Avalanche Questions

I read this in the D/P Move thread: [NAME] Avalanche [SHORT DESC] Base power doubles if user is attacked first. [LONG DESC] If the user is attacked before using this move, the base power doubles. What does it mean by "attacked?" Does the user take damage first, or does the opponent just need to move first for the base power to double?

Avalanches priority is -1 I think. This means if the opponent uses a move that damages you, the power is doubled.

I'm not 100% sure, but i've only seen this move on slow pokemon like Swampert. This would lead me to believe that this move has no priority modifier, it only doubles if you get attacked first by a faster pokemon. Don't hold me on this, i just believe this is true from my own experiences. could someone like Jibuka confirm or deny this?

Dystrodactyl, e've already found all the priority modifiers, and avalanche has one. Read the research thread before spouting falsities like that.

This is the kind of question that belongs in "Ask a simple question, get a simple answer."
