Thanks to Cresselia's excellent bulk and access to recovery in Moonlight, it makes for a potent late-game Calm Mind sweeper that can be difficult for many teams to break through. Psyshock gives Cresselia the ability to beat opposing Calm Mind users like Fezandipiti and Suicune even after they've accumulated several boosts. Moonblast targets the Dark-types that attempt to switch in on Cresselia, such as Krookodile, as well as Dragon-types like Salamence and Noivern. Leftovers helps keep Cresselia healthy during a sweep, making it less reliant on Moonlight for recovery, so that it can make progress quicker. This is especially important against bulkier teams that use Hippowdon, as Moonlight's recovery is reduced in sand. Covert Cloak protects Cresselia from Fezandipiti's Toxic Chain as well as flinches and paralysis from Jirachi's Iron Head and Body Slam, respectively. Covert Cloak also blocks Psychic Noise's heal-blocking effect, letting Cresselia recover even against foes like Reuniclus and Slowbro. 136 Speed EVs are used to allow Cresselia to outspeed Bisharp and Modest Volcanion with the remaining EVs going into Defense so that Cresselia may check physical attackers like Galarian Zapdos and Entei. Tera Poison removes Cresselia's weaknesses; maintains its Fighting resist, letting it check Slither Wing more easily; and grants it an immunity to Toxic from users like Umbreon and Fezandipiti, letting it completely wall them. While Tera Electric has less resistances than Tera Poison, it lets Cresselia have zero weaknesses thanks to Levitate; it also makes Cresselia immune to paralysis and gives it a resistance to Flying-type attacks from the likes of Galarian Zapdos and Salamence.
Cresselia offers bulky offense and balanced teams a durable wincon. Fighting-types like Slither Wing and Terrakion are able to switch into Dark-type attacks and put pressure on Steel-types like Hisuian Goodra and Bisharp, while Cresselia is able to handle Poison-types that give them trouble, like Fezandipiti and Galarian Weezing. Magnezone makes for a great partner thanks to its ability to handle Jirachi and Empoleon, two of Cresselia's best checks, as well as providing a slow Volt Switch to bring Cresselia in safely. In return, Cresselia provides a Ground immunity with Levitate and can handle the likes of Raikou for it. Other pivots that can pressure Jirachi, like Basculegion-F and Talonflame, also work well with Cresselia. Assault Vest Cyclizar is an annoyance for Cresselia, as it can take a boosted Moonblast before phazing it with Dragon Tail. Therefore, physical revenge killers like Galarian Zapdos and Krookodile make for great teammates, especially since they can also revenge kill problematic Pokemon like Gengar. Galarian Weezing makes for a great defensive partner due to its ability to stop Knock Off users like the aforementioned Cyclizar and Krookodile in their tracks, crippling them with Will-O-Wisp in the process. In exchange, Cresselia can handle special attackers that attempt to exploit Galarian Weezing, such as Suicune and non-Taunt Oricorio-E. Assault Vest Cyclizar and Umbreon also make for good defensive pairings with Cresselia, as they appreciate its ability to handle problematic Pokemon such as Mienshao and Galarian Weezing; in return, they check the Ghost-types that give it a headache, such as Hisuian Zoroark and Basculegion-F.
