Haxorus is a great Choice Scarf user because of its high Attack and Speed stats and ability Mold Breaker, which allows it to ignore abilities such as Sturdy and Disguise in order to beat non-bulky Sawk and Mimikyu. Outrage allows Haxorus to beat non-Haban Berry Dragon-types including Dragapult. Close Combat allows Haxorus to take on Galarian Darmanitan and Tyranitar. Iron Tail allows Haxorus to OHKO Mimikyu, though the move can be unreliable. Poison Jab is used to secure the OHKO against Whimsicott. Earthquake can be used over Poison Jab to give Haxorus a way to beat bulky Rotom-H and Rotom-W. Using a Jolly nature with maximum Speed EVs and a Choice Scarf allows Haxorus to outpace Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan and Dracovish along with non-Choice Scarf Pokemon such as Dragapult, Hydreigon, and Gengar; it also lets Haxorus secure the mirror matchup versus all other variants of Haxorus and win half of the time against opposing Choice Scarf Haxorus. Unnerve can be used to get past the commonplace Haban Berry users like Dragapult and Dracovish, though this is not preferred over Mold Breaker due to losing out on a lot of Sturdy Pokemon matchups, which are vastly more important than these.
Haxorus struggles with taking on Fairy-types such as Sylveon and Aromatisse that have mitigating measures to Iron Tail, so Steel- and Poison-types such as Aegislash and Galarian Weezing makes great partners for it. In return, Haxorus can take on Choice Band Dracovish and Indeedee-F for them. Haxorus also struggles with faster Choice Scarf Dragon-types such as Hydreigon and Dragapult, so non-Curse Mimikyu, Vaporeon, and Tyranitar help greatly with these threats. Haxorus also struggles against common stall and bulky Pokemon such as Corviknight, Galarian Corsola, Arcanine, and Aegislash, so having partners to pressure them such as Liechi Berry Cinderace, Choice Specs Chandelure, and Gastrodon helps greatly in these matchups.
