XY OU Blastoise and Friends

Greetings. I'm a novice player who just picked up Pokemon X a few weeks ago, and this is my first OU team. I've played it both in-game and on PS, and it seems to work decently enough, but I'd like to see how I can make it even better. The EV spreads and move lists were taken from the Strategy Pokedex.

Blastoise-Mega @ Blastoisinite
Ability: Mega Launcher
EVs: 236 HP / 252 SpA / 20 Spe
Modest Nature
- Water Pulse
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin
- Dark Pulse

Mega-Blastoise is the centerpiece of my team, fulfilling several roles admirably. It clears out entry hazards, can take hits, and hits back hard with special attacks. Water Pulse is its primary STAB attack, benefiting from Mega Launcher to boost its power even higher than Scald while also having a chance to confuse. It also works better with Ice Beam since it won't thaw a frozen target.

Chesnaught @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Leech Seed
- Synthesis
- Spikes
- Hammer Arm

Chesnaught is a physical tank that can also lay down an entry hazard. It pairs well with Blastoise because it's resistant to both of Blastoise's weaknesses. Rocky Helmet was chosen as its held item for additional damage against physical attackers and to surprise players who expect it to be holding Leftovers (Also, Umbreon is already holding my only Leftovers). Synthesis gives it extra sustain and Leech Seed can help whittle down walls. Finally, Hammer Arm is a powerful STAB attack that gives it a source of direct damage.

gardevoir.gif

Gardevoir @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 HP / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Psyshock
- Moonblast
- Healing Wish

Gardevoir is my glass cannon. I already have a Mega, so I went with Choice Scarf as its item to improve its capabilities as a special sweeper. Moonblast and Psyshock are both fairly standard STAB moves, Thunderbolt improves its coverage while having better accuracy than Focus Blast, and Healing Wish is there as a late-game last resort.

lucario.gif

Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Earthquake
- ExtremeSpeed
- Poison Jab

I didn't play much Gen IV (if at all), but the Lucario I got as part of the story won me over. I bred one for this team and it's now my go-to physical sweeper, plowing through special walls and anything else with Fighting or Ground weaknesses like a champ. Close Combat is devastating with this EV/nature/item combination, Earthquake gives my team a strong Ground-type attack, and Extreme Speed is a much-needed priority move to give it an edge against other sweepers. The fact that it's resistant to eight types and immune to another is just icing. I used to have Swords Dance in the fourth move slot, but I'm trying Poison Jab for the moment to see if it gives me an edge against Fairy-types which resist Close Combat.

bisharp.gif

Bisharp @ Black Glasses
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance

After seeing the Strategy Pokedex and the forums recommend Bisharp, I convinced my brother who owns W2 to breed me a Pawniard and teach it Knock Off from the tutor so I could transfer it to my game. Bisharp fills a similar role as Lucario, dealing high physical damage against what Blastoise struggles with. All three of its damage-dealing moves benefit from STAB, which is pretty nice. Iron Head also gives me coverage against Fairy-types. As with Lucario, the fourth slot is something I'm still not completely sold on, probably because I'm too worried about it going down before I have a chance to benefit from the boost.

umbreon.gif

Umbreon @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Protect
- Heal Bell
- Foul Play
- Wish

When I added Umbreon to my team (which also required asking my brother for help), I expected it to be my cleric, passing Wishes and healing status effects while tanking special attacks. It fills that role fairly well, but also has remarkable late-game synergy with Chesnaught. Chesnaught sets up Leech Seed and (if needed) Spikes, then Umbreon switches in and gradually wears down special attackers with Foul Play while making up for Chesnaught's less-than-stellar special defense. Chesnaught in turn handles physical attackers while keeping itself up with Synthesis.

Known weaknesses:

-Half my team is weak to Fighting and/or Fire moves. Gardevoir has the only Fighting resistance, but lacks the physical defense to be easy to switch in.
-The in-game team's IVs could be better, especially on Bisharp and Umbreon since my brother doesn't pay much attention to IVs and I can't transfer Pokemon from X to W2, only from W2 to X.
-Stall can be a real pain.
