Mamoswine is able to punch major holes in teams with its amazing STAB combination against tier staples like Latios, Jirachi, and Gliscor. This forces many switches, which it can take advantage of with Substitute. Ice Shard picks off faster Pokemon like Alakazam and setup sweepers like Dragonite and Thundurus-T, which can be difficult for offensive teams to handle otherwise. Rotom-W is one of Mamoswine’s few safe switch-ins, so Latios is a good partner to help bypass it. Mamoswine is an excellent part of DragMag teams, as it can handle Dragon-types with Ice Shard while Magnezone removes Steel-types. Ferrothorn can set up entry hazards to further punish switching against Mamoswine.

This forces many switches, which it can take advantage of with Substitute, letting it ease up predictions and block status. Ice Shard lets Mamoswine picks off faster Pokemon like Alakazam and boosted set-up sweepers like Dragonite and Thundurus-T, which can be difficult for offensive teams to handle otherwise. Rotom-W is one of the few Pokemon that is able to switch into it safely Mamoswine's few safe switch-ins, so Latios is a good partner to help bypass it. Mamoswine is an excellent part of DragMag teams, as very few teams can deal with them as it Magnezone removes Steel-types such as Skarmory, Ferrothorn, and Excadrill, with Mamoswine handling it can handle Dragon-types with Ice Shard while Magnezone removes Steel-types. Ferrothorn is another excellent partner can set up entry hazards to further punish switching against Mamoswine.
