Description of New Abilities:

Description of New Moves: Ice coverage given to match its new typing: Icicle Crash being its primary STAB. Lot of new coverage in Brave Bird, Poison Jab, Iron head.
Dynamaxing potential
-Dynamax makes this Pokemon a lethal Choiced attacker, with the choice locking being removed upon Dynamax. It already is choice locked with its ability, might as well toss another lock onto it with no downside.
-Having an unrivaled Attack stat, great coverage (including +Atk Fighting) and decent speed tier allow this Pokemon to easily snowball out of control.
Potential Movesets
Scarf Attacker
Darmanitan @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Gorilla Tactics
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant/Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Superpower/Hammer Arm
- Flare Blitz/Earthquake/Stone Edge
- U-turn
Choice Scarf allows its middling speed tier to be remedied, with no opportunity cost due to its ability anyways. You can have the best of both worlds, with incredible attacking power alongside a top speed tier in an unboosted environment. Icicle Crash and U-turn are the only requirements in my opinion, to get maximum damage and pivoting. The other moves are quite customizable, but I would err on having the fighting STAB to get the +Attack boost with fantastic coverage of Ice/Fighting.
Banded Attacker
Darmanitan @ Choice Band
Ability: Gorilla Tactics
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Superpower/Hammer Arm
- U-turn
- Flare Blitz/Earthquake/Stone Edge
This Gorilla set really brings the pain. Band on Band puts this guy's attack stat to the ceiling, making even resisted Icicle Crash take chunks out of the heftiest walls. Example: Darmanitan vs Avalugg:
+1 252 Atk Choice Band Darmanitan Icicle Crash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Avalugg: 40-48 (19.8 - 23.7%) -- possible 5HKO. Imagine doing >20% with a physical Ice move vs Avalugg.
In contrast, Mamoswine vs Avalugg: 252 Atk Mamoswine Icicle Crash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Avalugg: 17-21 (8.4 - 10.3%) -- possibly the worst move ever.
The other moves are pretty customizable, including u-turn, which I think is no longer is a requirement because Band-Darmanitan can outright sweep a lot of weakened teams and doesn't need to pivot out much.
Other comments
-How do you wall this guy? You essentially have to outspeed him to win, which is his only true weakness. Scarf remedies this a lot. Setting webs also works really well for the Banded set.
-Watch out for Pokemon like Barraskewda, who can manipulate their speed to beat you out.
-Baiting out your Dynamax is going to be common. Plenty of people will Max Guard and leave you in an awkward place being Choice Locked. Not the worst place in the world to be, but it is good to keep in mind when thinking about sweeping scenarios.
