Moves
========
  • Quiver Dance is a terrific move on Butterfree raising it's Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed.
  • Bug Buzz has terrific coverage when in tandem with Tinted Lens has terrific coverage, correct me if I'm wrong unresisted.
  • Sleep Powder allows Butterfree to set up on a myriad of pokemon.
  • Substitute allows Butterfree to evade status and beat Feraligatr should it switch in.
Set Details
========
  • EVs max out speed and allows Butterfree to hit as hard as possible and gain as much speed as possible.
  • Leftovers is used to gain HP allowing Butterfree to set up a high amount of substitutes.
  • Tinted Lens is used to differentiate Butterfree from Vivillon.

Usage Tips
========
  • Use Butterfree as a late game cleaner.
  • Butterfree sets up on a good amount of pokemon including but not limited to: Tangela, Musharna, and Ferroseed.
  • Sleep Powder also provides a plethora of setup opportunities.

Team Options
========
  • Butterfree really likes entry hazard control so spinners such as Cryogonal and Kabutops are good teammates.
  • Pokemon that can beat Probopass and Togetic like Klinklang and Gurdurr.
  • Fire resistances such as Hariyama and Seismitoad although the latter has to watch out for Hidden Power Grass.
Other Options
########
  • Compoundeyes
  • Double Powder
  • HP Ground
  • HP Fire
  • Life Orb
  • Psychic
  • Giga Drain

Checks & Counters
########
**Probopass**: Probopass has a high Special Defense despite being neutral to bug buzz it still takes on Butterfree very well.

**Togetic**: Togetic can handle Butterfree the best out of all pokemon as when including tinted lens, it still resists bug buzz.
**Fire-types**: Pokemon like Choice Scarf Typhlosion can beat butterfree even if it has a boost like however Fire-types can not beat Butterfree if it has a sub up/

Giga Drain in OO for coverage against rock types etc.
Also, The format ging of c&c is wrong. Look at other analyses how to format them properly.
It also appreciates entry hazards so it can gain a KO more easily

Ignore me if you want, I'm not qc

Idek if this should have an analysis, cause like you're saying, it's entirely outclassed by Vivillon who has much better coverage and power in a single move like Hurricane. It's also hits a better speed tier allowing it to outspeed Choice Scarf Sawk. Tinted Lens is cool and all for hitting stuff like Probopass, but i don't think anyone would use Butterfree for that reason when they have access to Vivillon.

Every fully evolved pokemon will eventually get an analysis, if they are extremely outclassed by another pokemon that will be stressed in the overview.

I think you need to add Shadow Ball in OO for 2 reasons. First of all, it's practically the only coverage option that isn't availeble to Vivillon in addition to Giga Drain, and it lets you hit Ghosts for better damage overall. I'm mainly thinking normal-Rotom, since it actually resists both of Vivillon's STABs, and when comparing the two Bugs, Shadow Ball is the best move you could hit it with. I know the reason is silly af, but like it has been said, Butterfree has little reason to be used over Vivillon, and I'm just scraping for reasons to do so.

Since Butterfree has Tinted Lens, Shadow Ball for like one Pokemon isn't even worth considering. Especially since uninvested rotom is OHKOed after SR by Bug Buzz.

Well, it's not really for one Pokemon, since all Ghost-types are hit harder by Shadow Ball than Tinted Bug Buzz (thinking of bulky Pokemon here aswell, such as Dusclops- and Misdreavus-lines, or Drifblim and Haunter, that still resist Bug Buzz), Rotom is just a prime example since it resists both of Vivillon's STABs, and when you use Butterfree, you automatically ask the question "Why not use Vivillon"? Shadow Ball is imo more of an OO option than Psychic or HP Fire, since why use Butterfree since Vivillon gets those aswell. I don't really feel all so strongly about this, but Tinted Lens in itself is not an adequate reason to toss out other coverage options, especially the ones that are unavailable to Vivillon.
