**Overview**: A late round selection with considerable utility as a removal option, offensive threat, and defensive wall. Has access to numerous utility moves that can be valuable to teams such as Haze, Knock Off, Sucker Punch, Tailwind, Taunt, and U-turn. Grass- and Fighting-types with the defensive and offensive presence that Hisuian Decidueye has are valuable to giving role compression in plenty of matchups, making it an excellent choice to round out a team. Triple Arrows is the signature move of Hisuian Decidueye and is arguably one of the best moves in the game, generating plenty of opportunities to capitalize on its boosted ability to flinch, drop defense, or crit.

Common Roles
========
**Offensive Utility**: Offensive Utility Hisuian Decidueye can generate plenty of momentum for a team by using its dual-typing to switch into attacks before healing with Roost, removing entry hazards with Defog, removing items with Knock Off, and using Triple Arrows or U-turn to generate offensive pressure. Can also run priority in the form of Sucker Punch or Upper Hand to handle opposing setup sweepers who are in range or Taunt to prevent entry hazards from going up or attempts at healing.

**Offensive Breaker**: Hisuian Decidueye can setup with Swords Dance and threaten to clean teams late with access to the speed-boosting Trailblaze as well as strong attacks and priority in Brave Bird, Shadow Sneak, Sucker Punch, and Triple Arrows. Facade can be used to take advantage of attempts to status Hisuian Decidueye and Bulk Up works with Roost to form a very difficult to bring down offensive powerhouse.

**Rock Tomb**: Rock Tomb gives Hisuian Decidueye a meaningful way of dealing with incoming Flying-types, notably Moltres, Talonflame, and Zapdos, without risking contact to activate Flame Body or Static.

**Dual Wingbeat**: Dual Wingbeat can be used to both give Hisuian Decidueye coverage in the form of a Flying-type attack while also being able to deal damage into opposing Disguise or Substitute Pokemon like Mimikyu or Suicune.

Common Items

**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Utility Hisuian Decidueye that are used as the main form of removal often run Heavy-Duty Boots to prevent getting worn down from entry hazards while attempting to remove them from the field.

**Damage-boosting Items**: Given how offensive Hisuian Decidueye can be with its access to great STAB attacks and coverage, Damage-boosting Items like Choice Band, Expert Belt, and Life Orb can be used to give offensive sets more breaking power.

Niche Items

**Assault Vest**: Hisuian Decidueye has great natural bulk to compliment its excellent dual-typing, so Assault Vest can further give it means of switching into special attackers.

**Salac Berry**: Offensive setup variants can use Salac Berry over Trailblaze to give Hisuian Decidueye a Speed boost, making its offensive coverage even more imposing.

Tera
========
Hisuian Decidueye can use Tera offensively or defensively, notably using Tera Steel defensively to flip weaknesses to Fairy- and Psychic-type attacks into resistances and giving an immunity to Poison-type attacks. Tera Dark can be used offensively to give boosted damage to Knock Off and Sucker Punch while becoming immune to Psychic-type attacks.

Draft Strategy
========
The main advantage of drafting Hisuian Decidueye is the versatility it gives teams in the builder. You can use Hisuian Decidueye in defensive or offensive structures given its vast coverage in moves and access to reliably recovery. As a late round selection, it also gives access to entry hazard removal and priority, two critical elements into many matchups you'll face in a draft setting.

**Entry Hazards*: Pairing offensive Hisuian Decidueye with teammates that can stack entry hazards makes switching into its litany of strong offensive moves difficult, especially since it can remove Heavy-Duty Boots with Knock Off.

**Choice-locked Breakers**: Slower utility Hisuian Decidueye can remove entry hazards and provide safe entry for Choice-locked teammates like Choice Band Roaring Moon, Choice Specs Enamorus-Therian, and other hazard weak teammates who need to enter the field multiple times to break opposing teams.

Checks and Counters
========
**Poison- and Flying-types**: Despite having strong coverage options for attacks, Poison- and Flying-types can often check Hisuian Decidueye comfortably, using their resistance to both of its STAB attacks to switch into attacks and threaten to deal significant damage.

**Contact Abilities**: Pokemon with access to abilities like Flame Body, Static, and Weak Armor can use their ability defensively to punish Leaf Blade and Knock Off attempts, leaving Hisuian Decidueye statused and much less effective.
