The Original One finds itself as a niche but effective wall and utility Pokemon, checking the likes of Necrozma-DM and Calyrex-I thanks to its great defensive typing and wide variety of utility options. Foul Play hits physical attackers such as Arceus for good damage, while Will-O-Wisp cripples setup sweepers as well as other physical attackers such as Kyurem-B, Koraidon, and Zacian-C. Taunt stops entry hazard setup attempts from Pokemon like Clodsire and Eternatus, but Ice Beam is decent coverage for Pokemon like Miraidon, Landorus-T, and Gliscor. Tera Poison is a great defensive typing, allowing Arceus-Dark to take on Pokemon like Koraidon and Zacian-C and absorb Toxic Spikes from Glimmora. The given EV spread maxes out Arceus-Dark's bulk while still outspeeding Kyurem-B. Arceus-Dark can create a good defensive core with special walls such as Ting-Lu and Eternatus, which can be hard to break. Arceus-Dark's unreliability to wall Pokemon like Koraidon and Zacian-C means it appreciates Pokemon that can take these threats on like Ho-Oh, Necrozma-DM, and Skeledirge.
