Keldeo is one of the defining Pokemon of BW OU and is a longstanding fixture on rain offense teams. This set helps to handle unfavorable matchups against Spikes stacking Psychic spam sand teams and Psychic Volcarona, alleviating a major flaw of rain offense. Aqua Jet might look like a strange option on a Pokemon with base 72 Attack and a Timid nature, but it serves a unique niche that few Pokemon can occupy, allowing it to get around Alakazam's Focus Sash and Volcarona's considerable special bulk after a Quiver Dance boost; specifically, it gives Keldeo the chance to weaken them with Surf and pick them off on the next turn after tanking their Psychic without too much trouble thanks to Payapa Berry. Outside of that capacity, Keldeo's Surf still packs impressive power when rain is up, even without a boosting item, and Icy Wind can cripple Latios that might try to switch in on Keldeo and threaten to fire off a powerful attack.
