ORAS OU Charizard Y Sweep Team

Hi everyone.
I have been trying out several sets for Charizard-Y, and have come up with at least two of the best for me. These sets, unfortunately, are not enough to enter 1300+ range. Please do suggest anything that would be helpful.

Thank you!
-------------------------
Dragneel (Charizard-Mega-Y) (M) @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Drought
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Focus Blast
- Solar Beam
- Hidden Power [Ice]

The star of the show. The Special Sweeper. Fast enough to take out most opponents slower than it. Hidden Power Ice kills a slower Garchomp, damaged Dragonite, Gliscor, and even Lando-T if lucky.

Kiki (Klefki) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 248 SpD
Calm Nature
- Magnet Rise
- Foul Play
- Thunder Wave
- Magic Coat
The anti-speedy pokemon. Switch in, Thunder Wave, switch out. Bye bye DD Charizard X, especially! Magic coat mainly for predicting SR and other entry hazards.

Pacquiao (Breloom) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Swords Dance
Physical Sweeper number 1. Come in, put enemy to sleep, set up Swords Dance, prepare to Mach Punch or Bullet Seed your foes, if lucky enough not to get burned.

PikaBlu (Azumarill) (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Waterfall
- Superpower
The Dragon Killer. Anti-Dragon and Tank. Assault Vest helps in tanking most attacks that would've killed Charizard, and then revenge kill in return.

Serpentina (Serperior) (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Contrary
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Giga Drain
The Second Special Sweeper. Set up Leaf Storm, Sweep the floor with them. However, kinda frail and it tends to get easily KO'd since I don't have any support for her..

Snap (Drapion) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Battle Armor
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Acupressure
- Substitute
- Poison Jab
- Night Slash
This guy is a wild card. Substitute --> Acupressure, increase stats. If lucky enough to get the right stats up, watch him sweep. The Second Physical Sweeper of this team. Battle Armor to prevent Crits from one-shotting him.
-------------------

As you all can see, Charizard Y serves only to sweep fast; I do not have a defogger nor a spinner, so I rely more on Klefki's Magic Coat + Prediction, which is risky. Also, I tend to rely on luck. I do need help.

Do you have any suggestions? Complete Overhaul?

Thank you!

This team looks mostly good, outside of Drapion. Judging from the fact that you have only two posts, you are reletively new to competitive Pokemon, so I think you should attempt to stick to standard sets. Drapion essentially isn't viable in OU, so recommend choosing Tyranitar>Drapion. Tyranitar is an extremely ideal partner for mega Charizard Y, as it can check the Lati twins and trap them with pursuit. It can also set up stealth rock for your team, which is absolutely necessary on any team in OU. Speaking of stealth rock, you absolutely cannot run Mega Charizard Y without hazard removal. Which leads me to my next suggestion. Excadrill>Breloom or Serperior. You don't need two grass types. I'd recommend dropping serperior, but it's really up to you. If you choose to keep serperior, run life orb eve the focus sash. Okay, serperior' bulk is bad, but not so bad that in needs the focus sash. It can take most neutral hits that don't come from terrifically powerful attackers, and you lose out on a lot of power without the life orb. I actually kinda like the idea of HP ice on Charizard Y, but keep in mind that losing roost is a sacrifice. Finally, you should probably run HP fire over HP ground on Serperior. Yeah, hitting heatran is cool. But it's all for naught anyway if it's holding the air balloon and you already have several ways to inflict massive damage on tran with Focus Blast from Charizard Y, Mach Punch from Breloom, and Waterfall from Azumarril.

Tl;dr
  • TTar over Drapion (preferably the support set)
  • Excadrill over one of your grass types to spin and take advantage of the sand provided by Tar
  • Life Orb over focus sash on Serperior, as well as HP fire over HP ground
Optional:
  • Roost over HP ice on Mega Charizard Y
  • Fist Plate over Life orb on Breloom
  • Spikes over magnet rise or magic coat on Klefki
I particularly like fist plate Breloom to take less damage while setting up on Hippo or Gliscor. Wishing you good luck in future battles and hope I helped :)

Hello jvboytheman !

Unfortunately, this RMT is currently not following the rules which can be found in the RMT Resource Thread; specifically, this thread violates rule #4, because you lack sufficient descriptions for each Pokemon on your team. As such, I am afraid that I will have to lock this thread for the time being. If you would like this thread to be reopened, feel free to PM me with your updated RMT, and I would be happy to reopen this thread for you. If you need help making an RMT up to the required standards, I recommend that you carefully read the RMT Resource Thread and check out other RMTs from the Team Showcase and RMT Archive for some examples.

Good luck with your team, and have a nice day!
