Season 22 has concluded with this top 10!
As most of the participants predicted, Dragonite ended up with the 1st place crown. Without Chien-Pao or Flutter Mane competing for the spot, as well as forcing Dragonite to tera in front of them, made Dragonite a incredible favorite.
However, in true Smogon BSS prediction contest fashion, we continue the
NOBODY PREDICTED ONE OF THE TOP 10 streak as Mimikyu ended up missing from everyone's list. Similarly to Landorus-T in regulation G, both Pokemon ended up in the 6th place position.
We now go to the
FRAUD INDEX to see the most overhyped/underhyped Pokemon from this contest.
The most overhyped Pokemon this time was Dondozo, who ended up in 27th in usage. With 8 people including it in their rankings (including me), we have all received the 1 point penalty. While last time the most overhyped Pokemon was Zacian and it was still on the 1st place team, this time Dondozo didn't get 1st but it did get 2nd and 3rd lol.
Many people (9 to be exact, including me) got lucky Gliscor slid into 20th, because we were all about to get another 1 point penalty if it were any lower.
The most underestimated mon, to nobody's surprise, is the Pokemon that nobody predicted, Mimikyu. This follows the same pattern with Landorus-T last time as well.
Now we have a look at the community average:
The spread was a lot wider this time around compared to reg G, where the bottom of the list had low rankings in the predictions. The lowest Pokemon here, Annihilape, averaged 6.4.
Last but not least, we have the participant rankings!
Congratulations to
Whitephoenixace for winning! This is their second time winning so they already have their prize. Therefore, I am starting an incentive for winners to keep playing by issuing a term limit for the discord role of 2 contests. Past winners will still have a "Past Prediction Contest Winner" role, but it will not have a special color.
Anyway back to WPAs prediction. Like a lot of people they had Dondozo on their list and lost 1 point, but managed to get by with nailing 3 perfects (Dragonite, Archaludon, Annihilape). Otherwise, got 7/10 missing Meowscarada, Mimikyu, and Primarina.
Nobody got 8/10 correct, which either is a sign of a very unpredictable regulation or we're just not good at making metagame calls lol.
As a collective though, the community seems to be pretty good as the community average ended in 2nd place, the highest it's ever been.
Khops9207 had the best differentials in their predictions, but unfortunately only got 1 perfect (Dragonite).
Omastar68 unfortunately continue their struggle in last place, with costly predictions including Kommo-o and Rillaboom, who were ranked 78th and 42nd, respectively.
