BDSP Blissey

[OVERVIEW]

Blissey is standard on stall teams and something to consider on other bulky teams for its ability to wall almost every special attacker, even strong ones like Latios and Starmie. It doubles up as a status absorber and can work as a defensive win condition that beats most stallbreakers with its Calm Mind set or support its team with its utility set. However, Blissey's passivity can be exploited by physical attackers like Azumarill, Lucario, Mamoswine, and Breloom. Furthermore, even Blissey cannot deal with some of the most problematic special attackers, such as Life Orb Alakazam and stallbreaker Heatran.

[SET]
Name: Utility
move 1: Soft-Boiled
move 2: Seismic Toss
move 3: Stealth Rock
move 4: Thunder Wave / Heal Bell
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Bold
Evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
[SET COMMENTS]

With almost no relevant Ghost-types, Seismic Toss provides good neutral damage against all foes. Blissey makes a good Stealth Rock setter due to its longevity granting many opportunities to set them up. Thunder Wave cripples fast attackers such as Infernape and Latios. Heal Bell is an alternative for clerical support but makes Blissey much easier to switch into. Also, teams running Blissey often need Thunder Wave support, so if you run Heal Bell, you should have Thunder Wave elsewhere on your team. Blissey has no problems beating special attackers with uninvested Special Defense, so physical bulk is maximized for staying in against weaker physical attackers like specially defensive Scizor and better taking on Psyshock Alakazam. Coverage moves such as Ice Beam for Gliscor, Garchomp, and Breloom, Thunderbolt to chip Water-types, and Flamethrower for Scizor may also be run if you need to lure them.

Blissey fits well on stall and balance teams due to its ability to blanket check special attackers and its great support moveset. Its team must compensate for its physical weakness with solid physical walls such as Tangrowth, Slowbro, and Clefable. Also, a separate check to Alakazam in Scizor, and other priority users like Azumarill, or a faster Pokemon like Weavile or Choice Scarf Dual Chop Garchomp is needed. Gliscor and Starmie provide important entry hazard removal and also beat stallbreaker Heatran. Gliscor makes an especially good partner, as it checks Life Orb Alakazam, blocks Volt Switch, and can check Heatran or almost any physical attacker depending on its set. If you are not running Gliscor, be sure to have a Ground-type to block Volt Switch from Magnezone and the Rotom formes. Sticky Hold Gastrodon is a good option for invalidating Trick from Choice Scarf Rotom-W.

[SET]
Name: Calm Mind
move 1: Soft-Boiled
move 2: Calm Mind
move 3: Ice Beam
move 4: Seismic Toss / Thunderbolt
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Bold
Evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
[SET COMMENTS]

Calm Mind Blissey shuts down most bulky special sweepers like Latios and Togekiss, which can break through other Blissey, and threatens to win late-game. Offensive coverage is necessary to beat the sweepers; Ice Beam and Seismic Toss are preferred, while Thunderbolt is used to hit bulky Water-types that can PP stall Seismic Toss. Seismic Toss is ultimately preferred for its greater use against unboosted foes. Blissey has no problems beating special attackers with uninvested Special Defense, so physical bulk is maximized for staying in against weaker physical attackers like specially defensive Scizor and better taking on Psyshock Alakazam.

Calm Mind Blissey only fits well on stall due to its reduced utility and unique ability to beat such a wide range of special attackers and stallbreakers. Blissey requires strong physical walls to check the variety of Pokemon that threaten it. Unaware Clefable is a good check to setup sweepers like Azumarill, Feraligatr, and Dragonite, and Gliscor, Slowbro, and Skarmory are effective against Lucario. Tangrowth checks Breloom, in particular, and offers a backup answer to Lucario. Tangrowth and defensive Shaymin help against Water-type wallbreakers Crawdaunt, Feraligatr, and Azumarill. Skarmory is a particularly effective partner, checking Weavile, Mamoswine, Lucario, and Feraligatr, while offering the entry hazard support missing from Calm Mind Blissey. For Choice Band wallbreakers like Infernape, Mamoswine, and Azumarill, Slowbro is an effective check, though it needs a partner that resists Fairy-type attacks like Skarmory to consistently check Azumarill. Gliscor again makes a good partner, offering Defog support and checking Lucario and Infernape, though most variants will get 2HKOed by Choice Band Flare Blitz. Another option would be Poliwrath, which is one of the few true counters to the stallbreaking menace Crawdaunt and a check to Feraligatr. Specially defensive Scizor fills the necessary role of Alakazam switch-in and appreciates not having to endure other special assaults. Other essential support includes an entry hazard remover like Gliscor or Starmie, a Ground-type to keep Volt Switch users from freely gaining momentum, and a Heatran switch-in like like Slowbro or Gliscor. Heatran should be scouted first, however.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Counter can surprise weaker physical attackers like Gliscor and Defog Scizor, and Healing Wish can give a wallbreaker or sweeper on a balance team a second chance. Both take away too much utility for most teams, however.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Physical Attackers**: Blissey's lacking physical bulk means any physical wallbreaker will easily defeat it. Examples include Crawdaunt, Lucario, Infernape, Breloom, and Mamoswine; only Lucario and Infernape fear Thunder Wave.

**Stallbreakers**: Most stallbreaking Pokemon have Blissey in mind and are prepared to remove it. Nasty Plot Togekiss, Calm Mind Latios, and Stored Power Latias rip apart stall and are only checked by Calm Mind Blissey. Stallbreaker Heatran traps Blissey with Magma Storm and Taunt. However, Heatran will struggle versus boosted Calm Mind Blissey. Note that Heatran can lure and remove common switch-ins like Gliscor or Gastrodon, so scouting its set is essential. Rotom formes threaten to cripple Blissey with Trick and then use Nasty Plot unopposed.

**Life Orb Alakazam**: Nasty Plot Alakazam can OHKO Blissey with +2 Psyshock and cleanly 2HKOes with Focus Blast, while Blissey can only threaten it back with Thunder Wave.

[OVERVIEW]

In a tier with strong special attackers like Latias, Starmie, and Alakazam roaming about, Blissey offers a safer (due to its higher bulk and lack of fire weakness), but more passive and exploitable special wall than Scizor, the other main special wall in the tier. It defends better vs more niche special attackers, like Togekiss and Nidoking, which would ruin Scizor with their fire coverage. Blissey is worse at checking the major special threat of Alakazam, with Life Orb Psyshock having a 78.5% to 2HKO Defensive Blissey after rocks, or if it gets a Nasty Plot up which can blow it away with Focus Blast/Psyshock easily. Blissey also runs the risk of being too predictable, as it needs to maintain high enough health to check special threats, which forces Soft-Boileds, or does not output any pressure once on the field. Other roles Blissey can fill are as a rocker, due to its longevity and as a status absorber because of Natural Cure.

I don't like this overview at all. It needs to present the role of Blissey in the metagame, its qualities and its flaws. Currently, this overview's structure is a bit weird, starting with comparing Blissey to Scizor before talking about its niche. I would expect something structured kinda like this: Blissey is a great special wall able to answer almost every attacker, even very strong ones, making it a standard in most bulky builds. It can double up as a status absorber and either work as a defensive wincondition or further support its team with its great support options. However, Blissey's passivity can be exploited by physical attackers like Azumarill, Mamoswine, and Breloom. Furthermore, Blissey is also unable to deal with some of the most proeminent special attackers in Alakazam and Heatran.

Reorder moves to follow the set moves order.
Soft-Boiled is a must to make sure Blissey can maintain its health to check special attackers throughout the game. fluff Stealth Rock is chosen as Blissey has good recovery, and forces switches due to walling special attackers, providing it with many opportunities to get rocks up safely. fluff What is interesting about Stealth Rock is not what they do, but why Blissey is a good SR setter, i.e. its huge longevity through reliable recovery and insane bulk. Ice Beam is a must for rocking sets to hit Gliscor, who would otherwise defog away the rocks easily, it also hits Breloom hard on the switch. No it is not The remainder of the moves are chosen to hit whatever physical attacker is switching into Blissey, Thunder Wave cripples fast glass-cannon type attackers such as Infernape, as well as threatening out the fast special attackers like latias and Latios. With almost no relevant Ghost-types, Seismic Toss is an option to provides good neutral damage against all foes, especially with little ghosts in the tier, also allowing Blissey to win games once the pokemon that threaten it are gone. Thunderbolt hits offensive waters of Feraligator, Azumaril, and Crawdaunt hard on the switch, while the niche Flamethrower hits Scizor. Alternatives include the situational Aromatherapy/Heal Bell is an alternative to Thunder Wave allowing Blissey to act as a cleric for status and the gimmicky Counter to surprise uninvested physical threats like a U-Turning Scizor. Counter is fine for OO Blissey has no problems beating special attackers with uninvested Special Defence (except Alakazam), so EVs and nature are used to maximize physical bulk to let it stay in on weaker physical pokemon like Specially Defensive Scizor or Gliscor and take better on Psyshock Alakazam. You can also add a line saying Blissey can run specific coverage moves if it wants to target specific threats like Gliscor or Scizor.

Defensive Blissey fits well on stall and balance (maybe BO, idk all of the classifications) that's fine, Blissey is too passive for BO styles of teams, with its ability to blanket check most special attackers and its great support moveset. with its solid special bulk freeing up space on the team from having to run checks to Scizor’s special counters. However, this means that the team must run solid physical walls/checks especially to the physical waters which plague the tier, Milotic and (bulky?) Rotom-Wash are some of the more effective ones with them both threatening burns, and Rotom-W threatening a super effective Volt Switch and Milotic can just sit on them, hazing away any stat boosts. Milotic is unranked and Rotom-W isn't a great mon for balance due to lacking recovery. Water-types physical attackers aren't more important than other ones like Breloom, Mamoswine, and Weavile. Just mentions physical wall like Tangrowth, Slowbro, and Clefable that help covering these weaknesses. Also, separate checks to Breloom like Tangrowth are needed, as well as strong priority/faster pokemon to get rid of Alakazam if it gets to set up like aqua jet Azumarill or Weavile, which outspeeds and can hit it super effectively, or Scarf Garchomp, which can OHKO sash Alakazam with dual chop (idk if there are other non-scizor checks to zam, as part of the point of running blissey is to avoid needing multiple special checks). Offensive Scizor also works as an Alakazam check. Blissey hates getting worn down by hazards, as they can do more damage than the attacks it absorbs, so be sure to pack hazard control, such as defog Gliscor or Starmie that can also handle Heatran for Blissey. Mention Ground-types as a whole also help Blissey not getting abused by strong volt switch from the likes of Magnezone and offensive Rotom, while also helping dealing with Heatran.

[SET COMMENTS]
While partially a relic from the days when Manaphy and Gengar were in OU, Specially Defensive Calm Mind Blissey shuts down all Calm Minders and special boosters barring Calm Mind Unaware Clefable (who ignores its defensive boosts and outlasts its Soft-Boileds with Moonblasts and Nasty plot Alakazam, who can kill it easily with Psyshock most bulky special sweeper like Latios and Togekiss that can break through unboosted Blissey after several boosts, while also offering a strong late game wincondition. Calm Mind lets you boost in unison with the Calm Minder, while the maxed special bulk gives you leeway to switch in and be behind in the Calm Mind war, neutralizing many special boosting strategies. Bolt Beam coverage is necessary as a calm mind war will end with a critical hit (especially when you are running Blissey) so having neutral coverage is key to giving your opponent fewer turns to get it. Soft-Boiled is necessary for keeping healthy to check special checks throughout the game. Shadow ball was primarily to hit Gengar but also hits Latios, Alakazam, and Jirachi super effectively. As you have to rely on Blissey base 10 defense stat, Flamethrower can KO the Scizor that would otherwise threaten a 2HKO. A Calm nature is necessary to not get 2HKOd by Calm mind Stored Power Latios through leftovers. unsure of cm spdef blissey vs cm stored power lati, despite having lost in that scenario- stall out stored powers and 4 dracos do 40-50%, by which point it has to roost, so idk whether to say it beats it, as you have 24 turns to avoid a crit, then you pp stall stored power lati@s is irrelevant, it is far too niche. As for the EVs, same thing as for the previous set.

This set shuts down Calm Minders at the price of having much less flexibility with moveset, and to stay in versus uninvested physical attackers, as well as having to run from Psyshock Alakazam, which does 79% minimum. Blissey fits on stall because its reduced utility means it is harder to fit into balance, but also because there are no other pokemon in stall that are able to beat such a wide range of special attackers and stallbreakers. As such, this set only fits on stall, which can take its reduced utility and supplement its increased physical weakness with physical checks like Tangrowth for Breloom and Milotic for physical waters (or the niche Poliwrath to check Crawdaunt and Feraligator on spikes stack stall), who appreciate Blissey’s abilities to take on special attackers. kinda the same comment as for the previous set, mention more physical walls and more physical attackers, Milotic is still unviable Also, an Alakazam switch-in is needed, with Specially Defensive Scizor fulfilling that role best, with it appreciating not having to be worn down by other special assaults. hazard removal + electric switch-in + heatran switch-in need also to be covered.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Other sets which have been run are: max Special Attack Serene Grace Blissey, which aims to get 60% paralysis with Thunders or 20% freezes with Ice Beam (only need to fire off 3 Ice Beams to get a 49% chance to freeze once), and can surprise a lot of common switches to frail physical attackers who were expecting to take <20%. This set has the same reduced flexibility as the Calm Mind set, but is a worse special check due to having to run Special Attack EVs, making it less reliable at replacing special walls, as well as being inconsistent. Serene Grace Defensive with no Special Attack investment has been run too for the freezes, but Blissey is a good scald/wisp absorber as it is, as appreciates not having its leftovers neutralized the whole game. Just mention Counter and Healing Wish.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Hazards**: hazards reduce Blissey’s HP as much as the special attacks it receives, forcing it to Soft-Boil, giving a predictable free switch to the opponent or on a double switch, switch out without being able to heal, letting its massive bulk get chipped down on repeated switches.

**Trapping Heatran**: Magma Storm Heatran traps Blissey and deals 12.5% per turn, and then taunt Taunt prevents it from healing, letting Heatran easily remove Blissey, while setting up rocks in the meantime. However, Heatran struggles versus Blissey if it already set up a Calm Mind.

**Psyshock Alakazam**: Psyshock ignores Blissey’s superb Special Defence to focus on its lacking Defence, letting defensive it get 2HKOd by life orb after rocks, while CM Blissey gets 2HKOd easily. Even if Blissey switches in safely, the worst it can do back to Alakzam is T-wave, though Alakazam will still outspeed. this is a bit messy. Just say, Alakazam can OHKO Blissey after a Nasty Plot with Psyshock, while Blissey can only threaten back with a paralysis from Thunder Wave.

**Physical Attackers**: Blissey has to rely on its puny base 10 Defense, which even when fully invested, takes heavy damage from all invested physical attackers, getting 2HKOd by nearly all of them. Don't mention raw stats, just say that Blissey's lacking physical bulk means that physical wallbreaker will easily defeat it. Also name examples. Make this the first point as well.

**Poison Heal Breloom**: Poison Heal Breloom with investment in HP and Special Defence can switch in safely, even eating an Ice Beam as it will heal it off, and is not scared of T-Wave, while threatening Spore/Focus Punch as you are forced to switch out.

**Mamoswine**: Immune to Thunder Wave, takes less than Rocks from Ice Beam, Mamoswine Switches into Blissey and fires off its powerful attacks or sets up a substitute.

Those last two are also physical attackers, you can merge these section into the physical attackers one, just mentionning that Loom and Mamo are even more relevant.

Blissey is a great special wall, able to answer (sponge? probably fits better) almost every special attacker, even very strong ones like Latios and Starmie, making it standard on most bulky teams. It doubles up as a status absorber and can work as a defensive win condition with the CM set (mentioning that its able to actually beat most stallbreakers) or support its team with its utility set, letting it put up rocks, spread paralysis or act as a cleric. However, Blissey's passivity can be exploited by physical attackers like Azumarill, Mamoswine and Breloom. (Lucario?) Furthermore, even Blissey cannot deal with some of the most prominent more specialized or stronger special attackers, such as Psyshock Life Orb Alakazam and Trapping stallbreaker Heatran. (i like the zam mention but orb shock zam its not as used as this might seem to intend, and generally if its orb it beats you anyway through sheer boosting, especially if you switch into a Plot already)

With almost no relevant Ghost-types, Seismic Toss provides good neutral damage against all foes. Blissey makes a good Stealth Rocks setter due to its good bulk and recovery, giving it the longevity to set them up multiple times. Thunder Wave cripples fast attackers such as Infernape and Latios. Heal Bell is an alternative to Thunder Wave allowing Blissey to act as a cleric. (id say mention how heal bell leaves Blissey a bit more open to abuse, since TWave is the biggest form of support it can give to the team and if Blissey doesnt have it someone else should in a stall/balance) Blissey has no problems beating special attackers with uninvested Special Defence, so EVs and nature are used to maximize physical bulk to let it stay in on weaker physical pokemon like Specially Defensive Scizor or Gliscor and take on better Psyshock Alakazam. Coverage moves such as Ice Beam for Gliscor and Breloom (no chomp mention?), Thunderbolt for Water-Types (you kind of beat nobody with a uninvested tbolt) and Flamethrower for Scizor may also be run if you need the damage. to lure them.

Defensive Blissey fits well on stall and balance style of teams, with its ability to blanket check most special attackers and its great support moveset. However, this means that the team must run solid physical walls/checks such as Tangrowth, Slowbro and Clefable to prevent physical attackers from taking advantage of Blissey. Also, a separate check to Alakazam is needed, either through an Offensive Scizor, other priority users like Azumarill, or faster Pokemon like Weavile or Scarf Garchomp, which can OHKO Alakazam with Dual Chop. (no mentions of a stall LO zam check? gliscor fits the bill so you could reorder mentioning Gliscor for its qualities, since you mentioned it below) Blissey hates getting worn down by hazards, as they can do more damage than the attacks it absorbs (id argue its more of a pressure tool), so be sure to pack hazard control, such as Gliscor or Starmie, who can also handle trapping Heatran. If you are not running Gliscor, be sure to have a Ground-Type to prevent strong Volt Switches from Magnezone or Offensive Rotom which would otherwise overwhelm your team. Calm Mind Blissey shuts down most bulky special sweepers like Latios and Togekiss that can break through an unboosted Blissey after several boosts, while also offering a strong late game win condition. Bolt Beam coverage is necessary as a calm mind war will end with a critical hit (especially when you are running Blissey) so having neutral coverage is key to giving your opponent fewer turns to get it. (to be fair cm blissey only serves the purpose of winning against strong stallbreaker statuppers, so tbolt is kind of a secondary move since you dont have to beat water types with it, but definitely deserves a slash since you might find yourself against a Milotic or something along those lines; that being said, Ice Beam is usually the most worthy one) Soft-Boiled is necessary for keeping healthy to check special checks throughout the game. Blissey already checks special attackers well without multiple boosts, so EVs and nature are set up to maximize physical bulk, to have better match-ups with uninvested physical attackers and to better take on Psyshock Alakazam.

Blissey fits on stall because its reduced utility means it is harder to fit onto balance, but also because there are no other Pokemon in stall that are able to beat such a wide range of special attackers and stallbreakers. Blissey requires strong physical walls to check the variety of physical threats, such as Tangrowth for Breloom, Slowbro for Azumarill, Mamoswine, Feraligatr, Infernape, and Lucario, Unaware Clefable checks dders statuppers, and Skarmory for Feraligatr, Mamoswine and Lucario, who also provides Hazard support. (this whole section is a mess, albeit mostly grammatically, but please reorder the ideas you're trying to jolt down on the analysis; you need particular support for physical threats, which can be divided in wallbreakers and statuppers, and describe the best partners for them, and something like SkarmBliss, Gliscor, Tangrowth and Slowbro definitely deserve special mentions, as well as someone that doesn't let Blissey be a fodder for Water breakers) Also, an Alakazam switch-in is needed, with Specially Defensive Scizor fulfilling that role best, with it appreciating not having to be worn down by other special assaults. Like with the utility set, CM Blissey needs support in the form of hazard removal like Gliscor or Starmie, a Ground-Type to prevent Volt Switchers from gaining free momentum and a Heatran switch-in, like Slowbro or Gliscor, so you don't lose to trapping Heatran. (those are both shaky to put against stallbreaker tran, since there are sets dealing with both; also, Rotom formes, dont forget about Rotom formes and how Gastrodon is kind of the problem solver for Wash, either here or in the set above (prob better on the set above this one)

Other moves that can be used are Counter, to surprise uninvested physical threats like a U-Turning Scizor, or Healing Wish, that can see some use outside of stall to get more use out of wallbreakers or sweepers. Both rely on surprise factor to be effective, and take away utility so are not commonly seen.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Physical Attackers**: Blissey's lacking physical bulk means any physical wallbreaker will easily defeat it. Crawdaunt will deal heavy damage to whatever switches in, Choice Band Infernape will OHKO with Close Combat. Poison Heal Breloom and Mamoswine appreciate the opportunity to Spore/Substitute, and are not threatened by Blissey's moveset so switch in easily. (also a Lucario mention?)

**Trapping Heatran**: Magma Storm Heatran traps Blissey and deals 12.5% per turn, and then Taunt prevents it from healing, letting Heatran easily remove Blissey. However, Heatran struggles versus Blissey if it already set up a Calm Mind. (id add a section for stallbreakers in general, including not only Heatran but also something along the lines of NP Togekiss, CM Tios and Stored Power Tias who work very well against stall since the only set that can deal with all of them is the CM one; also, a mention on Rotom forms since they're one of the most famous stall measures thanks to Nasty Plot and Trick; lemme know how would you implement this)

**Life Orb Alakazam**: Alakazam can OHKO Blissey after a Nasty Plot with Psyshock and cleanly 2HKOes with Focus Blast, while Blissey can only threaten it back with a paralysis from Thunder Wave.

Calm Mind Blissey shuts down most bulky special sweepers like Latios and Togekiss that can break through an unboosted Blissey after several boosts, while also offering a strong late game win condition. BoltBeam (remove space) coverage is necessary as a Calm Mind war will could end with a critical hit (especially when you are running Blissey) (I don't really get why you wrote this point, since honestly you're bound to win more CM wars by having an actual chance of surviving almost anything than your opponent, and it depends on the Pokémon; you can justify BoltBeam by just hitting everyone and explaining on Seismic Toss that you can't beat a lot of bulky waters and the likes of Scizor with Toss except by stalling them out, thus risking more) so having neutral coverage is key to give your opponent fewer turns to get it. However, since special boosters are uncommon, Seismic Toss is preferred over Thunderbolt as it is more useful against non-statuppers. Ice Beam is kept over Thunderbolt as it covers most of the special boosters like the Lati twins and Togekiss. Soft-Boiled is necessary for being healthy to check special checks throughout the game.

However, Blissey requires strong physical walls to check the variety of Pokemon that threaten it. For statupping threats, like Azumarill, Feraligator, Dragonite, and Lucario, Unaware Clefable is a good check to the first 3, with Gliscor, Slowbro, and Whirlwind(?) Skarmory (Skarm takes too much from CC although its indeed a one time check, but at that point you just Brave Bird into it) being effective against Lucario. For Breloom in particular, Tangrowth will check all of its sets, and offers a secondary line of defense against Lucario. The aforementioned Tangrowth or Defensive Shaymin can help against the water breakers Crawdaunt, Feraligatr, and Azumarill, with their different shortcomings: Tangrowth is weak to Sludge Bomb Crawdaunt and Shaymin relies on the less preferable Rest or Leech Seed for healing. though does not switch in if they outspeed. Defensive Shaymin offers an alternative to the Offensive Waters that is less vulnerble to the Ice Beams and Sludge Bombs that Feraligator and Crawdaunt run to beat Tangrowth, though has to rely on Rest or Leech Seedfor healing. Skarmory is a particularly effective partner, checking Weavile, Mamoswine, Lucario, and Feraligatr, while offering the hazard support missing from CM Blissey. For the Choice Banded wallbreakers, like Infernape, Mamoswine, and Azumarill, Slowbro is an effective check, though to check Choice Band Azumarill consistently it needs a partner that resists Fairy-type attacks, like Skarmory. Gliscor again makes a good partner, offering Defog support, as well as checking Lucario and Infernape, though most variants will get 2HKOd by Choice Band Flare Blitz (full physdef gliscor actually eats, incredible). Another option would be Poliwrath, which is one of the few true counters to Crawdaunt, which would otherwise terrorize most stall teams, and also acts as a check to Feraligatr, being able to phase it with Circle Throw. Also, an Alakazam switch-in is needed, with Specially Defensive Scizor fulfilling that role best, with it appreciating not having to be worn down by other special assaults. Like with the utility set, CM Blissey needs support in the form of hazard removal like Gliscor or Starmie, a Ground type to prevent Volt Switchers from gaining free momentum and a Heatran switch-in, like Slowbro or Gliscor, so you don't lose to trapping Heatran, but be aware in scouting its set. Blissey users should try to scout the Heatran set as they can lure and remove common switch-ins, such as Charcoal/Choice Specs Heatran which removes Gliscor with Overheat + Rocks. (it doesnt really need the full explaination here, its probably better in check/counters)

Other moves that can be used are Counter, to surprise uninvested physical threats like a U-Turning Scizor, or Healing Wish, to give at one of your wallbreakers or sweepers a second chance in non-stall teams. Counter relies on surprise factor to be useful though, and both take away utility so are not commonly seen. (I reworded this a bit)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Physical Attackers**: Blissey's lacking physical bulk means any physical wallbreaker will easily defeat it. Crawdaunt takes extreme advantage from Blissey, heavily hurting or directly KOing any possible switch-in that isn't Poliwrath, Lucario or Choice Band Infernape will OHKO with Close Combat, and Poison Heal Breloom and Mamoswine appreciate the opportunity to Spore or Substitute, and most of them are not threatened by Blissey's moveset so they can switch in easily, with only Lucario and Infernape fearing a stray Thunder Wave.

**Stallbreakers**: Most stallbreaking Pokemon have Blissey in mind and are prepared to remove it. Statboosters like Nasty Plot Togekiss, Calm Mind Latios or Stored Power Latias that rip apart stall are only checked by CM Blissey, removing Utility Blissey after some boosts. Stallbreaker Heatran traps Blissey with Magma Storm and Taunts to prevent it from healing, letting Heatran easily remove Blissey. However, Heatran will struggle versus Blissey if it already set up a Calm Mind. Rotom formes threaten to Trick a Choice Scarf onto Blissey, crippling it, and threaten to set up Nasty Plots unopposed.

**Life Orb Alakazam**: Alakazam can OHKO Blissey after a Nasty Plot with Psyshock and cleanly 2HKOs with Focus Blast, while Blissey can only threaten it back with a paralysis from Thunder Wave.

before you get scared, most of it is just rewording of things or correcting grammatical errors, with only a part of this actually QCing

that being said, QC 2/2 when implemented! (finally :blobpex: )

Probably should've rejected after I came across "statuppers," but here you go. Giving this another check because I had to rewrite a lot. Please refer to the standards next time you write, and let me or the discord know if you have any questions about rules or this check.

[OVERVIEW]

Blissey is a great special wall, able to sponge almost every special attack, even very strong ones like Latios and Starmie, making it standard on most stall teams and something to consider on other bulky teams for its ability to wall almost every special attacker, even strong ones like Latios and Starmie. It doubles up as a status absorber and can work as a defensive win condition that beats most stallbreakers with the Calm Mind set or support its team with its utility set, letting it put up rocks, spread paralysis or act as a cleric. However, Blissey's passivity can be exploited by physical attackers like Azumarill, Lucario, Mamoswine, and Breloom. Futhermore, even Blissey cannot deal with some of the most problematic special attackers, such as Life Orb Alakazam and stallbreaker Heatran.

[SET COMMENTS]

With almost no relevant Ghost-types, Seismic Toss provides good neutral damage against all foes. Blissey makes a good Stealth Rock setter due to it good bulk and recovery, giving it the longevity to set them up multiple times its longevity granting many opportunities. Thunder Wave cripples fast attackers such as Infernape and Latios. Heal Bell is an alternative to Thunder Wave allowing Blissey to act as a cleric, but the lack of Thunder Wave makes it much safer to switch in for clerical support but makes Blissey much easier to switch into. Also, teams running Blissey often need Thunder Wave support, so if you run Heal Bell, you should have it Thunder Wave elsewhere on your team. Blissey has no problems beating special attackers with uninvested Special Defense, so EVs and nature are used to maximize physical bulk to let it stay in on weaker physical pokemon like Specially Defensive Scizor or Gliscor and take on better Psyshock Alakazam physical bulk is maximized for staying in against weaker physical attackers like specially defensive Scizor and better taking on Psyshock Alakazam. Coverage moves such as Ice Beam for Gliscor, Garchomp, and Breloom, Thunderbolt to chip Water-types, (comma) and Flamethrower for Scizor may also be run if you need to lure them.

Defensive Blissey fits well on stall and balance style of teams, (comma) with its ability to blanket check most special attackers and its great support moveset. However, this means that the team must run solid physical walls/checks such as Tangrowth, Slowbro and Clefable to prevent physical attackers from taking advantage of Blissey. Its team must compensate for its physical weakness with solid physical walls such as Tangrowth, Slowbro, and Clefable. Also, a separate check to Alakazam is needed, either through in Scizor, another priority user like Azumarill, or a faster Pokemon like Weavile or Choice Scarf Dual Chop Garchomp, which can OHKO Focus Sash Alakazam with Dual Chop is needed. Hazard control is important, as Blissey gets pressured and worn down by hazards, as they can do more damage than the attacks it absorbs, so Pokemon like Gliscor or Starmie are essential, both of which can also handle trapping Gliscor and Starmie provide important entry hazard removal and also beat stallbreaker Heatran. The aformentioned Gliscor makes an especially good partner, as it checks Life Orb Alakazam, blocks Volt Switch, offers Defog support, and can check either Heatran or almost any non Water-type physical attacker depending on its set. If you are not running Gliscor, be sure to have a Ground-type to prevent strong Volt Switches from Magnezone or Offensive Rotom which could otherwise overwhelm your team, Sticky Hold Gastrodon is another good partner as it also invalidates block Volt Switch users like Magnezone and Rotom. Sticky Hold Gastrodon is a good option for also invalidating Trick Choice Scarf Rotom-W. Most Ground-type Pokemon in general also have the added benefit of checking check stallbreaker Heatran, which will remove Blissey if not careful.

Thanks for spending so much time checking it, I really appreciate it! OP should have all the edits incorporated.
Sorry to be annoying, but just a few questions/clarifications:
With almost no relevant Ghost-types, Seismic Toss provides good neutral damage against all foes. Blissey makes a good Stealth Rock setter due to it good bulk and recovery, giving it the longevity to set them up multiple times its longevity granting many opportunities.
this just reads very weirdly to me : "Blissey makes a good Stealth Rock setter due to its longevity granting many opportunities." seems like it should have "to set them up" or something like that tacked on to the end.

Another option would be Poliwrath, which is one of the few true counters to stallbreaking menace Crawdaunt, which would otherwise terrorize most stall teams, and also acts as a check to Feraligator, being able to phase it with Circle Throw and a check to Feraligatr.
reads: "Another option would be Poliwrath, which is one of the few true counters to stallbreaking menace Crawdaunt and a check to Feraligatr."
should there not be a "the" in front of "stallbreaking menace" and an "is" in front of "a check"?
becomes: "Another option would be Poliwrath, which is one of the few true counters to the stallbreaking menace Crawdaunt and is a check to Feraligatr."

My only hesitation is that invested scizor is not a weaker physical attacker. Max atk scizor is either SD LO, which blissey should not stay in on, or Band scizor, where you can counter safely on u-turn, but brick break does too much to risk it (hence the uninivested in the original). the main target is spdef scizor which you want to hit while it u-turns. that said, since spdef runs SD commonly (the alternative is defog), it is probably better to change it to Gliscor.
So can I change "U-turn Scizor" to "Gliscor", "Defog Scizor" or both?
so it becomes: "Counter can surprise weaker physical attackers like Gliscor or Defog Scizor, and Healing Wish can give a wallbreaker or sweeper on a balance team a second chance. Both take away too much utility for most teams, however."

thanks again, and sorry to bother you.

I just disliked the bit of redundancy after "setter," you can put that in

you don't need 'the' for descriptors like that, think of something like "internet user cyrogyro". the second 'is' isn't necessary because there's parallelism with "Poliwrath is..."

and, not or, but go ahead. you use and for plural (attackers) and or for singular
reads: "Stallbreaker Heatran traps Blissey with Magma Storm and Taunt."
should it not be "and taunts"
it wins through the combination of magma storm and taunt. i generally dislike putting s at the end of moves (pluralizing or making a verb) because the games don't do it

don't be sorry, i appreciate questions and the legitimate interest
