Okay so I played a lot of OU in SS but was not good enough ( peaking at 1450 ). This time I wanted to get around 1800 but kept failing against this gen's crazy offense I did not want to play stall so I decided to create a balanced team with 4 defensive mons, an offensive pivot and a physical sweeper. Without further ado here it is......
SKELEDIRGE
Skadi (Skeledirge) (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Unaware
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 208 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD / 40 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Torch Song
- Substitute
- Shadow Ball
- Slack Off
Skeledirge is my special wall capable of spiralling out of control if left unchecked with its Torch Song that gives a Sp.A boost every time it is used. I wanted to use Skeledirge because I was getting really annoyed of a certain metal bird and a fiery bug.
Moveset: The moveset is standard and honestly you can swap out the substitute if you want, I never seem to use it that much but I don't exactly need to setup and sweep with Skele.
CINDERACE
Cinderace @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Libero
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Pyro Ball
- U-turn
- Gunk Shot
- Court Change
Cinderace was my first choice for an offensive pivot simply because it was the best one. With speed that can outspeed almost the entire meta ( unboosted ) except for Dragapult, Cinderace became an essential part of the team because it can clear the fairy type pokemon with its STAB Gunk Shot due to Libero
Moveset: Again a standard moveset for Cinderace but instead of Sucker Punch that is priority I decided to go with Gunk Shot so that I can nail the Azumarill and Iron Valiant if it Teras
DONDOZO
The Donbozo (Dondozo) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Wave Crash
- Curse
- Protect
- Rest
This guy right here is the most annoying defensive mon you will ever see, with its unreal defensive stats it can actually withstand 3 super effective thunderbolts from Dragapult and in turn Curse itself to nail almost the entire Metagame with wave crash. Leftovers is for the constant recovery and to be a pain in the neck for Hyper Offense team
Moveset: This moveset is made to maximize the defensive potential of this mon and also to deal a few heavy punches Rest + Protect for recovery and to stall the opposing mon
Rotom W
Nigi Mitama (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Protect
- Will-O-Wisp
Rotom W is my defensive pivot and water and ground move absorber, it is extremely useful to skele and cinderace that rotom covers two of their weakness while also being able to slow pivot out to provide an opportunity for my sweeper to finish the opposing mons off.
Moveset: Typical burn moveset to out stall the opposing mons while also being able to switch out when required with volt switch, thus forming an effective VolTurn core with Cinderace. Hydro Pump performs as Great Tusk finisher.
Roaring Moon
Roaring Moon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- U-turn
Roaring Moon is undoubtedly one of the most broken pokemons this gen. With the ban of Chien Pao, Dragapult started to become prominent and the best solution? Scarved RC. It can outspeed the entire meta and hit them with two STAB moves, pivot out or annihilate them with earthquake. If the opponent plays sun, protosynthesis boosted attack can knock them all out.
Moveset: Preffered this set over D Dance as it helps to outspeed all the RC checks without wasting a turn, and with the already high Atk. Stat, there was no need for a banded set.
Ting-Lu
Ting-Lu @ Leftovers
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes / Ruination
- Earthquake
- Whirlwind
Welcome the most broken hazard setter ever, and with Ruination the most broken lead ever. Ting Lu is a mixed wall for me capable of chipping HP with his hazards + whirlwind combo. It can also function as a lead killer, finishing off clodsire, glimmora etc... with earthquake.
Moveset: The moveset is standard and spikes are optionally because you don't actually need hazards. You can Court Change them with Cinderace.
So that brings an end to my team, I really hope you liked it and I want to improve it even further, so I would appreciate all help possible. Any improvements are accepted and you are free to dissect my team.
