through opposing Steel-types such as Zacian-Crowned, opposing Dialga and Solgaleo. QC 1/2 from me

there's some grammar stuff but I'm not a grammar expert so I'll delegate that to GP team

She’s clean. You’ve impressed the OG Dialga King. I would add mention of the fact that 20 speed outspeeds Zacian, Calyrex in tailwind, and also outspeeds max speed neutral nature Lapras and uninvested Groudon/Kyogre. Dialga is much more fond of outspending than being TR so, these numbers are nice to have. ALSO, 236 SpA is a bump number which is always nice.

afterwards this is QC 2/2

thank you!
