Teambuilding Process
:great tusk:
I was on SV OU Lure That Threat and I wanted to make a lure for Zoroark-H. And I did. I made AV Tusk and I wanted to test it out.
:great tusk: :scream tail:
I knew that tusk would love wish support from something fat like scream tail so now tusk can actually come in multiple times without being chipped to death.
:great tusk: :scream tail: :amoonguss:
I also wanted to use amoonguss, toxapex's shadow and I thought that regen, clear smog, and spore were really good support moves.
:great tusk: :scream tail: :amoonguss: :greninja: :dragonite:
I wanted to make sure that my team had powerful wallbreakers that would make up for my more passive members so I chose greninja (one of my favs, don't sleep on it) and dragonite, both great mons in sv ou. Sad that gren fell off tho :(
:great tusk: :scream tail: :amoonguss: :greninja: :dragonite: :baxcalibur:
Lastly, I wanted to be able to pressure opposing BO/Balance/Stall teams with set up that couldn't be burned, oh wait! That's just baxcalibur!

This is the star of the show (not really, gren, bax, and dnite stole the spotlight lol). I love great tusk and I really wanted to make it work. Great tusk is GREAT. It's one of the most common mons in the meta right now. AV tusk is used to lure powerful special attackers like zoroark-h, valiant, and gholdengo. All of them think they can slap tusk around. This is where AV comes in because AV let's tusk survive grass knot from specs zoroark-h and moonblast from valiant.

Ability: Thermal Exchange
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Glaive Rush
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard

This is a fairly common variant of SD bax. This version does similar damage with icicle spear with 4 hits and also boosts the power of ice shard with never melt ice. This variant of bax is meant to slaughter stall after dozo and dirge are taken care of (not to difficult to do with dragonite and greninja). Bax is able to set up on a lot of mons because it has great natural bulk and it forces a lot of switches.

Greninja doesn't deserve to fall to UU. It's still fairly decent despite its severe nerfs. Specs gren hits a variety of mons for super effective, even bulky walls like clodsire, slowking, and skeledirge get hit extremely hard by gren. Gren also threatens non-booster valiant and roaring moon. Gren is threatened by a light breeze so you need to be careful about taking too much chip. Not only that, but gren also fears faster threats like meowscarada and valiant with booster. Gren isn't exactly the bulkiest mon as evident by the calcs so be careful to keep it away from danger. It will die to any strong neutral hit (e.g. glaive rush from bax) or a somewhat strong super effective move (e.g. body press from dozo).

Base 134 atk with a boosting nature and choice band is nothing to scoff at, especially not when this has a 120 base power stab move. Dragonite is incredibly strong and this set will catch many players off guard because they would just assume it's a dd dnite and switch in dozo. Dozo will proceed to take 40-50% from outrage and them cry because it literally can't do anything to dragonite. Espeed is mandatory for every dnite and eq is excellent in the current meta. Fire punch slams corv which is nice because most steels like gholdengo will fold to eq. With multiscale, scream tail can wish pass into dragonite, letting dnite risklessly switch in.

- Dazzling Gleam

- Encore

Wish, protect, and sometimes encore for a safe switch in. This mon is incredibly fat and it refuses to die. Wish passing for this team is amazing because scream tail has a lot of raw bulk and a solid hp stat, meaning it can heal great tusk for 40% every time it wish passes. Scream tail also enables dragonite, which can tank a hit with multiscale and then heal back up to full from wish. Encore is also useful for stifling set up sweepers that want to use scream tail as set up fodder. Scream tail also walls valiant, which most of my team struggles with. Scream tail also helps against sun teams, something else this team doesn't like. Scream tail hits like a wet noodle, why would you ever go on the offensive unless there is a roaring moon and hydreigon in front of you.

Great typing and excellent bulk allows amoonguss to wall most physical attackers. Amoonguss is never set up fodder because of it's ability to run clear smog and or foul play. Amoonguss also has the coveted 100% accurate sleep in spore. Be careful because amoonguss actually becomes set up fodder for one specific pokemon; Gholdengo. Amoognuss is able to tank hits from great tusk, dragonite, and even kingambit and it can retaliate with a giga drain into tusk or spore for the other two.

Weaknesses

:sv/torkoal: :sv/walking wake:
Sun
Sun teams prove to be a threat to this team because there is one answer to them, scream tail. AV tusk could be good after tera but fire types will delete it. The best thing to do it brute force and sometimes bring scream tail in to wish pass and heal its teammates. Greninja is pretty bad into this match up and so is amoonguss. Amoognuss does provide more than gren so sacking gren would probably be better to get a safe switch in.

:sv/hatterene:
Hatterene
Hatterene with calm mind can easily set up on a lot of the team because it forces a switch most of the time. Hat can recover a lot of its health back from draining kiss so that could spiral out of control. I forgot to mention this earlier but scream tail might wall hat but it's also set up fodder for it. Best thing to do is bring in amoonguss and clear smog and sludge bomb it to death.

:sv/kingambit:
Kingambit
Kingambit is can spiral out of control in the late game if tusk and or amoonguss has fainted. Dragonite can hurt it with eq if it doesn't tera but if it does, then outrage. into gambit. Tusk is the only reliable resist for kingambit. I guess gren kinda resists kingambit's stabs but it literally dies to a light breeze so don't count on it too much. Amoonguss should always spore and tusk should cc if gambit doesn't tera.

Goodbye :)

If you want a good way to deal with some of your threat issues, a variant of Azumarill might do the trick as a replacement for Dragonite. What I would do is swap Tusk over to a more offensive threat/ defensive help, and then Azumarill can either run AV for increased SpD bulk or BDrum/ choice band for wall breaking and high damage output.

Won’t that change make the team fucked by stall?

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll play around with azurmarill a bit.
