Black-only OU Team

Ground Rules for our league:
1. Can only Pokemon found in Pokemon Black (no traded Pokemon or Gamesharked ones)
2. No Ubers, as defined by Smogon

Note: All my Pokemon's Hidden Power attacks stink in terms of their type.

The Team

Ferrothorn

Nature: Lax
Ability: Iron Barbs
Item: Quick Claw (trying to get another Leftovers)
EVs: 252 Def, 252 SpDef, 4 HP
Thunder Wave
Power Whip
Gyro Ball
Toxic
Description: This is my stall/support Pokemon. Thunder Wave paralyzes my opponent's Pokemon. This could allow me to (1) Switch to another Pokemon and attack with Speed advantage or (2) Attack with Ferrothorn's Power Whip or Gyro Ball. Toxic is there so it can hurt just about anything.

Krookodile

Nature: Bashful
Ability: Moxie
Item: Expert Belt
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Crunch
Brick Break
Description: I will use this Pokemon's physical attacks to beat most of my opponent's Pokemon. Since it will be handling a variety of Pokemon, it has Expert Belt. It gets STAB with Earthquake and Crunch. Rock Slide is mostly against Flying types. Brick Break is against Normal/Dark.

Haxorus

Nature: Mild
Ability: Mold Breaker
Item: Scope Lens
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Dragon Dance
Earthquake
X-Scissor
Dragon Claw
Description: My other physical sweeper. This one has resistances to a variety of Pokemon. Dragon Dance powers it and then I use the other attacks to strike. X-Scissor is a move I use against Dark/Psychic/Ghost. The main problem with this Pokemon is that it is slow. I was thinking about using Hydreigon instead, but then my team would be very weak against Fighting as I already have Ferrothorn and Krookodile.

Volcarona

Nature: Gentle
Ability: Flame Body
Item: SilverPowder
EVs: 252 SpAtk, 252 speed, 4 HP
Silver Wind
Quiver Dance
Heat Wave
Bug Buzz
Description: My Special sweeper. This Pokemon is very fast. I was thinking of replacing one of the bug attacks, probably Silver Wind, but could not decide what to replace it with.

Claydol (superior potential-2nd best; perfect 31 IV in Special Attack)
claydol.jpg

Nature: Brave
Ability: Levitate
Item: Soft Sand
EVs: 252 Speed, 252 HP, 4 Attack
Sandstorm
Hyper Beam
Extrasensory
Earthquake
Description: I chose this Pokemon to counter Fighting threats to Ferrothorn and Krookodile. The moveset is a bit funky. Earthquake is there for STAB. The rest of the moves are filler.

Mandibuzz
128px-630Mandibuzz.png

Nature: Bashful
Ability: Overcoat
Item: Rocky Helmet
EVs: 252 SpDef, 252 HP, 4 Speed
Fly
Faint Attack
Shadow Ball
Defog
Description: Filler Pokemon. This one can be removed for something else. I just haven't decided what. As it stands, Defog removes boosts and then Shadow Ball and Fly takes out Psychic/Bug/Grass.

Threats:
Conkeldurr
It has good attack and takes out Krookodile and Ferrothorn. The only Pokemon I have that is strong against it would be Claydol.

Water Pokemon such as Samurott
Water is good against Krookodile, Claydol, and Volcarona. Haxorus can defeat water but some water pokemon also know ice beam.

you might want to change their natures, none are helping their cause. also use roost on mandibuzz and dont bother with the recharging moves

Plus you also have 4 Pokemon weak to ice and 3 to water. And why Speed not Defense EVs on Claydol? I would run a more defensive set for it.

Claydol is a specialist of sorts. Two in my team, including my preferred sweeper and my preferred wall, is weak against Fighting (Krookodile, Ferrothorn) so I need a Psychic in there to deal with threats. I used Speed EVs to help Claydol outpace Fighting pokemon. I don't know if I need that much Speed though, as some fighting Pokemon are slow.

I plan on dropping Mandibuzz and adding Starmie. This will lessen my water weakness as well as give me another Psychic to deal with Fighting threats.
