Do you wish that more branch evolutions existed for a wider variety of Pokémon to use competitively? Or do you wish that more branched evolutions existed in general? If you have one of both of those wishes, then Branched Potential is definitely for you! In this Pet Mod, we will create a branched evolution for every Pokémon in the National Dex.
Concept
This mod is about creating branched evolutions and balancing a meta with them added to the national dex.
Rules & Explanation
Remember, every Non-Legendary Pokémon can have a branched evolution. There may be some special slates where weak legendaries get new evolutions, though.

- Types
- The new branched evolution can have the original's evolution primary or secondary typing.
- You are also allowed to remove the original Pokémon’s secondary typing.
- Also, this is just a note, but keep some flavor in mind when giving a new type.
- Abilities
- There's not many restrictions on abilities, just keep flavor in mind and try to avoid giving pokemon too many tools.
- Stats
- The new branched evolution’s BST must equal the original evolution’s BST.
- When you make the branched evolution’s stats, do whatever you’d like! (Add and Subtract stats from OG evolution, etc.)
- If you wish to make a new branched evolution for a one staged or two staged Pokémon, they get a boost in their BST, depending on their existing BST.
- We have a list of BST boosts from v1 that we'll keep but these are only a guideline, we will allow most things that make sense for the line and are balanced.
500 to 600 BST - 0+
499 to 480 BST - 45+
479 to 465 BST - 60+
464 to 455 BST - 70+
454 to 440 BST - 95+
439 to 400 BST - 105+
399 to 300 BST - 145+
299 to 250 BST - 230+
If you are making pre-evolutions, reverse the stats boosts with each number (I.E. 299 to 250 gets 0 and 500 to 600 gets 250) and change the + into -. - If you make a Mega for the new branched evolution, just remember to add the +100 stat boost and follow the rules stated in the mod Megas For All
- Moves
- If you want to have new moves, you must subtract some from the existing evolution. You should +/- up to 20 moves roughly, but as long as you stay within the reigns of sanity you're good.
- Miscellaneous
- If the original evolution has a Mega Evolution, the new branched evolution gets one as well. This rule goes for Z-Moves as well.
- Custom abilities will be accepted on a case to case basis, depending on flavor, how cool the mechanic is, and how easy it is to code
You can submit for as many categories as exist in the slate.

Base Pokemon = The Pokemon on the slate you are submitting for. Example: Vileplume
Counterpart = The submitted Pokemon on the same evolution tier as the base Pokemon.
Example: Bellosom Prevo = The pre-evolution(s) of the base Pokemon. Example: Oddish and Gloom Evolution = The evolution of the base Pokemon.
No example should be needed; we all know what an evolution is
Option 1: - Can be applied to any Pokemon, regardless of the amount of evolutions they have. - In single stage lines you'll have to create a prevo alongside a counterpart. BST must be subtracted from the prevo in accordance to the BST subtraction rules, and the counterpart's BST must remain the same as the base Pokemon's - In two staged lines you'll creating a counterpart. The counterpart's BST must remain the same as the base Pokemon's; you may only shuffle its stats around. For more information refer to the Stats section above. You may not create a prevo - In three staged lines all of the two staged line's rules apply
Option 2: - Can only be applied to single and two staged lines - Single stage lines do not require a prevo, though one may be created for flavour reasons. All prevo stat and movepool rules apply - Two staged lines require two evolutions be made. BST must be added accordance to the BST addition rules
Option 3: - Can be applied to single and two staged lines it is a collaboration - Where the base Pokemon is depends on the amount of stages in the line; - Single staged lines will be on the prevo tier - Two staged lines will be on the base/counterpart tier - Can only be used for collaborations between users, due to the amount of Pokemon required to be made - It's highly recommended that only one of the collaborators post the join submission, in order to make the sub compilation process less complicated - In very specific fringe cases, this option may be used to allow for two tiebreakers to win. Currently the only case of this happening is with Dhelmise/Annhailord/Sunkennon, but there may be more in the future - All the usual rules of BST and movepool additions apply here
