I had the idea of creating a bulky team that is not weak to hazards. With Magic Guard, Reuniclus does this very well and has the added strength of being a good win condition against stall teams. Since I play a lot of Pokémon with boots, there are speed issues, which is why I find that Zapdos has an important place in this team to try to paralyze. I made some changes from the team based on recommendations that I got (thanks ExguardiaN for the help), you will find the paste below. But basically I put a Rest Ting-Lu and a Band Zamazenta because the team lacked a breaker.
Ting-Lu @ Leftovers
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Rest
- Ruination
- Sleep Talk
Every team need a solid Ground type Pokémon to manage Raging Bolt and Ting-Lu does that very well.
With his Rest set, Ting-Lu can come on the field more often throughout the game and help the team manage special breakers.
On the Tera, I put the Tera Water on him to be less weak against Rain teams.
Reuniclus (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 HP / 212 SpA / 44 Spe
Modest Nature
- Psychic Noise
- Knock Off
- Focus Blast
- Recover
Although Reuniclus is only rarely used, it is not to be underestimated in the tier. Thanks to his ability, he can increase his damage with the Life Orb without having any backlash.
In this team he also helps checking some threats like Kyurem, thanks to his decent bulk.
Zapdos @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Static
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hurricane
- Volt Switch
- Thunder Wave
- Roost
As I mention briefly on the intro, Zapdos is the defensive pillar of the team that allows you to manage speed control by paralyzing opposing Pokémon. I prefer a Tera Fairy to gain resistance to Knock Off that helps especially against Roaring Moon. Against teams that depend on stack hazards, there will be a time when the opponent will threaten to knock off one of our Pokémon's item and Zapdos can afford to lose his item depending on the context because we can help him get out of his weakness to rocks with Cinderace's Court Change which is played in the team.
Kyurem @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Ice
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Freeze-Dry
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam
You don't always expect to see Kyurem with the boots on because he can be played in a lot of different ways. This can therefore make the opponent want to place the rocks but in reality they will not be immediately effective if a Knock Off does not follow.
He's great for putting pressure against Ground types. I'm sad there is nothing new here I tried to play with Glaciate but it lose me a game.
Cinderace (F) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Libero
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Pyro Ball
- Court Change
- U-turn
As you may have noticed we don't play any hazards on the team after changing the Ting-Lu set. So we fully rely on the opponent to put them down and with Cinderace's Court Change attack, the goal is to turn them against him. And so we take advantage of Zapdos and Kyurem's weakness to rocks to bait the opponent and invite him to put it down for us.
In the 4th slot I put Sucker Punch rather than Gunk Shot to have a prio on the team since Zamazenta was prefered over Keldeo.
Zamazenta @ Choice Band
Ability: Dauntless Shield
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Heavy Slam
The last member of the team isKeldeo Zamazenta! He's just the better Fighting type of the tier. He helps manage threats like Weavile or Kingambit. And with Choice Band the team have a breaker that can take important KOs. Since we don't have Gunk Shot on Cinderace, I think Heavy Slam is a must have for Fairy-type Pokémon.
I haven't been able to test the team much yet with the new additions but I will adding replays in the future if I like playing the team.
