Overview
########
  • Cool af atm
  • Defiant is pretty sweet since it punishes common Intimidate Pokemon like Landorus-T for switchin in
  • Knock Off buff also works in its favor by makin it harder to switch into
  • High Attack + Good STAB combo = frightening
  • Has middling speed though
  • Sucker Punch helps it get around faster Pokemon to make up for this
  • Is also weak to common attacking types like Fighting, Fire, and Ground
  • all in all a total baller though

All-Out Attacker
########
name: All-Out Attacker
move 1: Knock Off
move 2: Sucker Punch
move 3: Iron Head
move 4: Protect
ability: Defiant
item: Life Orb
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
nature: Adamant

Moves
========
  • Sucker Punch is for use against threats that would otherwise be faster or to beat slower mons w/ priority
  • Iron Head is a nice secondary STAB, hits most threats for good damage as well as hittin things like TTar and Togekiss for SE
  • Knock Off is sweet since it's more reliable than Sucker Punch, hits harder, and makes the opponent lose their item
  • Protect = Protect. Shields you from SE moves and such to prevent a KO. Even more useful on Bisharp since it's fairly frail

Set Details
========
  • Life Orb is a great choice to increase Bisharp's already great power and make it even more threatening
  • EVs let Bisharp have as much power as possible while still having a decent Speed, since the bulk isn't too important.
  • Adamant is for a better damage output since you don't need the speed provided by Jolly
  • Defiant lets you get a free boost off of stat droppers like Intimidate and Icy Wind, making Bisharp very threatening to Pokemon w/ those type of things
  • Low Kick could be used over Iron Head to hit Heatran but other than that Iron Head is better.
  • Swords Dance can be used to make it much more threatening w/ +2 STAB priority and an inability to have its stat boosts stripped by Intimidate
  • These moves are generally the standard on bisharp though, and wavering from them can lower overall effectiveness

Usage Tips
========
  • is a nice trick room check since it hits most setters super effectively before they can use trick room
  • use sucker punch to pick off faster but frail threats
  • when you outspeed a Pokemon and you want to use a Dark-type attack, use Knock Off since Sucker Punch can be played around.
  • if you have other Pokemon who don't like having their attack dropped by Intimidate, use Bisharp to try and scare the opponent from bringing in their Intimidator
  • try to avoid letting this thing take much damage since its p. frail and that + lo recoil will add up
  • another reason to keep it alive is that it makes for a very good late-game cleaner
  • generally knock off is the go to attack for Bisharp. sucker punch is for things that can outspeed you, and iron head is for things that resist knock off, or if the opponent has no item but you dont want to/dont need to risk sucker punch failing. protect is just for when you need to shield bisharp from unwanted damage, since it isn't hard to KO
  • while this strategy is risky, it's possible to switch bisharp in on a predicted icy wind, electroweb, or snarl and get a +2 from defiant while taking next to no damage

Team Options
========
  • strong physical attackers such as Tyranitar or Landorus-T will appreciate bisharp dealing w/ intimidate pokemon
  • psychics or fairies or ghosts such as follow me togekiss or cresselia can take fighting type hits for bisharp
  • slower pokemon such as Amoonguss or will appreciate Bisharp's ability to check faster threats w/ Sucker Punch.
  • faster pokemon such as Terrakion will like Bisharp being able to KO most Trick Room setters
  • partners that can tank/redirect powerful hits for Bisharp like togekiss or amoonguss are cool to have. amoonguss also has the advantage of handling fighting-types while bisharp handles psychic-types that are problems for amoonguss
  • speed control from Pokemon such as Rotom-W or Cresselia or Togekiss is pretty useful, since Bisharp is even more threatening when it doesnt need to rely on sucker punch for faster threats.
  • flying-types such as Talonflame make for good partners to decimate fighting-types. also, bisharp pairs well with them since it discourages the opponent from bringin in an intimidate pokemon to check your flying-type
  • wide guard users are iuseful to shield bisharp from super effective earthquakes and heat waves

Other Options
########
  • Due to the amount of switches it forces it can run Substitute. Also lets it dodge Will-O-Wisp
  • CB is nice to have a huge amount of power, but being locked into a move is a pain
  • Focus Sash is nice since Bisharp has many weaknesses and isnt too bulky
  • Lum Berry can be used to get rid of problematic burns, but other items are usually more useful
  • Psycho Cut to lure in and hit Fighting-types for SE damage
  • Taunt for slower mons that think they could hit it w/ status or still use support moves
  • Pursuit could be interesting to pick off a mon that thinks it can just switch out
  • Choice Scarf to surprise those expecting a slower set w/ a powerful hit before they move

Checks & Counters
########
  • fighting types like terrakion and conkeldurr will mess up bisharp
  • mach punch from breloom and conkeldurr especially are threatening since it will KO Bisharp before it can use an Iron Head
  • fire types such as charizard-y and heatran and volcarona will all mess up bisharp w/ stab heat wave. have trouble switchin in though
  • scarf ttar can outspeed and use low kick to KO
  • burns will make bisharp alot weaker, altho bisharp can actually threaten most burn users w/ a large chunk of damage
  • garchomp can outspeed, live through sucker punch, and ko w/ earthquake makin it a nice check
  • opposing bisharp w/ low kick, mega gyarados, and keldeo can all resist both of its stabs and hit it back for alot of damage
  • something w/ substitute is cool to be able to play around sucker punch as needed
Overview
########

Thanks to an excellent ability, high Attack, and dangerous STAB moves, Bisharp has no problem threatening opposing teams. Defiant is one of the best abilities in the metagame since it punishes common Intimidate users such as Landorus-T and Hitmontop for switching in, as well as letting Bisharp take advantage of moves such as Icy Wind and Snarl for free Attack boosts. Knock Off makes Bisharp very difficult to switch into while dealing large amounts of damage, and Sucker Punch lets it take out frailer Pokemon and helps compensate for its middling Speed. While Bisharp does suffer from frailness coupled with weaknesses to common Fire-, Fighting-, and Ground-type attacks, these issues are not enough to stop it from being an excellent attacker.

All-Out Attacker
########
name: All-Out Attacker
move 1: Knock Off
move 2: Sucker Punch
move 3: Iron Head
move 4: Protect
ability: Defiant
item: Life Orb
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
nature: Adamant

Moves
========

Knock Off is the main move on this set and is notable for being both more powerful and more reliable than Sucker Punch while also stripping opposing Pokemon of their items, making Bisharp hard to switch into. Sucker Punch is for Pokemon that outspeed Bisharp, allowing it to pick them off before they can strike. However, the fact that it fails when the opponent isn't attacking makes it easier to play around than Knock Off, so when facing a Pokemon that Bisharp outspeeds, it's usually safer to go with Knock Off. Iron Head is a secondary STAB attack that's mainly used when Bisharp encounters something that resists its Dark-type attacks, or you're relying on a flinch. Protect is used to shield Bisharp from damage, which is especially useful as a strong attack will often put it out of commission.

Set Details
========

Life Orb is chosen to augment Bisharp's already high Attack to deal as much damage as possible, making it into an even more threatening attacker. The EVs give Bisharp as much power as possible, with an Adamant nature chosen over Jolly since Bisharp doesn't really need the extra Speed. Defiant allows Bisharp to get free Attack boosts from users of Intimidate and Icy Wind, which is great since they are very common. Focus Sash is an option since Bisharp has a lot of weaknesses and isn't very bulky. Low Kick is an option over Iron Head to hit Heatran super effectively, but other than that, Iron Head is better. Also, Swords Dance is an option as it makes Bisharp even more threatening, and the boosts can't be lowered by Intimidate thanks to Defiant. The listed set is generally the most effective one on Bisharp, though, so one should be wary of deviating from it.

Usage Tips
========

Bisharp makes for a great Trick Room check since it can hit most Trick Room setters super effectively, KOing them before they can set it up. Sucker Punch should be used to pick off fast, frail threats on the opposing team. However, if Bisharp outspeeds a Pokemon and you want to use a Dark-type attack, go with Knock Off as it's more powerful and reliable. If there are other Pokemon on your team that dislike Intimidate, using Bisharp to dissuade the opponent from switching in their Intimidate users is a good idea. Try to avoid letting Bisharp take any hits it doesn't need to, as its frailness coupled with Life Orb recoil means that any extra hits will hamper Bisharp's effectiveness. It can be a good idea to save Bisharp for late-game so it can clean up weakened teams with high-powered Sucker Punches. While this play can be risky, it's possible to switch Bisharp in on a predicted Icy Wind, Electroweb, or Snarl and get a +2 Attack boost from Defiant while taking very little damage.

Team Options
========

Strong physical attackers such as Landorus-T and Mega Kangaskhan appreciate Bisharp's ability to threaten Intimidate users. Psychic-, Fairy-, and Ghost-types such as Togekiss and Cresselia make for good partners since they can switch into Fighting-type attacks for Bisharp. Slower Pokemon such as Amoonguss appreciate that Bisharp can check faster threats with Sucker Punch. Faster Pokemon such as Terrakion and Shaymin-S like having Bisharp around since it can threaten most Trick Room setters. Terrakion also makes a particularly good partner because it can threaten Mega Charizard Y and Heatran, both of which can KO Bisharp. Partners that can redirect powerful hits for Bisharp such as Togekiss or Amoonguss are good to have. Amoonguss also appreciates how Bisharp can threaten the Psychic-types that prey on it, and it has Spore to put a threatening Pokemon out of commission. Speed control from Pokemon such as Rotom-W, Cresselia, or Togekiss is useful since Bisharp is even more threatening when it doesn't need to rely on Sucker Punch to handle faster Pokemon. Flying-types such as Talonflame make for good partners to Bisharp since they can decimate Fighting-types. Wide Guard users such as Hitmontop are good partners since they can shield Bisharp from Heat Waves and Earthquakes that would otherwise KO it.

Other Options
########

Due to the amount of switches it can force, Substitute can be a good option for Bisharp; it also lets Bisharp avoid status moves such as Will-O-Wisp. Choice Band is an option to make Bisharp's attacks even more devastating, but being locked into a move can make Bisharp easy to take advantage of. Choice Scarf is also an option to surprise people expecting a slower set with a powerful hit. Lum Berry can be used to cure burns that would cripple Bisharp, but a Life Orb is typically more useful. Psycho Cut can be used to lure in Fighting-types and hit them super effectively, but it's fairly situational. Taunt can mess up slower support Pokemon such as Amoonguss, rendering them useless. It also has the added benefit of forcing the opponent to attack or switch out, letting you use Sucker Punch with greater certainty. Pursuit could potentially be used to pick off fleeing Pokemon, but this move is highly situational and as such is not recommended.

Checks & Counters
########

**Offensive Typing Advantage**: Fighting-types such as Terrakion, Keldeo, and Conkeldurr can easily OHKO Bisharp. Mach Punch users such as Conkeldurr and Breloom are especially threatening since they can hit Bisharp before it can use an Iron Head. Garchomp can outspeed Bisharp, live through a Sucker Punch, and KO back with Earthquake. Fire-types such as Mega Charizard Y, Heatran, and Volcarona can all OHKO Bisharp with Heat Wave, although they have trouble switching into it. Opposing Bisharp with Low Kick resist Bisharp's STAB moves and KO back. Mega Gyarados resists both of Bisharp's STAB moves and can hit back for large amounts of damage, Choice Scarf Tyranitar resists Sucker Punch and has no trouble OHKOing with Low Kick or Superpower.

**Burns**: Pokemon that commonly carry Will-O-Wisp, such as Rotom-W and Sableye, can neuter Bisharp's offensive presence by burning it, although they might take heavy damage in the process.

**Utility Moves**: Faster Pokemon with Substitute such as Heatran and Chandelure can potentially be good Bisharp checks, as Substitute lets them play around Sucker Punch as needed.

just a quick check atm

  • move the 'middling speed' point before the point about sucker punch, as then you can say sucker punch makes up for the speed and it just flows better
  • in moves, also mention defiant can give boosts from random drops from stuff like shadow ball and crunch, which is awesome when it happens
  • put substitute in set details imo. its really cool for evading status and has the bulk to take a lot of weaker/resisted hits without breaking its sub. subprotect is a really solid bisharp set, and im even tempted to say sub should be slashed behind knock off in the set itself, since thats where it would go.
  • mention bisharp is a great late game cleaner in usage tips, so thats another good reason to keep it alive for most of the match. also many teams are weak to it, so its good to have around - very anti-meta
  • i dont think sr should be in oo, as you really shouldnt be using bisharp for sr. it really needs those other slots, and the other other options (oO) are more viable. also add choice scarf
  • in c&c, say the fire-types have trouble switching in as the combination of knock off+sucker punch kos them all (knock off alone ohkos volc)
  • i dont think scarf ttar deserves its own mention; it cant switch in, and loads of other scarf mons can do the same. just say fast mons with super effective moves imo
  • also mention paralysis is annoying cos bisharp rly likes some of the things it outspeeds, and not being able to outspeed them is bad for its viability

not qc so you dont have to do this :]

scarftar is really the only common scarfer that would be able to tank a sucker punch and then ko in return that i can think of. and it's still a check, hence the term. there really aren't many common scarf pokemon right now anyways, so i didnt really feel a need to mention any others. for substitute being a slash I'd like to hear from some QC members

You have 2 useless EVs in both HP and Speed. Change the EV spread to 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spd or 124 HP / 252 Atk / 132 Spd

You have 2 useless EVs in both HP and Speed. Change the EV spread to 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spd or 124 HP / 252 Atk / 132 Spd
thanks for the catch. ended up just goin w/ a 252/252 spread though since from my testing it's alot better than the old one (if rotom-ws ran speed or something for example then you'd end up being burnt before you used Knock Off which sucked). can i get a check on this now someone?

Overview:
  • Bisharp doesn't scare off Pokemon with Intimidate, it prevents them from switching in safely, just tweak the wording imo, unless you want to start switching Hitmontop into Lando-T and Hitmontops :p
  • Mention its huge base attack and good STAB coverage. STAB KNOCK OFF YO
Set:
  • Put Knock Off first, or at least in front of Iron Head, because Bisharp really only spams Knock Off unless Sucker Punch gets a KO.
  • inb4 weird Nollan spread.
Moves:
  • Go in to more detail with Protect and such before I stamp :O.
  • Mention that each of these moves is very important on Bisharp, and that wavering from them to increase unpredictability will limit Bisharp's effectiveness as an offensive mon. (you could either mention this here, the overview, or in other options, because it fits in all of them)
Set Comments:
  • Move Swords Dance here imo. A boosted Bisharp is very hard to take out.
Usage Tips:
  • Bisharp just spams Knock Off and Sucker Punch, preferably Knock Off. Iron Head and Protect have specific niches that should be explained how and when to be used.
Team Options:
  • Mention how much it loves Speed Control. A fast Bisharp is the scariest thing in the world.
  • Also mention specific Pokes for each bullet.
Checks and Counters:
  • Mention that Bisharp actually threatens most Burn inducers severely, such as every ghost-type that runs WoW and frailer Rotom forms. Only faster burns from like speedy Chande or Sableye can reliably cripple it.
  • Specifically mention Mach Punch, Breloom and Conk rek dat shit. IT is also the only reliable way to stop a boosted Bisharp beyond super resists or sacking while double targeting.
  • Opposing Bisharp with Low Kick/Brick Break, Keldeo, and Mega Gyarados all resist both STABs and can offensively threaten Bisharp.

Mention Quick Guard support since it's likely going to be drawing in a Fake Out from stuff that gives it a Defiant boost like Hitmontop and Scrafty, with QG you can buy a free turn for Bisharp to hit something with either Knock Off or Sucker Punch depending on what you're up against. It also stops stuff like Mach Punch I guess :<

Just a few things for Team Options:

-Flying-types in Team Options to beat Fighting-types. They also bait in Intimidate since many (Lando, Talonflame) are physical

-Wide Guard! Steel-types love it becuase it cockblocks EQ and Heat Wave, the two most common Ground- and Fire-type attacks. Wide Guard makes Volcarona, Landorus, Garchomp, and Mega CharY basically not-checks.

Solid otherwise :0

"Defiant is pretty sweet since it prevents common Intimidate Pokemon like Landorus-T from switchin in"
-It doesn't prevent them from switching in, just punishes them for doing so

Usage tips:
- Tho risky, Bisharp can switch in on moves like Icy Wind or Electro Web and get a free boost while taking little damage

other than those minor things this looks good Audiosurfer

  • I'd move Focus Sash up here, Bisharp is getting OHKOd most of the time so it's a good choice of item.
Team Options
  • Sell Terrakion harder, it stomps Fire-types like Zard-Y and Tran that threaten Bisharp
  • Amoonguss also provides Spore support which helps Bisharp deal with faster threats
Checks and Counters

I already had the line "and Sucker Punch lets it take out frailer Pokemon and compensate for its middling Speed. " in the writeup so not sure if you missed it or if you want me to elaborate more or something. I'll make the other changes tho, thanks for the check

========

Strong physical attackers such as Landorus-T or Mega Kangaskhan appreciate Bisharp's ability to threaten Intimidate users. Psychic-, Fairy-,(AC) and Ghost-types such as Togekiss and Cresselia make for good partners since they can switch into Fighting-type attacks for Bisharp. Slower Pokemon such as Amoonguss appreciate that Bisharp can check faster threats with Intimidate,(RC);(AS) Faster Pokemon such as Terrakion or and Shaymin-S like having Bisharp around since it can threaten most Trick Room setters. Terrakion also makes a particularly good partner because it can threaten Mega Charizard Y and Heatran, both of whom can KO Bisharp. Partners that can redirect powerful hits for Bisharp such as Togekiss or Amoonguss are good to have. Amoonguss also appreciates how Bisharp can threaten the Psychic-types that prey on Amoonguss, and has Spore to put a threatening Pokemon out of commission. Speed control from Pokemon such as Rotom-W, Cresselia, or Togekiss is useful,(RC) since Bisharp is even more threatening when it doesn't need to rely on Sucker Punch to handle faster Pokemon. Flying-types such as Talonflame make for good partners to Bisharp since they can decimate Fighting-types. Wide Guard users such as Hitmontop are good partners since they can shield Bisharp from Heat Waves and Earthquakes that would otherwise KO Bisharp.

Other Options
########

Due to the amount of switches it can force, Substitute can be a good option for Bisharp. This also lets Bisharp avoid status moves such as Will-O-Wisp. Choice Band is an option to make Bisharp's attacks even more devastating, but being locked into a move can make Bisharp easy to take advantage of. Choice Scarf is also an option to surprise people expecting a slower set with a powerful hit. Lum Berry can be used to cure burns that would cripple Bisharp, but a Life Orb is typicaly more useful.

**Offensive Typing Advantage**: Fighting-types such as Terrakion, Keldeo, and Conkeldurr can easily OHKO Bisharp. Users of Mach Punch Mach Punch users (less clunky imo) such as Conkeldurr and Breloom are especially threatening since they can hit Bisharp before it can use an Iron Head (im not very familiar with bisharp, but why iron head in particular instead of something like "move" or "attack"?). Mega Gyarados resists both of Bisharp's STAB moves and can hit back for large amounts of damage, Scarf Tyranitar resists Sucker Punch and has no trouble OHKOing with Low Kick or Superpower.

**Burns**: Pokemon that commonly carry Will-O-Wisp such as Rotom-W and Sableye can be problematic as being burned will neuter Bisharp's offensive presence, although Bisharp can deal a lot of damage to most Will-O-Wisp users before being burned.

**Utility Moves**: Faster Pokemon with Substitute such as Heatran and Chandelure can potentially be a good Bisharp check as Substitute lets it play around Sucker Punch as needed.

Thanks to an excellent ability, high Attack, and dangerous STAB attacks moves, Bisharp has no problem threatening opposing teams. Defiant is one of the best abilities in the metagame since it punishes common Intimidate users,(AC) such as Landorus-T and Hitmontop,(AC) (optional, but I like interrupting phrases to be set apart by commas) for switching in, as well as letting Bisharp take advantage of moves such as Icy Wind and Snarl for free Attack boosts. Knock Off makes Bishap Bisharp (#bishapnewmeta) very difficult to switch into while dealing large amounts of damage, and Sucker Punch lets it take out frailer Pokemon and helps compensate for its middling Speed. While Bisharp does suffer from frailness coupled with weaknesses to common Fire-, Fighting-, and Ground-type attacks, these issues are not enough to stop Bisharp from being an excellent attacker.

move 2: Sucker Punch
move 3: Iron Head
move 4: Protect
ability: Defiant
item: Life Orb
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
nature: Adamant

Moves

Knock Off is the main move on this set (or something else to that effect),(RC) and (You can put an "it" here if you want to keep the comma FYI) is notable for being both more powerful and more reliable than Sucker Punch while also stripping opposing Pokemon of their items, making it Bisharp (ambiguous) hard to switch into. Sucker Punch is for whenever a Pokemon would outspeed Pokemon that outspeed Bisharp, allowing Bisharp it to pick them off before they can strike. However, the fact that it fails when the opponent isn't attacking makes it easier to play around than Knock Off, so when facing a Pokemon that Bisharp outspeeds, it's usually safer to go with Knock Off. Iron Head is a secondary STAB attack that's mainly used for when you're attacking something that resists Bisharp's Dark-type attacks, or for if you're relying on a flinch. Protect is used to shield yourself from damage, which is especially useful as a strong attack will often put it Bisharp (sounded like you were referring to Protect) out of commission.

Set Details
========

Life Orb is chosen to augment Bisharp's already high Attack to deal as much damage as possible, making it into an even more threatening attacker. The EVs are to give Bisharp as much power as possible, with an Adamant nature chosen over Jolly since Bisharp doesn't really need the extra Speed. Defiant allows Bisharp to get free Attack boosts from users of Intimidate and Icy Wind, which is great since they are very common. Focus Sash is an option since Bisharp has a lot of weaknesses and isn't very bulky. Low Kick is an option over Iron Head to hit Heatran super effectively, but other than that,(AC) Iron Head is better. Also, Swords Dance is an option as it makes Bisharp even more threatening [while the boosts can't be taken by Intimidate] (I lost you here...do you mean "when" and not "while"???). The listed set is generally the most effective one on Bisharp, though, so one should be wary of deviating from it.

Usage Tips
========

Bisharp makes for a great Trick Room check since it can hit most Trick Room setters super effectively, KOing them before they can set up Trick Room. Sucker Punch should be used to pick off fast but frail threats on the opposing team. However, if you outspeed a Pokemon and want to use a Dark-type attack, go with Knock Off as it's more powerful and reliable. If there are other Pokemon on your team who dislike Intimidate, using Bisharp to dissuade the opponent from switching in their Intimidate users is a good idea. implemented (there were some things i realized were typos or at the sections where you said meaning was unclear, so i edited those). as for why i said iron head as opposed to attack is just because the fighting types resist the other moves bisharp carries
