Hello all, first time making a team and posting here so hope you all go easy on the feedback.
I start off the team with Dragonite since he is one of my favorite pokemons and I always wanted to use him in battles seriously.
Dragonite @ Lum Berry:
Ability: Multiscale
EV: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Extreme Speed
Being Dragonite, stealth rocks and hazard removal is basic necessity. I pick Excadrill for the team since he synergizes well with Dragonite on defense, covering the rock and earthquake weaknesses of each other. I actually decide to double up on duties for Excadrill putting stealth rocks and rapid spin on him, because mold breaker stealth rock is too good.
Excadrill @ Choice Scarf:
Ability: Mold Breaker
EV: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
Next up I recruit Talonflame. Talonflame handles fairies types so well, which is great for Dragonite as that's one of his biggest checks (the other being steel). I decide to run a set having Talonflame to focus on checking fairies and a sort of pseudo-stall breaker type of pokemon, mainly utilizing WoW and taunt. Having a little more emphasis on his spD to take special attacks better since fairies tend to main in special attacks.
Talonflame @ Leftovers:
Ability: Gale Wings
EV: 248 Hp / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Nature: Careful
- Brave Bird
- Will-o-Wisp
- Taunt
- Roost
The new addition to the team, Slowbro makes an appearance on the fourth spot. Slowbro helps take care of keeping dragon types in check, another of Dragonite's weakness. More EV points on his special defense stat to tank some electric and grass hits better. Not much else to say about Slowbro, a good defensive tank for a lot of pokemon especially threats like Charizard x and Garchomp, and just a great guy to have around on the team.
Slowbro @ Rocky Helmet:
Ability: Regenerator
EV: 252 Hp / 80 Def / 176 SpD
Nature: Bold
- Scald
- Slack Off
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave
Looking sort of like an anomaly and striking a little resemblance to Quasimodo, Conkeldurr nevertheless is soft on the inside and serves his role to the team with joy. Assault vest helps him become a special wall, great in tandem with Slowbro on the team, resisting dark type is also a great plus. Fighting moves help break down bulky rock types such as Tyranitar, and mach punch is a safety net against Weavile who would otherwise do Dragonite dirty with ice move spams. Rounding off his moveset with knock off and ice punch, Conkeldurr is does a solid job at his role.
Conkeldurr @ Assault Vest:
Ability: Guts
EV: 252 Atk / 236 SpD / 20 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Knock Off
- Ice Punch
And finally for the last spot I have zinogre......er, I mean Manectric. And of course he's a mega, because my team needs a mega (not really but it looks nicer to have one). SSJ Manectric is fast and hits hard, and once again his moveset compliments Dragonite and the team in general. Thunderbolt helps against bulky water types like Azumaril and Suicune, who I would not have any answers for if they come out running defensive sets. And yes, it checks Slowbro too. Having strong fire type moves is very unique and useful as it gives Manectric very good coverage along with hidden powers, it's helpful in taking out steel types.
Manectric @ Manectite:
Ability: Lightining Rod
EV: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power Ice
Ok that rounds out my team. Any criticisms and adjustments are appreciated, thanks!!
