Calm Mind Raging Bolt is one of OU's top sweepers that can also wallbreak, revenge kill, and provide helpful defensive utility. Calm Mind allows Raging Bolt to boost Special Attack and OHKO Pokemon like Gliscor with Dragon Pulse, offensive Kingambit with Thunderbolt, and Darkrai with Thunderclap after minor chip, all at +1. Raging Bolt finds opportunities to use Calm Mind on various Pokemon including Serperior, Heatran, and Cinderace using its good bulk and defensive typing. Thunderclap bypasses Raging Bolt's poor Speed for an offensive Pokemon and can shut down Kingambit's Sucker Punch with correct prediction, however Encore users like Iron Valiant and Ogerpon W can lock Raging Bolt into Thunderclap to gain setup opportunities or momentum. Dragon Pulse is the preferred Dragon-type STAB move as it doesn't drop Raging Bolt's Special Attack and it has 100% accuracy, but Draco Meteor can be used instead to OHKO Pokemon like Garganacl and Zamazenta while hitting Ting-Lu for over 50% at +1, and it also nearly always 2HKOes Clodsire due to Unaware ignoring Draco Meteor's Special Attack drop. Thunderbolt provides a stronger Electric STAB move than Thunderclap, gaining notable 2HKOs on even Pokemon like Assault Vest Galarian Slowking at +1 after Stealth Rock, and it makes Raging Bolt less vulnerable to Encore as it threatens Encore users like Iron Valiant and Ogerpon-W that can use Thunderclap as setup fodder. Weather Ball can be used on sun and rain teams as it becomes stronger than Thunderbolt and provides valuable coverage, with Weather Ball under both weathers hitting Iron Treads and OHKOing offensive variants of Great Tusk, while Weather Ball in Rain can 2HKO even Ting-Lu. On rain teams exclusively, Thunder can be used instead of Calm Mind giving Raging Bolt much more immediate power at the cost of boosting potential; however, Thunder is held back by poor accuracy if rain ends and the lack of boosting potential stops Raging Bolt from being a sweeper. Taunt can be used over Thunderbolt and Weather Ball to stop recovery from special walls like Clodsire and Blissey, however Taunt Raging Bolt struggles against Calm Mind Enamorus, Hatterene, and Iron Valiant. Booster Energy is preferred for its damage, allowing Raging Bolt to OHKO Pokemon like Primarina, Roaring Moon, and Gouging Fire unboosted and Pokemon like Darkrai and Gholdengo at +1, however Leftovers can be used for passive healing, allowing it to stick around longer to fire off more attacks at the cost of less power, especially noticable against Unaware Pokemon. Leftovers variants on Sun teams get around the drop in power due to Protosynthesis being activated by the sun, and Air Balloon can also be used as its one time Ground immunity helps it beat Great Tusk and Iron Treads, however the Air Balloon can easily be broken by another Pokemon. Tera Fairy gives Raging Bolt a Dragon immunity while eliminating its Ground and Fairy weaknesses. Tera Flying can be used instead for an outright immunity to Ground, however it ends up losing to Pokemon like Non-Tera or Tera Fairy Raging Bolt and Kyurem. The given EV spread outspeeds minspeed Gliscor and allows Raging Bolt to survive a speed boosting Great Tusk's Headlong Rush.

Raging Bolt fits on offensive teams that it supports with its excellent priority and ability to overwhelm opposing teams with its offensive partners. Other special attackers like Gholdengo, Iron Moth, Kyurem, and Darkrai appreciate Raging Bolt wearing down shared checks like Ting Lu, Clodsire, Galarian Slowking, and Blissey. Stealth Rock setters like Deoxys-S, Landorus-T, and Glimmora can set Stealth Rock and threaten to deal significant damage to Great Tusk and Iron Treads attempting to use Rapid Spin, forcing the opponent to let Stealth Rock go up or risk their Ground-type against Raging Bolt, while the offensive teammates that Raging Bolt thrives alongside greatly appreciate hazard support. Raging Bolt is a common sight on sun teams, with Torkoal's Drought making Weather Ball a Fire-type move and Protosynthesis activations without Booster Energy, freeing up Raging Bolts item slot to run Leftovers or Air Balloon. Raging Bolt also synergizes well with other sun Pokemon like Walking Wake, Roaring Moon, Great Tusk, and Gouging Fire. Walking Wake can exploit the Ground-types that check Raging Bolt such as Ting-Lu, Iron Treads, and Gliscor while assisting Raging Bolt in pressuring Galarian Slowking and Blissey. Roaring Moon, Great Tusk, and Gouging Fire can break through fat balance and stall teams that can easily deal with Raging Bolt, with Attack boosting Choice Band Gouging Fire being particularly good into these slow teamstyles. Raging Bolt is also very common on rain teams, benefitting from Pelipper's Drizzle with Weather Ball and Thunder while being able to check Pokemon that rain struggles with like Rillaboom and Ogerpon-W without Play Rough. Raging Bolt forms a great core with Barraskewda, checking or breaking Pokemon such as Kingambit, Dondozo, and Alomomola that Barraskewda struggles with. Due to Raging Bolt struggling with faster Ground-types, it should be paired with Pokemon that can swap into or punish them such as Ogerpon-W, Darkrai, and Zamazenta, with Ogerpon-W additionally being able to force out most of Raging Bolt's walls to gain Swords Dance boosts and having a great matchup into balance and stall teams that Raging Bolt struggles with.

Tera Flying can be used instead for an outright immunity to Ground, however it ends up losing to Pokemon like Non-Tera or Tera Fairy Raging Bolt and Kyurem. Raging Bolt is a common sight on sun teams, with Torkoal's Drought granting Raging Bolt Weather Ball Fire making Weather Ball a Fire-type move reads better + matches up more to analysis standards and Protosynthesis activations without Booster Energy, freeing up Raging Bolts item slot to run Leftovers or Air Balloon. Calm Mind Raging Bolt is one of OU's top sweepers that can also wallbreak, revenge kill, and provide helpful defensive utility. Calm Mind allows Raging Bolt to boost Special Attack and (Not necessary) OHKO Pokemon like Gliscor with Dragon Pulse, offensive Kingambit with Thunderbolt, and Darkrai with Thunderclap after minor chip, all at +1. (This is fine but be aware that these are all with Booster Energy, Leftovers is another option on the set which can't hit these damage thresholds) Raging Bolt finds opportunities to use Calm Mind on various Pokemon including Serperior, Heatran, and Cinderace using its good bulk and defensive typing. (Would maybe reorder this / consider other mentions as Serperior isn't particularly relevant in OU rn) Thunderclap bypasses Raging Bolt's poor relatively low Speed for an offensive Pokemon (Minor phrasing thing, just noting it since it's still faster than most defensive Pokemon) and can shut down Kingambit's Sucker Punch with correct prediction, however Encore users like Iron Valiant and Ogerpon W can lock Raging Bolt into Thunderclap to gain setup opportunities or momentum. (You talk about this later as well and I think it's better to just keep it to there. Also, are there other things that Bolt gets a lot of value from being able to Thunderclap?) Dragon Pulse is the preferred Dragon-type STAB move as it doesn't drop Raging Bolt's Special Attack and it has 100% accuracy, (Dex info) but Draco Meteor can be used instead to OHKO Pokemon like Garganacl and Zamazenta (It doesn't cleanly OHKO Garg even at +1, this is fine information but Draco is good at bursting out certain targets without needing CM; Booster Energy Draco OHKOes things like Ogerpon-W) while hitting Ting-Lu for over 50% at +1, and it also nearly always 2HKOes Clodsire due to Unaware ignoring Draco Meteor's Special Attack drop. (Again, these are all with Booster Energy while Leftovers + Draco is also good) Thunderbolt provides a stronger Electric STAB move than Thunderclap, gaining notable 2HKOs on even Pokemon like Assault Vest Galarian Slowking at +1 after Stealth Rock, and it makes Raging Bolt less vulnerable to Encore as it threatens Encore users like Iron Valiant and Ogerpon-W that can use Thunderclap as setup fodder. (Note that it's not doing much to stop Ogerpon-W from Encoring it as Dragon Pulse hits the exact same damage thresholds while Booster Draco OHKOes) Weather Ball can be used on sun and rain teams as it becomes stronger than Thunderbolt and provides valuable coverage, with Weather Ball under both weathers hitting Iron Treads and OHKOing offensive variants of Great Tusk, while Weather Ball in Rain can 2HKO even Ting-Lu. (Maybe worth mentioning other Pokemon over Tusk as only zero bulk Tusk gets OHKOed while it outspeeds and OHKOes Bolt without Tera back? Kingambit is a pretty good target on Sun since you just cleanly oneshot it unboosted) On rain teams exclusively, Thunder can be used instead of Calm Mind giving Raging Bolt much more immediate power at the cost of boosting potential (Should this not be over Thunderbolt? If this is suggesting a 4A set with Weather Ball then that's fine, but I'd rephrase this as it's not made the most clear imo); however, Thunder is held back by poor accuracy if rain ends and the lack of boosting potential stops Raging Bolt from being a sweeper. Taunt can be used over Thunderbolt and or Weather Ball to stop recovery from special walls like Clodsire and Blissey, however Taunt Raging Bolt struggles against Fairy-types like Calm Mind Enamorus, Hatterene, and Iron Valiant due to its reliance on Thunderclap. (Maybe just note Clodsire if anything at all here? It also helps with Dirge but Dirge isn't super relevant and also struggles against Bolt anyway since even max SpDef takes like 40 from TBolt while being kinda walled) Leftovers variants on Sun teams get around the drop in power due to Protosynthesis being activated by the sun, and Air Balloon can also be used as its one time Ground immunity helps it beat Great Tusk and Iron Treads, (Treads still wins without Weather Ball) however the Air Balloon can easily be broken by another Pokemon. (Not really necessary info) Tera Fairy gives Raging Bolt a Dragon immunity while eliminating its Ground and Fairy weaknesses. (What does this help against, what clicks these moves into it?) Tera Flying can be used instead for an outright immunity to Ground, (Ground-type attacks from what?) however it ends up losing to Pokemon like Non-Tera or Tera Fairy Raging Bolt (Generally, opposing Bolt gets Dragon-type-moved so Tera Flying doesn't change the matchup by much, while Tera Fairy Bolt seems too specific) and Kyurem. The given EV spread outspeeds minspeed Gliscor and allows Raging Bolt to survive a speed boosting Great Tusk's Headlong Rush. (Change this accordingly to the new spread, this could also be kept listing what we had before as an alternative spread)

(Bolt doesn't really help wear down Blissey, it appreciates some of these other Pokemon wearing Blissey down though) Stealth Rock setters like Deoxys-S, Landorus-T, and Glimmora can set Stealth Rock (Sentence feels a little repetitive) and threaten while threatening to deal significant damage to Rapid Spin users that also check Raging Bolt like Great Tusk and Iron Treads attempting to use Rapid Spin, forcing the opponent to let Stealth Rock go up or risk their Ground-type against Raging Bolt, (Reworded for clarity, I don't think it's worth highlighting that Tusk / Treads are forced to let rocks go up and come in later as those are just qualities of the previously mentioned Pokemon being good leads) while the offensive teammates that Raging Bolt thrives alongside greatly appreciate hazard support. (Like who, or is this just a general property of offense?) Raging Bolt is a common sight on sun teams, with Torkoal's Drought from Torkoal or Ninetales (Spoiler for the next VR update lmao) making giving Raging Bolt the option of a Fire-type Weather Ball a Fire-type move (Changed as it's not a completely essential move on Sun) and activating Protosynthesis activations without Booster Energy, freeing up Raging Bolts item slot to run Leftovers or Air Balloon. Roaring Moon, Great Tusk, and Choice Band Gouging Fire can break through fat balance (Bolt blows up balance with the sun up unless they have a Clod; also, Tusk needs like Life Orb proto Attack with CC to break either balance or stall so they both have similar breaking power imo. Tusk is a good partner but yeah not usually a stallbreaker, it's kinda just good to have removal + something that forces damage on opposing Tusk / Lando) and stall teams that can easily deal with Raging Bolt, with Attack boosting Choice Band Gouging Fire being particularly good into these slow teamstyles. (Moved to where Goug is first mentioned) Raging Bolt is also very common on rain teams, benefitting from Pelipper's Drizzle with Weather Ball and Thunder while being able to check Pokemon that rain struggles with like Rillaboom and Ogerpon-W without Play Rough. Raging Bolt forms a great core with Barraskewda, checking or breaking Pokemon such as Kingambit, Dondozo, and Alomomola that Barraskewda struggles with. (Kingambit is fine but note that it can't switch in on Skewda and doesn't even kill it with Sucker unless it's Black Glasses or >2 Fallen while Bolt doesn't have that much of a good MU into it) Due to Raging Bolt struggling with faster Ground-types, it should be paired with Pokemon that can swap into or punish them such as Ogerpon-W, Darkrai, and Zamazenta, with Ogerpon-W additionally being able to force out most of Raging Bolt's walls (Like what?) to gain Swords Dance boosts and having a great matchup into balance and stall teams that Raging Bolt struggles with. (Beating these teams for it is great, but again yeah unless the balance has a Clodsire then Bolt is really hard to handle)
