Balanced Kanto-Johto team

The focus of this team is mainly paralyzing with the plan to make way for a Gyarados sweep.

Lead

Crystal (Celebi) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/36 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Grass Knot
- Recover
- Stealth Rock

An pretty cool lead, though I think the Pokemon looks itself looks pretty lame.

It can take a beating even from most SE attacks. It serves as my status absorber and scares away ground Pokes (Swamperts) for a T-Wave on the switch.

Recover for recovery, Stealth Rock for the setup, Grass Knot for for fat asses/ground type, Twave for anything that isn't immune.

Sweeper

Silver (Gyarados) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
I think Gyarados is a pretty cool guy. eh kills pokemon and doesn't afraid of anything. Except for things that it does afraid of. Things that my other Pokemon have hopefully killed or paralyzed before I bring this dude out. EV'd to perfection so that his power is maximum (last poorly used meme of this RMT).

Physical Wall

Red (Slowbro) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 212 HP/252 Def/44 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave
- Slack Off

The second thunder-wave user. Surf for STAB, Ice Beam for +1 Salamence, Slack-Off for recovery, and TWave for the switch. Can go toe-to-toe with Swampert and always comes out the victor.

Special Attacker
Spr_b_g2_094.png

Blue (Gengar) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Energy Ball

Still quite the force, though admittedly a lot less dangerous than pre-Platinum days.

Shadow Ball for the STAB, Thunderbolt for the wings, Focus Blast for an emergency Heatran/Lucario lucky shot, and Grass Knot as my (2nd) backup plan for Swampert.

Special Wall

Yellow (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/36 Spd/220 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Heat Wave
- Thunder Wave
- Roost

Not a bad Special Attack sponge if I do say so myself, though it can often get itself into trouble with this team's lack of Rapid Spin. Takes care of opposing Zapdos (Hopefully they're not carrying T-Wave themself), Gengar, and is my favorite Scizor counter.

T-Wave for the switch (or lack thereof), Heatwave for the Scizor, Magnets, Celebis, and Jirachis, Thunderbolt for everything else, and Roost for the recovery.

Gold (Scizor) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 32 HP/252 Atk/224 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- U-turn
- Superpower

Hey, you know this guy! I'm glad Scizor got the Platinum buff because I'm tired of crappy looking Pokes (Salamence, Heatran, Celebi, Jirachi, Swampert) being the only powerful Pokes.

This dud does it all. Revenge kills, chips away, and scouts. Bullet Punch for the priority/STAB, Pursuit for the cowards, U-Turn to scout, and Superpower for Weaviles (of which I've seen the number growing... How dare they try to make a comeback?) and Luke/Magnezone switch ins.

Threat List

Scizor: Zapdos
Salamence: Slowbro
Gyarados: Celebi, or piss it off with a Twave and pay Zapdos doesn't get fucked on the switch or switch in Zapdos right away and take it straight up
Heatran: Slowbro, Zapdos?, Gyarados?
Infernape: Slowbro
Metagross: Slowbro, Zapdos, Gyarados
Tyranitar: Slowbro?, Scizor, Celebi?
Swampert: Celebi, Slowbro, Gengar
Blissey: Celebi, Gyarados, Scizor
Gengar: Zapdos
Lucario: I'm fucked, Zapdos, Scizor?, Celebi?, hopefully this dude is Twaved quick.
Latias: Slowbro, sometimes Gengar, sometimes Scizor
Jirachi: Zapdos, Slowbro
Azelf: Zapdos?
Starmie: Zapdos!
Zapdos: Zapdos
Bronzong: Pokemon
Skarmory: Slowbro, Zapdos
Celebi: Zapdos, Scizor
Vaporeon: Celebi, Zapdos
Breloom: lol i forgot
Gliscor: Slowbro
Jolteon: Zapdos?
Flygon: Slowbro
Machamp: Slowbro

Boy, I sure hope my Slowbro doesn't get taken out.

Heart Gold will have better Pokemon.

Sandshrew, Sandslash > Ekans, Arbok (Gold > Silver)
Growlithe, Arcanine > Vulpix, Ninetales (Gold > Silver)
Mankey, Primeape >>> Meowth, Persian (Gold > Silver)
Spinarak, Ariados > Ledyba, Ledian (Gold > Silver)
Gligar > Delibird (Gold > Silver)
Mantine < Skarmory (Primeape > Darkrai)
Teddiursa, Ursaring > Phanpy, Donphan (Gold > Silver)

Donphan is by far the worst rapid spinner in OU. I have no idea why it is even in the OU anymore, it'd probably have a better time in UU. Ursaring looks cooler. Primeape is too good, even being able to buck horns in the uber tier. Arcanine is a force in UU. Gligar evolves into Gliscor, which is of coarse useful in OU. Sandslash is a sword dancing rapid spinner which is a neat idea, more useful than Arbok atleast. Ariados needs and evolution, it's a freakin SPIDER Pokemon. There aren't too many cooler bugs than Spiders.

Scizor does not really need all of the Speed EV's that you are giving it. Scizor has Bullet Punch to make up for its poor Speed stat. Instead, Scizor will enjoy some added bulk since it is really your only Steel-type that you can count on being around in the mid game. Try a spread of 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe. You still retain all of the power you had with your previous spread, however, Scizor will now have more bulk thanks to the HP EV's.

Alright, you are looking for a Jolteon counter. This team is based around Pokemon from the Kanto and Johto region. So, what Pokemon from Kanto/ Johto do well aganst Jolteon? After looking through a list of Kanto/Johto Pokemon, the Pokemon I thought fits well into your team is Snorlax. It has some attacking power and keeps the threats your team needs in check. There was also Tyranitar, however, the sand from Tyranitar does not work well with your team especially since you have two SR weak Pokemon and two LO users. Try Snorlax over Gengar. Gengar is really not doing much for your team. It adds a third Ghost and Dark weakness. Gengar provides you with a Fighting and Ground immunity, however, you already have three other Fighting resists and two Ground immunities. Snorlax also has good synergy with your team. For example, Celebi can take the Fighting attacks aimed at Snorlax while Snorlax can take the Fire and Ice attacks with Thick Fat and its good Special Defense.

For Snorlax, try a set of Body Slam, Crunch, Earthquake, Selfdestruct, 252 SpD 252 Atk, 6 HP, Adamant. Snorlax can provide paralysis support with Body Slam which has a good chance of paralyzing your opponent. Earthquake allows you to hit Jolteon and Pokemon such as Heatran, Tyranitar, etc. Crunch is basically for Ghost-types and Selfdestruct is to go out with a punch and take down a Pokemon once Snorlax is not needed.

With Snorlax as your Special Wall, consider making Zapdos an offensive LO version with ThunderBolt, Heat Wave, HP Grass, Roost, 252 Speed/252 SpA/6 HP, Life Orb, Timid. You were mainly using Zapdos as your Special Wall, but now that Snorlax is the new Special Wall, Zapdos can make up for the loss of power in Gengar by switching to an offensive set. ThunderBolt is for STAB, Hidden Power is to hit Swampert and other Ground-types thatwall you while Heat Wave hits Pokemon such as Celebi, and Steel-types such as Scizor for super effective damage. Roost allows you to heal any damage taken from LO recoil as well.

Lastly, consider making Gyarados your lead over Celebi. Why? Gyarados is more capable of dealing with common leads such as Infernape, Heatran, Swampert, and Metagross than Celebi is. Gyarados can Taunt lead such as Swampert, Bronzong, and Hippowdon to prevent them from setting up Stealth Rock, which your Zapdos and Gyarados will appreciate. Try 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 6 HP, Waterfall / Taunt / Earthquake / Ice Fang, Jolly. Jolly lets it outrun Heatran and Mamoswine and hit back with Waterfall. You 2HKO Metagross leads with Earthquake and LO and Ice Fang adds good coverage to the set to hit Dragon and Flying-types.
