Choice Specs Iron Valiant is a potent wallbreaker, boasting powerful STAB moves and colourful coverage options, which make it extremely difficult to check it defensively. Furthermore, its great natural Speed stat allows it to force out numerous threats in the tier such as Mega Medicham and Urshifu-R. Thunderbolt nails Toxapex, while also hitting Corviknight and Volcarona without risking a miss. Shadow Ball lets Iron Valiant pressure Galarian Slowking, while being generally risk-free due to its lack of sturdy resists. Trick is an option to cripple passive checks like Toxapex and Clodsire, heavily impeding their ability to act as an effective defensive piece. Tera Fairy boosts Iron Valiant’s Moonblast to impressive levels, denting even sturdy resists like Mega Scizor hard, while Tera Ghost makes Shadow Ball as spammable as its STAB moves and is extremely effective due to the lack of common Pokemon resistant or immune to Ghost; however, this does make it prone to being Pursuit trapped by Weavile and Mega Tyranitar. Iron Valiant appreciates pivoting support from Pokemon like Landorus-T, Tornadus-T, and Tapu Koko to constantly bring it in on foes like opposing Landorus-T and Raging Bolt. Tapu Koko’s Electric Surge also activates Quark Drive, making it significantly harder to revenge kill Iron Valiant with otherwise dangerous revenge killers such as Mega Lopunny and Choice Scarf Kartana. Mega Tyranitar, Weavile, and Galarian Slowking are also good partners, as they can remove or pressure Iron Valiant’s biggest checks in opposing Galarian Slowking and Toxapex. Entry hazard support from Ferrothorn, Hisuian Samurott, and Garchomp is also important, as they can wear down Iron Valiant’s less sturdy checks such as Heatran, opposing Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor very quickly. Lastly, offensive teammates like Ogerpon-W, Mega Latios, and Raging Bolt work really well with Iron Valiant as they can easily overload their shared checks like Ferrothorn, Galarian Slowking, and Heatran together.
