SS OU Dancing In the Rain

Hey guys it has been a whole year since I’ve played Pokémon and I’ve recently gotten back into Pokémon and whipped up this rain team for the ladder.
And heres the squad :)

Pelipper @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Roost
- U-turn
- Hurricane
So I needed a rain setter and the best default rain setter is pelipper in my opinion. Hurricane deals with grass types, scald to fish for burns, roost to heal up to set rain later and u-turn to set the rain and get out of there.

Seismitoad @ Choice Specs
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Earth Power
- Focus Blast
- Scald
Second up is seismitoad. I thought I would set up rain and immediately go into a rain abuser and seismitoad is the perfect pick. It deals with electric types and even has focus blast to deal with opposing Ferrothorn’s.

Drednaw-Gmax @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Liquidation
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge
My third pick is drednaw, another rain abuser. It can deal with opposing flying types easily with stone edge and set up with swords dance and sweep with liquidation. And has earthquake too, to deal with Toxapex.

Dracovish @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Strong Jaw
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fishious Rend
- Outrage
- Psychic Fangs
- Earthquake
My fourth pick is dracovish. Fishious Rend is broken, period, it does so much damage if you can out speed, hence the scarf, and does so much more damage in the rain. I put Outrage for coverage , psychic fangs for Toxapex, and earthquake to deal with electric types.

Gyarados @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Power Whip
- Dragon Dance
- Bounce
My fifth pick is Gyarados. Gyarados is one of the best sweepers out right now and especially in the rain. In this gen it got power whip to deal with rotom ‘s which is pretty broken. Dragon dance to set up and bounce to deal with grass types, and if we are able to dynamax it does so much damage and even gives us plus one speed.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 24 Def / 232 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
My final pick is Ferrothorn. Ferrothorn is basically a staple on rain teams because of its ability to deal with electric types and it’s ability to thrive against fire type moves because of rain. It is also a good rock setter. For this set, I just use the standard, rocks to set up, leech seed to get health back, gyro ball to deal with fairy types, and power whip to deal with water, rock, and ground types.

Conclusion: overall I think my rain team is pretty good but I do need a couple of suggestions and fixes to it. And excuse the quality since I’m on a phone, I will be updating this later today :). Thank you for your time guys, have a good one!
