Pros:
- Amoonguss makes for a decent wall thanks to its decent HP stat, a nice defensive typing in Grass/Poison, and access to coveted longevity with Regenerator, Synthesis, and Giga Drain.
- Amoonguss provides teams immense status support thanks to its access to Toxic, Spore, and Stun Spore, although the latter can be unreliable sometimes given its accuracy.

Cons:
- Amoonguss is slow, and combined with its mediocre at best defensive stats, it can sometimes have a hard time spreading status.
- There are many speedy Pokemon that can force Amoonguss out with their offensive power, such as Chi-Yu and Chien-Pao.
- Among us is a dead meme.

Terastal Potential:
- Amoonguss isn't really a Pokemon that you should Dynamax given its defensive nature, but you can choose to run Tera Poison to boost Sludge Bomb's power.

This set allows Amoonguss to wear down physical attackers like Kingambit and Meowscrada, and it can punish them back with Foul Play, although Stun Spore can be used as well in order to cripple sweepers. With Sludge Bomb, Amoonguss is able to remove Grass-types that can block Spore's effects, although Toxic can be used to consistently spread poison status.

Amoonguss has fell a little bit since the beginning but it is still holding well. Spore is one of the best moves in the game and there are very few sleep talkers in the metagame, and the few ones that do exist Amoongus has a favorable match. It does have a glaring weakness to many of the new pokemon but it still functions well.

I found Fairy Tera and Fire Tera to be among the best Typings for Amoonguss. Fairy Typing allows it to be a much bigger threat to many of dragon/Dark types and Annilape. While Fire type is mostly for the Steel and Fire Types like Ceruledge. There are generally better pokemon to Terastylize though.

Wouldn't Amoonguss not run Tera Blast? From what I know, the set is Spore / Giga Drain / Sludge Bomb / Synthesis. I guess you could replace Sbomb or Synthesis, but it's a hard move to get rid of for one 'mon.

I drop Sludge Bomb due to it not really hitting much/being useful. I have found running Tera Blast to get much better results

Fair enough. I see two advantages for Sludge Bomb over Tera Blast, though: it hits Grass-types trying to switch in on Spore harder, and it doesn’t require you to use up your Tera on Amoonguss itself.

Sure but many times Sludge bomb poisons a threat that would be more manageable with being put to sleep. Also another thing is Tera Blast doesn't have any immunities.
