ORAS OU Bulky M-Ampharos Team

Hi! This is my first RMT, so forgive me if I make any mistakes. Anyways, I'm gonna go through my thought process in team building

Ampharos-Mega @ Ampharosite
Ability: Static
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Volt Switch
- Dragon Pulse

So I've always wanted to try out the physically defensive M-Ampharos set as it walls the OU Bird, so I decided to build a team around it. Slow Volt Switch can be very effective on this team as it allows me to get a free switch-in into my Weavile and Breloom for priority kills or the ability to set up on other mons.

Keldeo-Resolute @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Substitute
- Calm Mind

Keldeo was my next choice for the team since it can set up on a lot of the things that wall M-Ampharos being Ferrothorn and Hippowdon. It also pairs nicely with M-Ampharos because Keldeo's only weaknesses not resisted by M-Ampharos are Psychic and Fairy.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Iron Head
- Roost
- Spikes
- Whirlwind

Skarmory was my next choice for the team as my hazard user as well as my fairy resist, which destroys my team otherwise. Skarmory is a cool addition to the core as its two weaknesses are both resisted by M-Ampharos. I chose a Sp.Def set since I'm already using a physical wall to balance it out.

Breloom is the next addition to the team as it is weak to Azumarill and doesn't get walled by Talonflame and other flying types due to M-Ampharos and Skarmory. Breloom also provides status and is one of the few Swords Dancing mons that doesn't get walled by Quagsire. I decided on using Life Orb since Focus Sash would get broken if Hippowdon was out within the past couple turns.

Breloom @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Swords Dance

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Roar

Hippowdon is the next choice as I can get some quick weather kills as well as provide Stealth Rocks. This team doesn't suffer to Bird Spam, so phasing the other team with Spikes stack and Stealth Rock with Whirlwind would be beneficial. I chose Sand Stream over Sand Force as M-Charizard Y demolishes my team if M-Ampharos gets knocked out.

Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Knock Off
- Pursuit

Weavile was my final choice because my two water resists both get KO'd by an offensive Starmie set. Weavile pursuit traps Starmie and the Lati twins after they kill any member of my team.

If you have any suggestions please let me know! Like I said, this is my first RMT, so there's probably some better combination that I couldn't think of. Thanks for reading, have a nice day! :]

Quick Suggestion will add more later
For Skarmory I suggest Defog>Whirlwind to remove entry hazards, something your team at the moment doesn't have anything for. You really could use this since your offensive Pokemon are quite fragile and wouldn't appreciate Stealth Rock+Spike damage against any stall teams, especially since they're pretty much your only chance against it as physical attackers to Chansey aside from Keldeo, who would lose to Amoongus Stall quite easily.

I was considering it, but my team isn't very weak to hazards other than Weavile, and I've found the phasing element of this team to be useful. I'm gonna try out the two and see which I end up liking more.

While this is true, your team doesn't want to take up much Stealth Rock damage and Spikes considering your only physical offense are life orb attackers that eat away their health each attack. Keldeo is nice to have around and all but this leaves your team pretty open to be messed around with by amoongus, sableye, and quag stall. It's just something so you can safely set up at higher health and not make Swords Dance on breloom useless or have Weavile at low health on switch ins; it is an ice type after all.

Officially changed Breloom's item to Lum Berry and Skarmory's Whirlwind to Defog.

Ohh glad to see you're still working hard on your team! I've actually come up with a few more suggestions after testing it on PokemonShowdown myself to see how it works. It would really do your team better to make Hippowdon fully Physically defensive. The reason being is that your team also lacks a good Physical Wall and Hippowdon fits that spot nicely boasting 118 base defense and is one of the best physical walls in OU and works much better with roar. As for Mega-Ampharos, the volt switch/sleeptalk simply lacks good power and limits you to only electric and dragon moves, who at best 6HKO a pokemon and doesn't serve well as the physical wall either with faster threats like earthquake Landorus and Excadrill, who both are immune to electric attacks. I suggest giving it this spread down below to maximize it's Special Attack and have it deal with Mega-Venusaur better, who right now your team has no switch ins to. Discharge is added to paralyze faster Pokemon like Venusaur or even slower Pokemon like Ferrothorn to give you more opportunity to make safe plays and have the match more in control.

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Roar

Ampharos @ Ampharosite
Ability: Static
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
- Hidden Power [Fire]/[Ice] rest
- Discharge sleep talk
- Focus Blast volt switch
- Dragon Pulse

If you're really concerned about Breloom's status to give it a lum berry, I suggest running the toxic orb attacker set instead to heal off health freely each turn while still being able to hit hard and set up.

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore/Facade
- Seed Bomb
- Drain Punch/SuperPower
- Swords Dance
