Clefable can provide teams with a lot of utility; it's a very good check to Pokemon such as Dragapult, Kyurem, Hydreigon, and Conkeldurr,(AC) and it can support teams through various other ways with Wish, Stealth Rock, and Knock Off. Wish is a great support move that allows Clefable to keep teammates that lack recovery such as Ferrothorn,(Leech Seed Ferrothorn is a set, so I don't know if this is a great mention) Excadrill, and Kommo-o healthy over the course of the match. Stealth Rock can be used instead if Clefable's team can't fit it anywhere else. Knock Off and Thunder Wave are both options that can be used to cripple checks like Toxapex, Corviknight, and Gengar. It's worth noting that Thunder Wave can also prove to be useful against opposing Calm Mind Clefable. Flamethrower can be useful in wearing down Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, Aegislash, and Excadrill. Encore can be run to punish Pokemon like Calm Mind Clefable and Reuniclus, as well as some other passive Pokemon such as Toxapex. Lastly, you can consider Aromatherapy or Heal Bell too if your team would appreciate cleric support; it's particularly useful alongside Pokemon that are prone to being crippled by a status affliction like Toxapex, Corviknight, Seismitoad, and Hydreigon.

Full Special Defense investment alongside a Calm nature is generally prefered preferred to take on Dragapult, Kyurem, and Hydreigon. Alternatively, a Bold nature in tandem with maximum Defense investment can be run to give the most leeway around Conkeldurr and Terrakion.

Clefable fits best onto balance teams that are looking for the role compression it can bring to the table with moves like Wish, Stealth Rock, and Knock Off while checking various threats such as Conkeldurr and Dragapult. Pokemon that lack reliable recovery, like Excadrill, Kommo-o, and Seismitoad,(AC) appreciate Clefable's ability to keep them healthy with Wish. Pokemon that may struggle to break past Toxapex and Corviknight, such as Aegislash and Excadrill, benefit greatly from Clefable's ability to cripple them with Knock Off, which makes the aforementioned Pokemon significantly easier to pressure and ultimately break through.
