I have a more complete version of this in a spreadsheet (Here) where I go through all of the new pokemon as well as some of the old pokemon but I figured it would be best to have a simpler speed tier list consisting of pokemon that are highly used that will be updated as metagame threats and usage stats are defined.

This is the list of all the speed stats of viable Pokemon in the Battle Spot formats.

Bold font indicates an important speed tier that is recommended to pay attention to when adjusting the speed EVs on your Pokemon.

Introduction to Level 50 stats and how to calculate effective Speed

Stat = (Base stat +
• 5 if Pokemon has 0 IVs
• 20 if Pokemon has 30/31 IVs but 0 EVs
• 52 if Pokemon has 31 IVs and 252 EVs)
* Modifiers [Nature, Choice Scarf, stat changes, Paralysis, Tailwind, etc.]

Where +Nature gives a 10% boost, -Nature cuts it by 10%, Choice Scarf gives a 50% boost, Paralysis cuts it by 50% (or halves the speed), and Tailwind doubles the speed. Stat changes follow the given table:

-6: 2/8 or 1/4
-5: 2/7
-4: 2/6 or 1/3
-3: 2/5
-2: 2/4 or 1/2
-1: 2/3

0: 2/2 or 1

+1: 3/2 or 1.5
+2: 4/2 or 2
+3: 5/2 or 2.5
+4: 6/2 or 3
+5: 7/2 or 3.5
+6: 8/2 or 4

So if you want to find out if a +Speed nature, Choice Scarf base 70 Pokemon outspeeds a base 130 Pokemon:

70 + 52 = 122; 122*(1.1) (due to the +Speed nature) = 134 (rounded down); 134*(1.5) (due to Choice Scarf) = 201

130 + 52 = 182; 182*(1.1) (due to the +Speed nature) = 200 (rounded down)

You'll see that max Speed Choice Scarf base 70 Pokemon (like Breloom) with a +Speed nature will outspeed max speed base 130 Pokemon (like Mega Gengar) with a +Speed nature.

Patch 1.0 (7th Feb):

This aims to bring up the speed tier list in line with the current metagame and be relevant up until the release of the DLC whilst clearing up various pieces of mess within the speed tier list.

Patch Notes

1. Barraskewda, Darmanitan-Zen Mode, Mamoswine, Chandelure, Ninetales-Alola, Indeedee, Polteageist (all exc, Timid +2), Pelipper have been removed

Comments:
- Reasoning for this is as follows, these pokemon are currently having fringe viability or are unviable. There are a couple of C tier pokemon I've kept in the tier list that are either likely to move up or see considerable amounts of play but these are not included.

2. Eiscue, Inteleon, Rotom-Mow, Cinderace, Toxtricity, Seismitoad, Butterfree, Haxorus, Durant, Duraludon, Umbreon, Sylveon, Lapras, Rhyperior, Type:null, Conkeldurr, Clefable, Gastrodon, Quagsire, Milotic added

Comments:
- Cinderace, Toxtricity, Rotom-Mow, Seismitoad, Haxorus, Durant, Duraludon, Umbreon, Sylveon, Lapras, Clefable, Rhyperior, Conkedurr, Clefable, Gastrodon and Quagsire are all B- or above on the viability rankings and see considerable competitive play.
- Eiscue, Inteleon, Type:null, milotic and Butterfree either are on the cusp of B- or likely to be updated, see abnormal usage for their viability or have a unique niche in the case of Butterfree.

3. Speed tiers have been cut down to the most viable natures/speeds only.

Comments:
- Gyarados for example has jolly nature speed tier shown but does not have adamant speed tier shown due to this not being as common/viable. Alternatively, there have been expansions in speed tiers of other pokemon, such as Trick Room Dracovish added.

4. Pokemon in the same speed tier that do not typically hold a scarf or do not run that nature are not mentioned in that speed tier.

Comments:
- For example, Dracozolt is not mentioned in Trick Room Dracovish's speed tier despite them holding the same speed. Similarly, Milotic can run neutral nature no speed, whereas Gyarados generally does not so the latter is not mentioned. A boosted speed example would be Toxtricity running Shift Gear and getting +2 whereas Dracovish you won't see at +2 other than in very very niche cases so the latter is not mentioned.

5. When pokemon of different base speeds share the same speed tier, priority is given to the more viable pokemon

Comments:
- Some of this is subjective such as no speed Excadrill and -1 jolly Mimikyu sharing the same speed tier, but an example of this would be Jolly Corviknight and Adamant Diggersby sharing the same speed, in this case Corviknight is placed above Diggersby.

6. Pokemon that share the same base speed are ordered by viability/usage

Comments:
- Again, this is subjective, but Gyarados > Milotic is an example. I've used the VR as the first reference and then ordered them after based on personal opinion. This is approximate, for example with Grimmsnarl, Sylveon, Aegislash, Lapras and Clefable sharing the same speed tier, they are mentioned in this order, but there is definitely possibility that Aegislash > Sylveon or Lapras moves up when it gets its Gigantamax. In which case this will be updated in the next patch.

7. Added more Boosted Speed Tiers

Comments:
- The major ones are Max Airstream Corviknight speed tiers, Max Airstream Diggersby, Max Airstream Togekiss, more boosted TTar speeds
- For new pokemon Ive added +1 cinderace/inteleon, shift gear toxtricity, quiver dance butterfree, Swift Swim Seismitoad, Salac berry Eiscue, Dragon Dance Haxorus
- On opposite end have added curse snorlax and curse ferrothorn

8. Have changed the pokemon bolded

Comments:
- All the pokemon bolded are S -> A with a few exceptions, those being +1 Charizard, +1 Dracovish/Dracozolt, Base 60s (Grimmsnarl/Sylveon/Aegislash speed tier), but based atm on personal opinion.

9. Have put a new updated spreadsheet listing the speed tiers I've put in

Patch 1.1 (5th Mar):

Some tiny changes to certain sets as the meta progresses. Fast Belly Drum Snorlax added, Chandelure + Scarf Chandelure added. None of the starters will be added until VR is updated.
