Dewey Cox story

Has anyone seen this yet? It's made by the same people that produced Superbad, Knocked Up, and presumably 40 year old virgin and Talladega nights. I saw it the other day, and thought it was fucking hilarious, as in one of the best comedy movies I've seen in a long time. It's got a ton of great puns and sarcastic wit that the more intellectual viewer will pick up on, and a lot more blunt, in-your-face humor that's guaranteed to make you laugh hysterically. I know that the previews make the movie look really gay, but honestly, FIND AN EXCUSE TO SEE THIS.

Pros: fucking hilarious, great musical references(there is a beatles scene that will have you rolling), a very, very good soundtrack

Cons: starts off a LITTLE slow. Besides that, I can't think of anything else.

5/5

And yes, I thought it was waaay better than Superbad and Knocked Up, and I thought Superbad was one of the best comedies I've seen in awhile.

not to bump an old thread, but has no one seen this yet? I realize it hasn't gotten the acclaim of Superbad but surely SOMEONE has seen this and can attest to it's awesomeness

Uh, lol, my review was pretty half-assed, but it was still far better than this, and still got deleted! It was an awesome movie.

I liked it, but I think I liked some different things about than you.
All the references to other musicians works was really good [the goat on the record -> pet sounds, his whole Bob Dylan phase, all of the 'Walk The Line' jokes, he couldn't smell which I think was a reference to Ray Charles.] I wish they had done things like that a little more, but there are a few I missed and it was relatively full of them.

I thought it was hilarious how around other [real] famous people from that time he would make a point to say their name really loud and as many times as possible, and a lot of the other musicians were really badly miscast [Jack Black - Paul McCartney]

superbad sucked.

clearly it does, its not like pretty much every highschool/college-aged kid thinks its fucking hilarious, and is also the only thing it was ever marketed to, it must not be up to your superior intellectual internet humor

im looking to see this movie again..."GET OUT OF HERE DEWEY, YOU DONT WANT NONE OF THIS SHIT"

hahahaha

The group I went with almost walked out of this...

I will say though that the "army of didgeridoos" scene was very funny, but most of the jokes were just bad imo. Eh, I don't get why Superbad is supposed to be funny either; movies like these always seem pretty hit or miss.
