I decided to make a comeback to BSS because I really like the restricted legendary formats TPCi force us to play after a game has been out for a while, mostly because the strong stuff is so polarizing and weird niche mons get a legit use. Stuff like Umbreon, Ditto, and Shedinja that don't see much use in 'normal' formats become strong picks to counter specific legendaries. Well now there is a new contender.....

Being immune to Fire (Well-Baked Body) and Dragon, and resisting Fighting makes this a legit check to one of the most used restricted Legendaries; Koraidon! There would be literally zero reason to run it otherwise. That being said; it isn't run. DragonWhale has point out several times that this has failed to crack the top 150 most used Pokemon in Reg G BSS... So I figured if I was going to play BSS again it would be by using this to crawl back to master rank.

:dachsbun: :espathra:
Since I was hoping to gain Defence boosts on Dachsbun and it having access to Baton Pass, I wanted to use something that could boost other crucial stats so that a third Pokemon could end up sweeping. I hadn't used Espathra earlier in the generation when I was still playing so I thought the Calm Mind passer build would synergise well.

:dachsbun: :espathra: + :kyogre: :basculegion:
This was pretty simply because I had a perfect IV Kyogre in my old Alpha Sapphire that I had hunted back in the day but never used. I figured it would be a good Baton Pass receiver... Basculegion seemed like a cool option in the back for cleaning up matches after Kyogre went down.

:dachsbun: :espathra: :kyogre: :basculegion: + :gholdengo: or :flutter-mane:
I wanted something that actually baited Fire moves from Koraidon while also making use of potential Baton Pass. Flutter Mane was pretty good but Gholdengo's Good as Gold ability came in handy far more often.

:dachsbun: :espathra: :kyogre: :basculegion: :gholdengo: + :excadrill: or :ursaluna-bloodmoon: or :blissey:
At this point I was getting cooked by Calyrex Shadow and Miraidon. I had started with Excadrill before I ran into several Calyrex Shadow because it could set Stealth Rock for Basculegion to clean up after Kyogre, and could receive a Baton Pass and Swords Dance to sweep itself. Calyrex made me test Ursaluna-Bloodmoon which was a really nice addition, however the team was desperately lacking Stealth Rock. I ended up using Stealth Rock, Calm Mind, Softboiled, Alluring Voice Tera Fairy Blissey which was kinda amazing.

:dachsbun: :espathra: :kyogre: :basculegion: :gholdengo: :blissey:
This was the team for a while but it just wasn't clicking. Basculegion relying on Rain was a bit of a wasted slot and Kyogre was struggling to receive boosts from Espathra. I was stuck in Great Ball rank against players borrowing top Japanese rental codes but piloting them in unexpected ways. I was really happy with Dachsbun, Espathra and Gholdengo though so I rebuilt from there.

:dachsbun: :espathra: :gholdengo: + :terapagos:
I needed a restricted legendary that could receive Baton Pass better, and better coverage for sweeping. Terapagos' ability treating incoming attacks as not very effective while at full is very strong, and Stellar Tera Starstorm is able to sweep very easily.

:dachsbun: :espathra: :gholdengo: :terapagos: + :urshifu-rapid-strike:
Getting walled by SubProtect Gliscor for 20 minutes was seriously unfun, and I was getting owned by Chien-Pao so I added on a slow bulky water Urshifu with Swords Dance to address that.

:dachsbun: :espathra: :gholdengo: :terapagos: :urshifu-rapid-strike: + :ting-lu:
I didn't need another Baton Pass receiver so Blissey felt a bit excessive. I needed just a straight up good Pokemon to round out the team. Whirlwind helped me force a better Espathra matchup which was great, but the typing is what the team really needed.

Dachsbun | Rocky Helmet | Well-Baked Body
Impish | 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Body Press | Wish | Protect | Baton Pass

Literally walls Koraidon!! Okay except Iron Head but who actually runs that? You can Protect to scout but it sucks when they just hard switch and you get nothing done with the turn. With max defence it does take hits from other physical attackers decently and can Wish pass to something else. I wanted to run Yawn but couldn't fit it.

Espathra | Focus Sash | Speed Boost
Timid | 252 SpA / 4 SpD | 252 Spe
Lumina Crash | Protect | Calm Mind | Baton Pass

Just your stock-standard Calm Mind passer. Lumina Crash over Stored Power meant I could go for damage without any boosts, and the sharp SpD drop is so clutch for Terapgos. Really handy for opposing Calm Mind boosters. Tera Ghost is just for Extreme Speed as Dragonite is very popular.

Gholdengo | Leftovers | Good as Gold
Bold | 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe
Hex | Focus Blast | Thunder Wave | Recover

As a Baton Pass enjoyer I have loved this since it came out I used a SubSalac NP set on my first SV BSS team which abused Minimize Drifblim as it could not be phased out. This one is meant to be more of a standalone set that disrupts the other team, while also being pretty good after a Baton Pass. Focus Blast is such a huge bummer though. This thing doesn't actually beat Whirlwind Ting-Lu. I want to try a different fourth move but haven't decided yet.

Terapagos | Heavy-Duty Boots | Tera Shell / Teraform Zero
Modest | 116 HP / 252 SpA / 140 Spe
Tera Starstorm | Flamethrower | Dark Pulse | Calm Mind
__________________________________________________________

I feel like this is designed for Baton Pass sweeping. Its speed stat is a bit of a bummer so a lot of players run stuff like Rock Polish with Power Herb Meteor Beam for sweeping. Opting for Baton Pass allowed me to use actually good filler moves which were very important for occasions where I couldn't terastalise. Flamethrower dealing with Scizor and Dark Pulse for Calyrex Shadow specifically however the two moves were great outside that.

Urshifu | Protective Pads | Unseen Fist
Impish | 244 HP / 20 Atk / 156 Def / 36 SpD / 52 Spe
Surging Strikes | Drain Punch | Thunder Punch | Swords Dance
_________________________________________________________________

Like I said in the teambuilding section; I really just needed a way to deal with Substitute Gliscor which seemed to be insanely popular. It also gave an option for dealing with Chien-Pao which was otherwise being super annoying to deal with. I grabbed the EVs off the strategy dex which were recommended specifically for Chien-Pao. I opted for Tera Electric Thunder Punch to deal with Primarina and Dondozo, but Dondozo seems to still take way too little damage. I might have preferred Ice Punch or Trailblaze.

Ting-Lu | Sitrus Berry | Vessel of Ruin
Impish | 252 HP / 156 Def / 100 SpD
Earthquake | Ruination | Stealth Rock | Whirlwind

I lost to this thing too many times so I just had to add it onto the team itself. Incredibly tanky and just shuffles the enemy team around until you get a matchup that you can take advantage of. The Terapagos wasn't always running Boots so Tera Poison was really great for removing Toxic Spikes, but even without needing that so much anymore it's still a great defensive typing so I didn't change it.

That's pretty much it! I've been testing out some other weird teams but I haven't been satisfied enough with them to post yet, and this was the funniest because of Dachsbun. I built off old-gen Villilon / Butterfree cores that were pretty fun and used Tera Fairy Electivire to beat Miraidon, as well as updating Galarian Weezing + Drifblim + Zekrom for the new gen but it's struggling at the moment. If they get some success on stream I'll be sure to post here but for now I'm busy with work and the small amount of game time goes to Pokemon UNITE sadly...

This is definitely a very Can’t Say team. I don’t really have any suggestions as I’m not one that strays too far from “the standards” lmao.

I do think that if you’re looking for a BP recipient that can handle Dondozo, it’s worth giving Ogerpon Hearthflame a shot. Since you’d be passing it speed most of the time you’d be able to reasonably pump it’s bulk with little consequence and Mold Breaker + Grass STAB would be very difficult for Dondozo teams to deal with since they usually just rely on it to hard wall most physical attackers.

I wouldn't know about Dachsbun's real value, despite having trained one VERY early in the gen. I will say that I really like that terapagos is your restricted, as koraidon is the main thing keeping it from being top tier imo.
