ORAS OU Champions Team

I've tried building themed teams before, but more often than not they just end up falling through the cracks. This is one of the few that have actually worked... sort of. This is a team built entirely out of the main heavies from all the Pokemon champions. I've been able to win a couple battles with it, but there's always room for improvement. Here is my team as it is currently:

Lance (Dragonite) @ Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Roost
- Thunder Punch
- Dragon Dance

I started off with a pretty basic tanky Dragonite build. I decided to go with Thunder Punch instead of Fire/Ice because I already have fire and ice coverage with Milotic, Garchomp and Volcarona. Probably not the greatest idea though because this doesn't really have any way to counter ice types. I think this needs the most improvement out of all of them.

Steven (Metagross-Mega) @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Meteor Mash
- Pursuit
- Zen Headbutt

Another basic Metagross build, with this one having more emphasis on speed. A lot of people have suggested Pursuit for trapping and countering Ghost and Fighting types, but honestly I've never been a huge fan of this move. Thinking about switching it either Hammer Arm or Rock Polish.

Wallace (Milotic) @ Leftovers
Ability: Cute Charm
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Scald
- Toxic

My main defensive. I started off with Smogon's suggested build, but switched out Haze for Toxic since I like afflicting statuses, and switched Marvel Scale for Cute Charm for more or less the same reason.

Cynthia (Garchomp) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Fire Fang
- Outrage
- Stealth Rock

Again, started off with the suggested Smogon build, but used Fire Fang instead of Fire Blast because of Garchomp's high physical attack. I normally like to open with this, setting up Stealth Rock and chipping away hit points with Rough Skin/Rocky Helmet.

Adler (Volcarona) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Fiery Dance
- Giga Drain
- Quiver Dance

My special sweeper. I knew going in that giving your Volcarona Bug Buzz, Fiery Dance and Quiver Dance is a no brainer. I agonized over what the fourth move should be, but I ultimately went with Giga Drain for HP recovery. Considering replacing Leftovers with Life Orb.

Diantha (Gardevoir-Mega) @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Calm Mind
- Will-O-Wisp

Another pretty basic Gardevoir build. Normally I like to use this as a late game wallbreaker. Needs something to counter steel types (Will-O-Wisp kind of helps).

Thoughts?

Ehy :)
My suggest is to change dragonite set's in Choice Band. 252 Attack EVs maximize Dragonite's offensive potential, allowing it to hit extremely hard. 252 Speed EVs with a Jolly nature maximize Dragonite's Speed and allow it to outspeed neutral-natured base 80 Speed Pokemon and Jolly Mega Heracross. An Adamant nature, however, is typically preferred to increase Dragonite's damage output, which is especially relevant when revenge killing foes with Extreme Speed.
Dragonite @ Choice Band
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Extreme Speed
- Fire Punch
- Earthquake

Change Latias>milotic because Volcarona needs to Support of Defog, and your team is weak at rotom and Manecrit.

Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SPa / 252 Speed
Timid Nature
- Roost
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Defog

Change the set of Garchomp on impish 248 HP / 176 Def / 92 Speed. This spread is a very good because help vs physical sweeper.
Garchomp @ Rocky helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 240 HP / 176 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Dragon Tile
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake

Change the set on Volcarona in 72 HP / 252 Spa / 184 Spee Timid. This spread Allow Volcarona to outspeed Choice Scarf Landorus at +1 and anything under base 92 Speed.
Volcarona @ Lum Berry
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 72 HP / 252 Spa / 184 Spee
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Quiver Dance
- Giga Drain
- Bug Buzz
Two megapokomon are unnecessary, change Gardevoir on Raikou that help you vs Tornadus-T that is a very threat for the team.
Raikou @ Assulut Vest
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 Sdef / 252 Spee
Timid Nature

EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake

The EV spread avoids the 2HKO from Life Orb Thundurus's and Mega Manectric's Hidden Power Ice.

Excadrill>Dragonite because is a very good revegekiller and help you vs Diancie and Altaria
Excadrill @ Air Ballon
Ability: Sand Rush

I tried pretty hard to think of decent suggestions without breaking the theme of your team. I managed to keep the typing for one and also only making one serious change, I think. Your team is weak to a lot common threats as it is. Mega Slowbro, Lando-T, Zard-X, Mega Mane, etc. And, having two megas is never a good idea for a team. Just looking at that, I figure you can change mega Garde for CM+MG Clefable. This will allow you to keep fairy typing and calm mind, so you have more than one wincon in a match, and Mega Metagross and Clef have pretty good synergy. Looking at the team after that change, you are still very weak to Zard-X after one DD. You can solve this problem by switching Garchomp to the Choice Scarfed set. It is imperative that you keep the timid nature, as you will be able to outspeed all Zard-Xs after one DD. After making this change, your team was still weak to rain and now you there is no rocker either. This is where I had to break your theme and say put Ferrothorn over Milotic. To be honest, Milotic is pretty garbage in OU and easily the weakest member of this team. Ferro can also help you against an opposing Azu so it doesn't roll through everything not named Metagross. Sacking a pokemon or taking a waterfall from Azu every time you need to bring Megagross in on it will wear your team down very quickly. They may go for play rough but why risk it when Ferro can resist both stabs for you? Just watch out for superpower. c:

The main problem now is that Volcarona is very weak to rocks and you have no hazard removal, but I couldn't really think of a defogger or spinner that went with your theme so I just didn't mention it. I thought about Skarm over Ferro but then you pretty much lose to rain every single time, so you may want to look around the champion teams and find some things that handle rocks, :D***replace Volc***:D, or just getting really good at predicting hazard setters coming in. Not that I'm trying to sway you or anything, but maybe you should replace Volc. c;

I could have made this team a lot better, but I see that you made it a theme team and probably would want to change as little as possible about it so this is the best I can do without overhauling most of the team and making it lose its theme. cx Good luck in your battles and I hope I helped you. Have a good day.

P.S. Please don't ever bring this to a tour or anything outside of ladder because you will get nailed. xD
