In Balanced Hackmons, Zamazenta finally becomes the formidable physical wall it was designed to be! Its Fighting typing gives it useful resistances to moves like Wicked Blow and U-turn, as well as Stealth Rock, while having no weaknesses to any common physical moves, allowing it to blanket check physical threats. It also offers useful STAB options, with Combat Torque threatening would-be switch-ins like Eternatus with paralysis and Triple Arrows being more immediately threatening against Pokemon like Mega Audino and Celesteela; both deter Steel-types, making Zamazenta a good user of Mortal Spin. Knock Off removes a myriad of crucial items, like Heavy-Duty Boots and Covert Cloak from defensive switch-ins and Choice Band from wallbreakers. Zamazenta is able to stave off most physical wallbreakers like Ash-Greninja, but its somewhat modest bulk means it can be overwhelmed by strong threats like Mega Garchomp and Mega Blaziken, so defensive partners like Celesteela and Miraidon or a secondary Fur Coat user like Arceus-Ghost can help relieve pressure. Possible Imposter-proofs for Zamazenta include Arceus-Ghost and utility Eternatus.
