ORAS UU (Cre)Hate, A Common Threat Core

How goes it fellow Pokemon meta-game players? I haven't made one of these in quite some time, so bear with me on my mediocre presentation/descriptions, i'm not great with in depth explanations. Before you read this over, realize that I wasn't exactly intending to re-invent the wheel with this team, but rather take some of the top threats of the ORAS UU tier and create an effective, well balanced team that can (attempt to) stand up to other top tier threats and be overall successful. So without further adieu, I present you with my team. (also note that this is a PO team, not PS)

The breakdown

Terrakion @ Focus Sash
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Taunt
- Close Combat
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge

Ah, Terrakion, my personal favorite of the legendary lions, and a fun lead in the UU tier. As you'll see with most of the team, the overall makeup of the Pokemon is rather standard. Focus Sash is key to the effectiveness of this set, because Terrakion isn't exactly the king of taking hits(especially after a Close Combat or two), so if nothing else, it ensures I get to set up my entry hazard of choice,Stealth Rock. Jolly nature is key to, if nothing else, ensuring a speed-tie among other Terra's. Taunt is an optional move in this set honestly, and some may prefer to run EQ, but as a lead, I like to have the chance to block other leads from setting up the hazards that wreak havoc on pieces of my team. CC and Stone Edge are standard STAB moves used to maximize this guy's sweeping potential, should it get the chance to do more than set-up.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 180 HP / 72 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Wish
- U-turn
- Iron Head
- Thunder Wave

The great hax spammer we all know and love (or hate, depending on which side of it you're on), Jirachi.
What's not to love about this guy, I mean it can be a straight up thorn in the side of some people's teams. It fills a nice niche on this team as a Wish-passer, making it a key utility/pivot Pokemon that can heal itself in lengthly standoffs, or get out of dodge and pass the Wish onto a more needy ally. Iron Head becomes leaps and bounds more fun with Serene Grace to up that flinch rate, and when you combine that with T-wave, its just a big ol' hax party when Jirachi takes the stage. (Side note: The EV spread of this isn't made to match up particularly against certain threats, so if there are things I can do to improve upon that, i'm open for suggestions.)

Umbreon @ Leftovers
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Protect
- Foul Play
- Heal Bell
- Wish
The dark dog, Umbreon is the next member of the crew. Umbreon represents the second half of my bulk/utility core, and is represents it well. This is a tough one to really explain in detail, as most of it speaks for itself honestly. The fact that it takes hits well really makes it a nice choice in a utility role to heal up the rest of my team. Foul Play prevents physically offensive threats from rolling through my team without a roadblock, and hits them hard. Heal Bell has become a staple for most teams, taking care of the various status threats in UU. Wish, as was with Jirachi, can be helpful in both replenishing allie's health or healing itself up. Protect is no less important than any other move in this set, allowing leftovers to heal you slightly between attacks/giving Wish a chance to take effect and allow you to continue on.

salamence_by_all0412-d4j7bx4.jpg

Salamence @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Iron Tail

When I think of imposing physical threats in the UU tier, Moxie ScarfMence is the first Pokemon to pop into my head, as i'm sure it does with many of you. Choice Scarf on-top of Jolly nature are in place to ensure that I outspeed just about every threat to this that comes to mind (and speed tie other moxie scarfmences with jolly nature). EQ just seems to make the most sense of the options out there on this set behind the other moves honestly, I don't have fantastic reasoning for it. Outrage is the most effective sweeping move in this set, but if you see an imposing threat that could switch in during/after the series of 2-3 attacks, Dragon Claw is there to ensure you aren't stuck. Finally, Iron Tail ensures that if you're stuck taking on a Fairy, this typically strong Pokemon doesn't become dead weight.

mega_pidgeot_by_wraithwolves-d83ajz9.jpg

Pidgeot @ Pidgeotite
Trait: Big Pecks
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Heat Wave
- U-turn
- Roost

Pidgeot has always been in my top 5 favorite Pokemon, so I was naturally thrilled when it got a mega-evolution and finally established a role in the meta-game, an effective special sweeper. Max Spd and SAtk stats to maximize it's sweeping potential, naturally. Hurricane is an amazing move when paired with No-Guard, not only being a hard hitting STAB but occasionally confusing the opponent as well. Heat Wave is a nice choice for the second move to deal with pesky steel types that flying moves simply don't touch. U-turn is a nice insurance policy considering it's fast enough, if something comes in that it won't fair well against, do a little damage and get out of there. Finally, Roost is an incredibly handy tool in that it allows you to not entirely rely on Jirachi or Umbreon to keep yourself alive, which is especially handy when Pidgeot is your last pokemon standing.

don_krieg_the_nidoking_by_hawke525-d2yvv0n.png

Nidoking @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Earth Power
- Sludge Wave
Last, but as the cliche goes, certainly not least, we have Nidoking. This guy has a great move pool, one of the best in the game in my opinion. He's essentially a coverage machine, offering up in areas that this team lacks otherwise, and using Life Orb takes full advantage of the sweeping potential. Earth Power is the ground STAB move of choice on him, naturally. Sludge Wave is the poison STAB move of choice, also pretty common sense, making him a clear fairy repellent. T-Bolt and Ice Beam make up the final 2 moves of this set, rounding off a pretty well covered special sweeper than can take unprepared players by storm.

And THAT, my friends, is what makes up my UU team I present to you today. Like I said, there's no new, ground breaking sets here, just a team that I expect to have relative success with. It should be noted that there are a few things that cause issues, such as not having defog/a spinner for entry hazards, and heavily stall-based teams can be a bit of a conundrum. I also am experienced with damage calcs so i'm not 100% im using my EV spreads as effectively as possible, so I'm hoping maybe someone out there has a creative idea or two that could be of use to making this team go from good to great. Any thoughts or advice would greatly be appreciated, thank you!

PO? that doest follow the same rules as smogon , if it doesnt i dont think people can rate it as well

The rules aren't so different that it's impossible to rate honestly. PO typically follows what smogon/PS do, not immediately but it tends to fall that way. Regardless, i'm just looking for the BEST possible feedback I can achieve so I can maximize the effectiveness of my team.
