Battle at the ASB Arena! Leethoof vs. jas61292 (reffed by Flamestrike)

Brandon rushed into the ASB Arena, late for reffing a Gym training match between Leethoof and jas61292. Sure enough, he found the two waiting somewhat impatiently. On Leethoof's side was a Solrock, while on the other was a mighty Salamence. Brandon stopped a moment to catch his breath, then spoke. "Alright, sorry I'm late guys. Let's get going!"

Leethoof:
338.png

Solrock [Ra] (genderless)
Nature: Quiet (+Special Attack, -Speed)
Type:
Rock: Rock STAB; Reduce damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm. Able to use Sand Tomb without losing focus.
Psychic: Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.

Abilities:
Levitate
: (Trait) This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. Dig and Dive can strike a Levitating Pokemon if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a flying type. Otherwise Dig and Dive will miss. Ground moves can still hit. Levitate Pokemon will retain the Levitate trait when they use Skill Swap on an enemy, and will steal the opponent's ability (the user can specify if they want a foe or ally to gain Levitate from a Skill Swap.) If a Pokemon with Levitate uses Role Play, they will copy the opponent's abilities and retain Levitate.

Salamence (Roosevelt) (M)
Nature: Lonely (+ Atk, -Def)

Type: Dragon/Flying
Dragon: Dragon STAB; More in touch with legendary or special auras in arenas. Able to use Thrash without losing focus.
Flying: Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks outside extremely odd circumstances even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Enhanced aerial mobility. Superior senses in open air arenas.

Abilities:
Intimidate: (Can be Activated) When this Pokemon initially goes out into the battlefield, it generates an intimidating roar or war cry that shakes all opponents on the battlefield, reducing thier Attack stage by one (1). The attack drop is maintained at the end of each round. If an opponent switches in a new Pokemon, Intimidate can be activated again.
Moxie (DW, unlocked): (Inate) This Pokemon gets psyched after it earns a KO on an opposing Pokemon, increasing its attack by one (1) stage. This boost is maintained at the end of each round.

Man, this is actually an interesting match up, and I think we are at a disadvantage.

So lets try this:

Hydro Pump - Crunch - Crunch
If Solrock uses Will-O-Wisp, use Substitute (15 HP) and push actions back.

Brandon settled in as the trainers wasted no time in giving orders. Roosevelt the Salamence started the battle, firing off a massive Hydro Pump at Ra the Solrock! However, it seems he was a bit too hasty, as he missed his target. Meanwhile, Ra twisted the dimensions of the arena with a Trick Room, reversing the natural speed order! Taking advantage of the new setting, Ra fired off a Will-O-Wisp, burning Roosevelt before he could set up a Substitute to block it! Then Ra quickly crushed the Substitute with a Rock Slide, but this time he couldn't avoid Roosevelt's attack as the Salamence's Crunch hit directly! The burn weakened the power though, and to Brandon it looked like Ra came out of the first round with a distinct advantage. It was still close though, and jas and Roosevelt could still easily catch up, especially with Leethoof ordering first in the next round.

Leethoof, you're up!

Nice job, Ra! Let's keep up the offensive pressure, but don't neglect those hydro pumps!

Light Screen->Rock Slide->Rock Slide

IF he orders Brick Break A1, then change actions to Rock Slide->Light Screen->Rock Slide

Damn.....

I knew this was a bad match up.

Crunch - Brick Break - Hydro Pump

You know, sometimes I wonder if making subs is always woth it. I mean, would Will-O-Wisp ever had been used if I hadn't brought it up?

EDIT: This was my 1000th post, wasn't it. Completely missed that. Well, at least I said something slightly more interesting than just orders.

jas61292, you're up!

Well.... that was interesting. Anyways, lets just blast away with Hydro Pumps. If it tries a light screen, break it.

Hydro Pump x3
If Solrock uses Light Screen, replace next action with Brick Break.

BM_Zeo will be taking over because I'm swamped with school stuff and there's no way I'll have this match done by Saturday, not to mention I really need whatever free time I have to do schoolwork. I'd apologize but you guys are probably better off this way lol. BM said he'd ref tomorrow after school (though maybe you can convince him to ref tonight?)

Hey guys! yeah I'll be taking over for you, hopefully my style of reffing doesn't confuse you in the transition but yeah, lets get this round started!

A new ref was tagged in and he was ready to go! Currently both pokemon look about even and the fight could go either way. Salamence outpaces Solrock for a Hydro Pump attack, which hits Solrock pretty hard, knocking it back some as it does some sort of dance thing, and the day becomes quite sunny, the sun is just beating down on the battle field now and water seems to be just evaporating, this effect becomes clear as Salamence attempts another Hydro Pump, but it clearly did less damage than before. Solrock slides some rocks onto Salamence, and then they repeat the same round's actions

I hate to have to point this out, but Trick Room should still be active from earlier. This means Solrock should have been faster and, of course, there is a chance Salamence would flinch. Unfortunately though, even if nothing does change, our lack of priority moves means this is a bad situation for us no matter what.

EDIT: Of course I would flinch.... (not that I would have won anyways)

Probably. However, no Physical Rock move is 100% accurate, so...

HYDRO PUMP + HYDRO PUMP COMBO!!! - Cool Down - Bite

I kind of feel bad for Flamestrike, I'm kind of just stealing his counters here.

Both pokemon are on their last legs here, it doesn't look very good for Salamence though, who, due to trick room is slower. Solrock comes out swinging (Throwing) Rocks, Hitting Salamence barely, and putting him out of commission

Um, I think its safe to assume that I don't need to hide tag the pokemon and stuff. So I'm just going to post up the one calc.

Solrock used Rock Throw
14 damage, 2 energy
