[OVERVIEW]
Celebi is a solid Nasty Plot sweeper thanks to its all-around good stats, useful coverage, and ability to take advantage of Choice-locked attackers like Flygon, Rotom-C, and Sirfetch'd. Additionally, Celebi is quite adept at managing bulky Water- and Ground-types like Vaporeon, Mantine, and Mudsdale thanks to Natural Cure and its typing, taking away the worry of a Toxic poison preventing it from sweeping late-game and letting it easily set up against them. However, Celebi's horrible defensive typing leaves it vulnerable to several common revenge killers such as Talonflame, Salazzle, Sucker Punch Toxicroak, and First Impression Sirfetch'd, which offsets its ability to somewhat easily find setup opportunities, and while it has good coverage, foes like Copperajah, Drapion, and Guzzlord can still pose problems for it. Celebi also faces competition from Decidueye and Rotom-C as a Grass-type setup sweeper; they both possess more defensive utility, Decidueye has priority to pick off potential revenge killers, and Rotom-C has Volt Switch to ease prediction early- and mid-game.

Set Details
====
Aura Sphere complements Psychic well, targeting Steel- and Dark-types such as Copperajah, Bronzong, and Guzzlord. Recover is usually opted for to let Celebi more effectively leverage its defensive utility early- and mid-game and offset Life Orb recoil, but Giga Drain is its best way to damage Water-types like Starmie and Blastoise. Thunder Wave also deserves consideration for crippling Talonflame, but Celebi usually wants extra longevity instead. While Life Orb is great for the damage increase against Assault Vest Copperajah, Leftovers lets Celebi make use of its defensive utility more frequently.
Celebi greatly appreciates support from teammates like Dragalge and Tyrantrum that can force heavy damage onto Steel-types, making it easier for Celebi to KO them with a +2 attack late-game. Similarly, Pokemon like Sirfetch'd, Machamp, and Guzzlord that can outright remove Steel-types themselves are also great partners, with Guzzlord also checking Ghost-types for Celebi. Celebi also pairs great with status-weak Pokemon like Mudsdale, non-Heal Bell Vaporeon, and Mantine that commonly get hit by Toxic. Vaporeon in particular is a good teammate because it checks Talonflame for Celebi. Dark- and Ghost-types like Guzzlord, Decidueye, and Dhelmise can give Celebi issues depending on how healthy they are and whether Celebi has boosted; teammates like Diancie and Drapion help cover these threats. Fire-types like Talonflame and Arcanine are great to have because they deal with Decidueye and Dhelmise. In return, Celebi can handle Mudsdale and Diancie.

Other Options
====
Choice Scarf Celebi can provide a team with an immense amount of support, with moves like U-turn, Healing Wish, and Trick all being great options on it. This set can run into issues picking which utility moves to run, though—give careful thought to which ones your team needs the most. Specially defensive sets are similar in that they can utilize an array of coverage moves—U-turn, Thunder Wave, and Stealth Rock are notable ones—and are reasonable checks to offensive Water-types like Starmie, Blastoise, and Kingdra. Celebi's awful defensive typing, however, limits their ability to succeed. On hyper offense teams, Celebi can run an offensive Stealth Rock set with Healing Wish to give setup sweepers like Blastoise, Swords Dance Sirfetch'd, and Salazzle more early- and mid-game leeway, but these teams typically prefer other leads like Aerodactyl that can set Stealth Rock and then KO themselves, thus preserving momentum.
Checks and Counters
====
**Steel-types**: Even with coverage moves, Celebi can struggle against Copperajah. Escavalier and Levitate Bronzong can contend with any coverage move from Celebi, although the latter has a good chance to be 2HKOed by Aura Sphere and can only threaten back with Toxic.
**Ghost-types**: Specially defensive Dhelmise has the power and bulk to dispatch Celebi after minimal chip damage with Poltergeist. Other Ghost-types like Decidueye and Silvally-Ghost can handle Celebi if it's unboosted, but they're KOed by +2 Psychic.
**Revenge Killers**: Celebi is very vulnerable to common revenge killers like Talonflame, Salazzle, and Choice Scarf Flygon as well as First Impression from Sirfetch'd.
**Dark-types**: Although Celebi can bypass them after a Nasty Plot, Dark-types such as Guzzlord and Drapion can deal with it when unboosted and easily take it out. Absol can also easily OHKO it with Sucker Punch.
