Brute Bonnet in OU?!?! Who came up with this

Me, thats who, this is a modified variant of a ctc team that was made before the magearna ban, this team here is what its based off - https://pokepast.es/957e67a9b53a9a70

But with the meta shifting, i decided to try to alter this team in line with the metagame and ended up with this
https://pokepast.es/c78066f704dedc70

Team explanation

Garg - Its Garganacl, it walls half the metagame, it will be the tera most games, because rock bad, fairy good and acts as the teams chien pao check with its iron defense moveset, with it being ev'd to live 2 ice spinners or crunchs if you don't tera, it can dominate some teams entirely and even if you don't tera, its still a garganacl that can boosts its defense, meaning it can wall quite a bit

Zapdos - the yellow chicken is a paralysis machine and can pivot with volt switch, its very bulky, its so bulky in fact that it lives unboosted chien pao ice spinner guranteed, allowing it to go for para to ruin the snow leopard, roost keeps it healthy and its speed tier is solid and is able to 1hko most varients of defensive and offensive great tusk

Great Tusk- Assault Vest Great tusk is a unique dual tank mostly designed to bait in special attackers like dragapult and gholdengo and smack them hard whilst they are unable to ko it, its rapid spin support is obviously valuable and with added special bulk its able to pull this off easily, the lack of hazards on my end means keeping the balance for the match is crucial, and with added special bulk to deal with common ghosts i believe this achieves its goal well

Arcanine Hisui - First of the two more unique choices, non adamant arcanine head smash has a 75% chance to 2hko amoongus, meaning that not even rain will stop the bulky killer, walled by tusk but zapdos supports it very well. It is the teams resident balance breaker and i believe its supported well enough where it can really dominate some games

Dragapult- I added dragapult to add some pace to the team because its relatively slow and bulky, but i found with the slow and bulky set up, we will still being dominated by strong attackers like urshifu, so dragapult adds some offensive support in this department. Its excellent speed tier gives it the jump on chien pao and hisui lilligant, but chien pao still has sucker punch and i hate chien pao

Brute Bonnet - I have gone mad, haven't I, why brute bonnet over amoongus, well in testing, amoongus was too passive and didn't fit well with the team, but brute bonnet worked very well, its primary function is checking rain, where it stone walls basculegion and its mighty sucker punch has some great uses as well, you may think, what about u turn, well it can live most unstabbed u turns pretty easily, and bug types are not common in ou anyway

The team isn't perfect, it doesnt have hazards and is still being made by me, meaning its a bit volatile

Overall i'd like to hear some peoples opinion on this because i'm not 100% certain if its a good team or not

You could try making tusk the standard defensive set with rocks so you have hazards- something like this would work

Great Tusk @ Leftovers
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Water / Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off
- Rapid Spin

Yeah I might try it, either that or I’ll vary the garg set to have rocks on it

:garganacl:
Since you're using iron defense, swap your EVs to 252hp/ 252spd to REALLY wall half of the meta. Also, try using curse + equake for the covert cloak ghold that people run. Body press is good and strong, but it can leave you open more often than not.

:great tusk:
I agree with pokenerd. Or use 252hp/ 252atk to run more of a bulky offensive tusk.

:dragapult:
It might be worth swapping fire blast for flamethrower to negate any chance to miss. Also, change your ability to infiltrater because of how many people are running screens. Clear body doesn't really do much for you.

:brute bonnet:
I have always thought this mos deserved more spotlight. However, the set you're using is less than optimal...

Brute Bonnet @ Life Orb
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Spore
- Sucker Punch
- Seed Bomb
- Synthesis

I cooked this set up for you so give it a try. Life orb is for max damage while synthesis helps recover from life orb chip/ etc. Using spore and stun spore doesn't make sense when spore is objectively better and stun spore has a chance to miss...

Anyway, I hope this helps. I would also suggest looking into a way to fix your pretty bad ice and (especially) fairy weakness. (scarfed ghold? Idk).
Good Luck!
