VGC Arcanine-Hisui (1/1)

[OVERVIEW]

* Hisuian Arcanine is a potent offensive Pokemon on many teams thanks to its good Attack, great STAB coverage, and excellent ability in Intimidate, giving it good matchups against Tornadus, Rillaboom, and Chien-Pao.

* Hisuian Arcanine works best in Tailwind compositions where its average Speed and poor defensive typing don't often hold it back, hence why Tailwind setters like Tornadus make good partners. In return, Hisuian Arcanine can provide Tornadus with Intimidate support, letting it stick around longer and support it with Tailwind or Bleakwind Storm damage.

* Hisuian Arcanine can be severely overwhelmed by Pokemon like Urshifu-R and Landorus, making Pokemon like Rillaboom and Latias good partners. Hisuian Arcanine also can be hindered heavily from other Intimidate users like Incineroar, meaning it appreciate having Pokemon like Landorus which can threaten it.

[SET]
Choice Band (Arcanine-Hisui) @ Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fairy / Normal
EVs: 52 HP / 196 Atk / 28 Def / 4 SpD / 228 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Rock Slide
- Extreme Speed
- Tera Blast / Head Smash

[SET COMMENTS]

* Tera Blast with Tera Fairy can hit foes like Urshifu-R, Urshifu, and Raging Bolt, the former of which walls Hisuian Arcanine's STABs. Head Smash can be used to threaten Pokemon like Incineroar and Ogerpon-W with an OHKO at the cost of being chipped down by recoil.

* Choice Band boosts Hisuian Arcanine's damage, allowing for OHKOs on top threats like Urshifu-R, Kingambit, and Ogerpon-H.

* The given EV spread lets Hisuian Arcanine take two unboosted Flutter Mane Shadow Balls and almost always survive a Stomping Tantrum from Ogerpon-H. The Speed EVs let it outspeed Regieleki in Tailwind.

* Tera Fairy lets Hisuian Arcanine remove its weakness to Fighting-type attacks, which can be useful in a pinch against Chien-Pao; this can also let it survive Surging Strikes from Mystic Water Urshifu-R. Tera Normal boosts Extreme Speed's damage, which can be helpful against neutral targets like Urshifu-R.

[OVERVIEW]

* Hisuian Arcanine is an good offensive Pokemon on many teams thanks to its good Attack, great STAB moves, and good ability in Intimidate. (This is more GC, but this sentence feels aawkward to read with all of the "good", to me at least something like "Solid Attack stat, access to strong STAB coverage and an excellent ability in Intimidate, which allows it to ___" and describe its role a bit more, nothing too much maybe just a few good match ups sounds a lot better)

* Hisuian Arcanine works best in Tailwind compositions where its average bulk and Speed dont often hold it back, which can help alleviate its middling Speed tier and poor defensive typing. (Harc has pretty decent defenses all things considered, especially with intimidate. I think a better mention would be tw supporting its poor typing, allowing it to outspeed and OHKO threats like Landorus) making setters like Tornadus good partners. In return, Hisuian Arcanine can provide Tornadus with Intimidate support, letting it live longer and support it with Tailwind or Bleakwind Storm damage. (I've restructured this sentence below, but its totally up to you how you phrase it, it just dident make much sense like this with the change I made earlier. Also, consider adding another partner such as Rillaboom, which has good offensive and defensive synergy with Harc, but also can support it with fake out while Harc can help it live longer with Intimidate)
"Tornadus is a great partner, as it can set up Tailwind and hit the Fighting types that resist Hisuian Arcanines Rock STAB, and in return Hisuian Arcanine can help Tornadus live longer with Intimidate, and hit the Steel and Ice types that Tornadus struggles with"

* Hisuian Arcanine can be severly is easily overwhelmed by Pokemon that can hit one of its many weakness for super effective, like Urshifu-R and Landorus, making Pokemon like Rillaboom and Latias good partners. Hisuian Arcanine also faces competetion (Is it really competition? It would be competition if Incin was replacing Harcs slot on teams as the primary fire type/intimidator, but here only it debuffing harc is mentioned) from other Intimidate users like Incineroar, which can severly hinder its damage output making Pokemon like Landorus or Urshifu-RS appreciated

[SET]
Arcanine-Hisui @ Choice Band / Choice Scarf Honest to god I have never seen Choice scarf, not worth mentioning it imo
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 52 HP / 196 Atk / 28 Def / 4 SpD / 228 Spe
Adamant Nature

- Rock Slide
- Extreme Speed
- Tera Blast / Head Smash
[SET COMMENTS]

* Tera Blast Fairy Tera Fairy Tera Blast can hit foes like both Urshifu formes and Raging Bolt, while Head Smash can be used to hit Pokemon like Incineroar and Tornadus harder. guarantee a knock out on bulky targets that Rock Slide cant, such as Ogerpon-W and Incineroar. (Just explaining a bit more why you are using these moves. Also maybe a line on Extreme speed?)

* Choice Band boosts Hisuian Arcanine's damage, letting it OHKO Incineroar with Head Smash, while Choice Scarf lets it outspeed Flutter Mane and Iron Bundle. Choice Band is used to guarantee many important OHKOes that non-Banded sets cant, such as OHKOing Tornadus and Ogerpon-H with Rock Slide, or Flutter Mane and Amoonguss with Flare Blitz. (I think this sounds a bit more clear in why choice band is used, as a kill with head smash on incin is more a benefit of head smash than CB. Also axing the scarf part.)

* This given EV spread lets Hisuian Arcanine takes 2 unboosted Flutter Mane Shadow Balls, and almost always survives Stomping Tantrum from Ogerpon-H. After Terrastalization, It can also survive Surging Strikes from Mystic Water Urshifu-R. The Speed EVs let it outspeed Regieleki in Tailwind, and Iron Bundle with Choice Scarf.

* Tera Fairy lets Hisuian Arcanine remove most of its many weakness (AC) and resist Dark and Fighting-types, which can be is useful in a pinch against Chien-Pao and Urshifu-S. It can also let it survive Surging Strikes from Mystic Water Urshifu-R. (I moved this section to the EV paragraph, as it read better there than here.)

I think with just a few more sentences of explaining things this analysis is good, for example with Head Smash, saying it can be used to hit Incin and Torn doesent really explain why its so good. Clarifying the OHKO on water pon and tornadus is crucial.
