[SET COMMENTS]
Swords Dance Blaziken is a terrifying sweeper once it gets going, boosting its already high Attack to terrifying levels while boosting its Speed at the same time with Speed Boost. However, Blaziken’s frailty and middling initial Speed tier mean it struggles immensely to find setup opportunities. The likes of Ash-Greninja and Choice Scarf Landorus-T easily revenge kill it, and it tends to quickly faint to its own recoil. Flare Blitz is its main STAB move, hitting a large portion of the tier at least neutrally, including Pokemon such as Landorus-T, Clefable, and Rillaboom. Close Combat nails certain Fire-resistant and immune Pokemon such as Mega Tyranitar, Garchomp, and Heatran, as well as KOing Pokemon like Ferrothorn and Blissey without inflicting recoil damage. Thunder Punch allows Blaziken to nail bulky Water-types such as Toxapex, Tapu Fini, and Slowbro. Life Orb vastly improves Blaziken’s damage output, letting it score OHKOs on Toxapex, Gliscor, and Mega Garchomp when boosted.
Due to Blaziken's low bulk, dual screens are practically a requirement to set up, so Tapu Koko and Grimmsnarl work well with it. Pokemon like Hawlucha and Mega Gyarados appreciate Blaziken wearing down bulky Water-types such as Toxapex, Slowbro, and Tapu Fini. Since it struggles to break through its checks without chip damage, entry hazard setters such as Mew, Landorus-T, and Excadrill are good teammates. As Blaziken can struggle against bulky Water-types such as Slowbro and Toxapex, Pokemon such as Serperior and Rillaboom that exploit them are superb partners. Tapu Koko's Electric Terrain lets Blaziken set up consistently on Amoonguss and boosts its Thunder Punch damage, Tapu Lele's Psychic Terrain stops moves like Ash-Greninja's Water Shuriken and Urshifu-R's Aqua Jet from revenge killing it, and Rillaboom's Grassy Terrain increases its longevity greatly in the face of recoil and chip damage. Pokemon that can break holes in opposing teams such as Hawlucha and Weavile allow Blaziken to clean late-game much more easily.

Other Options
=============
Blaziken can run multiple different Z-Moves, such as Gigavolt Havoc, which nails bulky Water-types such as Slowbro, Toxapex, and Tapu Fini but leaves it unable to break through Gliscor and Mega Latias. Inferno Overdrive lets Blaziken get past Landorus-T and Gliscor, as well as granting a terrifying nuke in sun that can KO the likes of Toxapex and Mega Latias, but this set struggles to break past bulkier Water-types such as Slowbro and is very situational due to requiring sun to function its best. Breakneck Blitz gives Blaziken a strong neutral hit against all of its checks but is much weaker in general. Overall, Z-Move sets focus on targeting one specific Pokemon or group of Pokemon, and they can't break through Blaziken's other checks. A Choice Band set gives much greater immediate power but struggles due to how easy it is to scout and wear down. An Adamant nature can also be used for much more offensive prowess, but it misses out on a lot of important Speed tiers such as those of Tapu Koko, Ash-Greninja, and Mega Lopunny when boosted. A mixed Life Orb set with Fire Blast and Hidden Power Ice can hit the likes of Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Gliscor without a Z-Move or taking recoil, but it cuts into Blaziken’s power and coverage options. Earthquake can be used on the main set to hit the likes of Toxapex harder and hit Heatran without reducing Blaziken’s bulk, but dropping Thunder Punch lets other bulky Water-types easily wall it.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Bulky Water-types**: Without sufficient chip damage or a Z-Move, the likes of Slowbro and Toxapex can take a boosted hit and retaliate with their STAB moves or Haze.
**Faster Pokemon**: Due to Blaziken’s low initial Speed, the likes of Choice Scarf Landorus-T and Tapu Fini easily outspeed it. Pokemon with Swift Swim and Sand Rush such as Excadrill and Mega Swampert easily outspeed a boosted Blaziken, and they can force it out consistently.
**Strong Priority**: Because of Blaziken’s terrible bulk, even resisted priority moves such as Choice Band Rillaboom's Grassy Glide can revenge kill a chipped Blaziken, so Pokemon like Fake Out Mega Lopunny and Mega Medicham, Water Shuriken Ash-Greninja, and Aqua Jet Urshifu-R and Crawdaunt definitely hurt it.
**Chip Damage**: Blaziken is extremely prone to chip damage from Flare Blitz and Life Orb recoil, entry hazard damage, and Rough Skin and Iron Barbs, which often means it faints after only getting one hit off.
**Mega Latias and Mega Latios**: Both Mega Latias and Mega Latios resist both of Blaziken’s STAB options, as well as its common coverage, and their high bulk combined with reliable recovery lets both of them consistently check Blaziken and force it out.
