[OVERVIEW]

Bewear differentiates itself from other Fighting-type wallbreakers with its defensive presence; its solid bulk combined with Fluffy allows Bewear to switch into physically offensive threats such as Golisopod, Tyrantrum, and Drapion. Bewear also sports an amazing Attack stat and a boosting option in Swords Dance to punch sizable holes in any Pokemon that doesn't resist its STAB combination. Unfortunately, Bewear's lacking Speed and Special Defense and Fluffy giving it an additional Fire-type weakness mean that it rarely gets the opportunity to sweep and invites in faster threats such as Salazzle, Mega Blastoise, and Necrozma. Bewear can also be worn down quickly by repeatedly switching into resisted attacks and entry hazards, Toxic damage, and recoil from Double-Edge. It can mitigate this somewhat by running Drain Punch, however. Despite its unique defensive traits, Bewear faces heavy competition from other Fighting-types in RU such as Machamp, Passimian, and Hariyama, as they all sport superior coverage options, Speed tiers, and Special Defense.

Moves
========

Double-Edge is Bewear's strongest Normal-type STAB attack, with recoil as its only drawback. Superpower scores easier KOs against Pokemon like Diancie, Bronzong, and Stealth Rock Metagross after a boost. Shadow Claw allows Bewear to hit Ghost-types such as Mismagius, Palossand, and Alolan Marowak. Drain Punch is not as strong as Superpower, but it can let Bewear heal itself after taking damage from entry hazards, resisted attacks, or Double-Edge recoil.

Set Details
========

An Adamant nature gives Bewear the most wallbreaking power possible, but a Jolly nature can be used to outpace certain variants of Mantine and Metagross. Normalium Z powers up Double-Edge into Breakneck Blitz, which does not inflict recoil damage and allows Bewear to OHKO bulkier Pokemon like Cresselia, Slowbro, and Mandibuzz after a boost. Silk Scarf is a viable alternative if a Z-Crystal is being used elsewhere, as it gives Double-Edge more consistent power and can allow unboosted Double-Edge to potentially OHKO Florges after Stealth Rock damage. Fluffy is an excellent ability that eases setup while also allowing Bewear to actively check certain physical threats such as Barbaracle and Tyrantrum, although it leaves Bewear threatened out by most Fire-types like Salazzle.

Usage Tips
========

Thanks to Fluffy, Bewear can easily come in against physically offensive Pokemon like Barbaracle, Golisopod, and Rhyperior. It can also be brought in safely with the help of a pivot or after a teammate has fainted. Once in battle, Bewear can begin wallbreaking early- and mid-game or even sweep late-game, assuming all of its checks and counters have been dealt with. Fluffy can also allow Bewear to tank moves such as Virizion's Close Combat if needed, but don't let Bewear take too much damage if it is needed to check threats like Snorlax long-term. Bewear should begin setting up with Swords Dance after it has forced out the foe; then, it can threaten bulkier switch-ins such as Slowbro, Cresselia, and Donphan with its Z-Move. However, if a more offensive check like Noivern, Gardevoir, or Nidoqueen is expected to switch in, attacking immediately, even with Breakneck Blitz, can heavily dent or KO these threats and make Bewear much harder to revenge kill. Ghost-types can switch into either STAB move with no issue, so predicting this play with Shadow Claw can open up Bewear to use its stronger STAB attacks.

Team Options
========

Stealth Rock support from Pokemon like Metagross, Registeel, and Rhyperior assists in many of Bewear's KOs, and these Pokemon can also alleviate Bewear's weakness to Fairy-, Flying-, and Fire-type Pokemon. Bewear can often struggle with Psychic-types such as Cresselia and Gardevoir, as they handle Superpower easily and can tank unboosted Normal-type moves, so partners such as Mismagius, Houndoom, and Drapion can assist Bewear by taking advantage of Psychic-types as well as Ghost-types. Houndoom and Drapion further assist Bewear with Pursuit. Pokemon like Shaymin and Ribombee can threaten physical sponges like Donphan and Tangela and bait in Registeel and certain Rock-types, which can give Bewear an opening to wallbreak. The former also provides Healing Wish support, which can give Bewear another chance to wallbreak if it has taken too much damage early-game. Bewear's vulnerability to many faster threats such as Salazzle, Noivern, and Mega Blastoise means that it appreciates partners such as Aerodactyl, Tyrantrum, and Mega Sceptile, which are capable of offensively checking such Pokemon. Cleaners like Zygarde-10% and Lycanroc-D are capable of capitalizing on Bewear's ability to wear down or remove Pokemon like Donphan and Golisopod. Pivots such as Flygon, Noivern, and Raikou can safely bring Bewear into battle so it can begin wallbreaking.

Moves
========

Return is a fairly powerful Normal-type option with no drawbacks, but Double-Edge guarantees the 2HKO versus Slowbro and the OHKO against Florges and bulkier Noivern variants at the cost of inflicting recoil. Superpower is Bewear's strongest Fighting-type STAB option with the most reliable damage output, and the stat drops from using the move are often not a big hindrance, as Bewear is likely to switch out after getting a KO regardless. Shadow Claw enables Bewear to avoid getting walled by Ghost-types such as Mismagius and Alolan Marowak. Drain Punch gives Bewear a Fighting-type option that doesn't lower its stats, and it can also keep Bewear healthy in order to tank more hits. Facade can also be used to let Bewear be threatening even after a Scald burn, and it can punish bulkier foes for afflicting Bewear with Toxic.

Set Details
========

An Adamant nature maximizes Bewear's damage output, with Jolly only being useful for outpacing a few Pokemon like Mantine and Jolly Pangoro. Choice Band gives Bewear great immediate power and capitalizes on its spammable STAB combination. Fluffy enables Bewear to check and threaten out more physical attackers, which lets it potentially punch a hole in the opposing team, but it does leave Bewear revenge killed more easily by Fire-types such as Salazzle and Houndoom.

Usage Tips
========

Choice Band Bewear is capable of dealing great immediate damage without requiring a turn to set up, which can allow it to threaten Pokemon like Metagross and Machamp much more easily in order to get more chances to wallbreak. Bring Bewear into battle by switching into resisted hits such as Golisopod's First Impression, after a teammate has fainted, on a double switch, or with the help of a pivot. Avoiding certain attacks like Knock Off can allow Bewear to bluff a Swords Dance set more easily, often dissuading the use of Protect from Pokemon such as Registeel and Vaporeon, which can otherwise safely scout what move Bewear locks itself into. While Bewear's bulk alongside Fluffy can allow it to take a hit from Pokemon like Metagross and Machamp, it may need to stay healthy in order to switch into other threats such as Golisopod and Tyrantrum.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard support from setters such as Necrozma, Roserade, and Forretress helps Bewear achieve various KOs. Necrozma and Roserade can also pressure certain physical walls such as opposing Forretress and Tangela, while Volt Switch from a partnering Forretress can get Bewear in safely. While Bewear can nail Psychic-types on the switch with Double-Edge, Pokemon capable of checking them like Golisopod and Houndoom are still appreciated, as Psychic-types can still pivot into Superpower and threaten Bewear if brought in safely. Pokemon such as Noivern and Dragalge can help check various threats to Bewear like Roserade and Salazzle while also drawing in Snorlax and Registeel, which creates an opening for Bewear to wallbreak. Dragalge is also able to absorb Toxic Spikes, which otherwise can wear Bewear down much more quickly. Cleaners such as Barbaracle and Shaymin appreciate Bewear's wallbreaking prowess and ability to pressure threats like Golisopod and Registeel, with Shaymin being capable of supporting Bewear with Healing Wish as well. Ghost-types are an issue even with proper coverage, as they are immune to both STAB moves, and locking Bewear into Shadow Claw can generate free turns for certain threats such as Barbaracle and Virizion, so having a Pursuit trapper such as Drapion, Houndoom, or Metagross could help ease Bewear's time wallbreaking.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Bulk Up alongside Substitute and Leftovers can make Bewear more difficult to take down with physical attacks and can punish passive Pokemon like Bronzong and Registeel, but it loses out on the raw power of Swords Dance and a Z-Move. Taunt can also harass defensive Pokemon by preventing status and recovery, but it requires sacrificing a coverage move or Swords Dance.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Special Attackers**: Bewear's mediocre Speed and lacking Special Defense leave it vulnerable to getting revenge killed by Pokemon such as Salazzle, Noivern, Mega Blastoise, and Roserade. However, these Pokemon struggle to safely come in against Bewear.

**Psychic-types**: Bulkier Psychic-types such as Slowbro and Cresselia are capable of pivoting into most, if not all, of Bewear's attacks safely, only taking notable damage from boosted Normal-type attacks. Gardevoir can use Trace to copy Fluffy, which allows it to switch into any attack other than Breakneck Blitz. Other Psychic-types like Necrozma, Sigilyph, and Espeon can threaten out Bewear easily and can attempt to pivot into Fighting-type moves, but they risk being KOed by other attacks.

**Ghost-types**: Although few and far between, Ghost-types such as Mismagius, Palossand, and Alolan Marowak can put Bewear in poor positions, as they can only be hit by weaker coverage options. They can also set up freely if Choice Band Bewear mistakenly locks itself into a STAB move.

**Residual Damage**: If not running Drain Punch, Bewear is vulnerable to getting chipped down by entry hazards, Toxic, Double-Edge recoil, and resisted attacks from Pokemon like Golisopod, Lycanroc-D, and Metagross.

**Residual Damage**: If not running Drain Punch, Bewear is vulnerable to getting chipped down by entry hazards, Toxic, Double-Edge recoil, and resisted attacks from Pokemon like Golisopod, Lycanroc-Dusk Lycanroc-D, and Metagross.

[OVERVIEW]

Bewear differentiates itself from other Fighting-type wallbreakers with its defensive presence; it's its solid bulk combined with Fluffy allows Bewear to switch into physically offensive threats such as Golisopod, Tyrantrum, and Drapion. Bewear also sports an amazing Attack stat and a boosting option in Swords Dance to punch sizable holes in any Pokemon that doesn't resist its STAB combination. Unfortunately, Bewear's lacking Speed combined with a mediocre and Special Defense and Fluffy giving it an additional Fire-type weakness mean that it rarely gets the opportunity to sweep and it invites in faster threats such as Salazzle, Mega Blastoise, and Necrozma. Bewear can also be worn down quickly by repeatedly switching into resisted attacks, (RC) and entry hazards, Toxic damage, and recoil from Double-Edge. It can mitigate this somewhat by running Drain Punch, however. Despite its unique defensive traits, Bewear faces heavy competition from other Fighting-types in RU such as Machamp, Passimian, and Hariyama, as they all sport superior coverage options, speed Speed tiers, and Special Defense.

Moves

Double-Edge is Bewear's strongest Normal-type STAB attack, with recoil as its only drawback. Superpower scores easier KOs against Pokemon like Diancie, Bronzong, and Stealth Rock Metagross after a boost. Shadow Claw allows Bewear to hit Ghost-types such as Mismagius, Palossand, and Alolan Marowak that otherwise completely wall Bewear's STAB attacks. (They'll do so regardless, and this isn't really necessary.) Drain Punch is not as strong as Superpower, but it can let Bewear heal itself after taking damage from entry hazards, resisted attacks, or the recoil from Double-Edge recoil. (parallelism)

Set Details
========

An Adamant nature gives Bewear the most (wall?)breaking power possible, but a Jolly nature can be used to outpace certain variants of Mantine and Metagross. Normalium Z powers up Double-Edge into Breakneck Blitz, which removes the recoil does not inflict recoil damage (phrasing) and allows Bewear to OHKO bulkier Pokemon like Cresselia, Slowbro, and Mandibuzz after a boost. Silk Scarf is a viable alternative if a Z-Crystal is being used elsewhere, which as it gives Double-Edge more consistent power and can allow unboosted Double-Edge to potentially OHKO Florges after Stealth Rock damage. Fluffy is an excellent ability that eases set(remove space)up while also allowing Bewear to actively check certain physical threats such as Barbaracle and Tyrantrum, although it leaves Bewear threatened out by most Fire-types like Salazzle.

Usage Tips
========

Thanks to Fluffy, Bewear can easily come in against physically offensive Pokemon like Barbaracle, Golisopod, and Rhyperior. It can also be brought in safely with the help of a pivot or after a teammate has fainted. Once in battle, Bewear can begin wallbreaking early- to and mid-game or even sweep late-game asuuming assuming all its checks and counters have been dealt with. Ghost-types can switch into either STAB move with no issue, so predicting this play with Shadow Claw can open up Bewear for using to use its stronger STAB attacks.

Team Options
========

Pokemon like Shaymin and Ribombee can threaten physical sponges like Donphan and Tangela, while baiting and bait in Registeel and certain Rock-types, which can give Bewear an opening to wallbreak. The former also provides Healing Wish support, which can give Bewear another chance to wallbreak if it has taken too much damage early-game. Bewear's vulnerability to many faster threats such as Salazzle, Noivern, and Mega Blastoise means that it appreciates partners such as Aerodactyl, Tyrantrum, and Mega Sceptile, who which are capable of offensively checking such Pokemon.

Moves
========

Return is a fairly powerful Normal-type option with no drawbacks, but Double-Edge guarantees the 2HKO versus Slowbro and the OHKO against Florges and bulkier Noivern variants at the cost of taking inflicting recoil. Superpower is Bewear's strongest Fighting-type STAB option with the most reliable damage output, and the stat drops from using the move are often not a big hindrance, as Bewear is likely switching to switch (subjective change) out after getting a KO regardless. Shadow Claw enables Bewear to avoid getting walled by Ghost-types such as Mismagius and Alolan Marowak. Drain Punch gives Bewear a Fighting-type option that doesn't lower its stats, and it can also keep Bewear healthy in order to tank more hits. Facade can also be used to let Bewear be threatening even after a Scald burn, and it can punish bulkier opponents foes for afflicting Bewear with Toxic.

Set Details
========

An Adamant nature maximizes Bewear's damage output, with Jolly only being useful for outpacing a few Pokemon like Mantine and Jolly Pangoro. Choice Band gives Bewear great immediate power and capitalizes on its spammable STAB combination. Fluffy enables Bewear to check and threaten out more physical attackers, which lets Bewear potentially punch a hole in the opposing team, but it does leave Bewear revenge killed more easily by Fire-types such as Salazzle and Houndoom.

Usage Tips
========

Choice Band Bewear is capable of dealing great immediate damage without requiring a turn to set up, which can allow it to threaten Pokemon like Metagross and Machamp much more easily in order to get more chances at wallbreaking to wallbreak. (subjective change) Bring Bewear into battle by switching into resisted hits such as Golisopod's First Impression, after a teammate has fainted, on a double switch, (parallelism) or with the help of a pivot. Avoiding certain attacks like Knock Off can allow Bewear to bluff a Swords Dance set more easily, which can dissuade the use of Protect from Pokemon such as Registeel and Vaporeon, which can otherwise safely scout what move Bewear locks itself into. While Bewear's bulk alongside Fluffy can allow it to take a hit from Pokemon like Metagross and Machamp, it may need to stay healthy in order to switch into other threats such as Golisopod and Tyrantrum.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard support from setters such as Necrozma, Roserade, and Forretress helps Bewear achieve various KOs. Necrozma and Roserade can also pressure certain physical walls such as opposing Forretress and Tangela, while Volt Switch from a partner Forretress can get Bewear in safely. While Bewear can nail Psychic-types on the switch with Double-Edge, Pokemon capable of checking them like Golisopod and Houndoom are still appreciated, as Psychic-types can still pivot into Superpower and threaten Bewear if brought in safely. Pokemon such as Noivern and Dragalge can help check various threats to Bewear like Roserade and Salazzle, (RC) while also drawing in Snorlax and Registeel, which creates an opening for Bewear to wallbreak. Ghost-types are an issue even with proper coverage, as they are immune to both STAB moves, and locking Bewear into Shadow Claw can generate free turns for certain threats such as Barbaracle and Virizion, so having a Pursuit trapper such as Drapion, Houndoom, and or Metagross could help ease Bewear's time wallbreaking.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Bulk Up alongside Substitute and Leftovers can make Bewear more difficult to take down on the with physical side attacks and can punish passive Pokemon like Bronzong and Registeel, but it loses out on the raw power of Swords Dance and a Z-Move. Taunt can also harass defensive Pokemon by preventing status and recovery, but it requires sacrificing a coverage move or Swords Dance.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Special Attackers**: Bewear's mediocre Speed and lacking Special Defense leaves leave it vulnerable to getting revenge killed by Pokemon such as Salazzle, Noivern, Mega Blastoise, and Roserade.

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

=============

===================
